Julian Assange is going to leave the Ecuador embassy

There is no charge for Assange to be extradited for. You can take his word that the US wants to spirit him out of Sweden (when it somehow didn't spirit him out of the much friendlier to the US UK) or you can believe that Sweden simply wants to hold him accountable for his actions and question him about his behavior. Julian Assange has been right about some things. He's also shown himself to be a massive egomaniac who will not hesitate to spin facts his way if it suits him.

UE law specifically forbids extradition to countries where the people concerned could face the death penalty.
Why would the US even want the guy now that he's basically lost all credibility and pushed himself in a corner anyway?
He's not even a US citizen or something, the US got the guy who leaked the documents to Assange already and he's in a cell for the foreseeable future anyway.
If you look at it from a US perspective, the citizen who is responsible for it already in jail, the party that leaked the documents are now considered a joke anyway and the hit to US interest was contained as good as it could.
I'd say they don't give a shit what happens to that guy.

Now Snowden? That's some guy they really would want to get their hands on.
