But can you imagine if he did wear the WWE strap in ROH or NJPW? It would be absolutely huge and would get people talking about wrestling again. If you ask me it could be as big and successful as the nWo storyline when it first started.

Wait, what people? Wouldn't it only matter to either people watching WWE currently or the far smaller audience of indy fans?

Don't get me wrong -- this is the outcome I want. But while it'll be huge among people who already watch wrestling and interesting to some percentage of lapsed fans, it won't singlehandedly turn everything around. You still need a consistent product for that. When Rocky popped in earlier this year, they delivered a shitty Wrestlemania, so all the fans that came back only did so for a really limited period of time.

When the person comes to cash it in, Nexus will come out to defend Punk in the ultimate showdown, then some WWE stars backstage who want to keep the title within the company come out to fight Nexus, all this while CM punk is still down, slowly getting on his feet.

Then when he gets up and the fight is raging, the PPV will fade to black and credits will roll. SERIES FINALE folks.

I love someone in this photo...

Do the cable/satelite guide infos for raw usually give aways spoilers? I can't tell if comcast is just reviewing what happened last week or if its spoiling something.

The latest on C.M. Punk, following his outburst toward Mr. McMahon.

I doubt they give spoilers for shows that are live.

It's not so much the spoiler as who is in the info. Normally it's "Will Cena overcome the odds?" or "Michael Cole has some things to say to The King!"

Since I spoiler tag was just used there it reminded me. Can everyone use spoiler tags if you find out any stuff relating to the show tonight? I know most of the time people (myself included) don't care about spoilers but this is a show a lot of people are actually interested in.

So I'm still thinking the ending is Punk wins, ADR Cashes in and beats him, but the one thing that makes me think we could conceivably see a Punk clean win tonight is that there were two contracts in the ring on Monday- one that was already signed, and one that was torn up- and that they weren't the same one.

But then I remember it's Cena, and that contract had ridiculous demands on it and I go back to my original predicition. :(

Yeah, I agree. Spoiler tag anything news worthy that you find out before the show.

Everything is fair game when the show starts.

Nervous because tonight has the potential to take WWE places Vince couldn't imagiine. But I just know he is gonna fuck it all up. One way or another Cenas music will end the PPV.

Wow. If that actually had a chance of happening, the person who wins the title back would be elevated to main event status in the span of a few hours.
So Punk would have more stars elevated/put over than what Randy Orton has done in six years.

To tell you the truth, Cena winning then saluting the camera in this trademark fashion, whilst smirking incessantly, would fill me with so much rage I would have to snap a giraffes neck.

Since three weeks ago, this is the first time I have put some serious thought into Cena winning the title outright. Every other thought I had was punk winning in one way or another. The thought of Cena winning clean is not only maddening. It is sick, vile, and like a poison.

I now feel sick.

One of three things will happen tonight. Cena will lose to Punk and the MiTB winner will get the title back, Cena will win outright and Vince will reveal that Punk tore up the wrong contract, or Punk will be about to win and be screwed by The Rock, setting up a Cena vs the man feud with Rocky for Wrestlemania.

I will throw a fit, then promptly become depressed if Cena wins clean and the PPV ends with his music playing. No joke, I'll start throwing Muay Thai kicks all around my house until nothing is left but rubble. I'll piledrive myself, man.

I ain't playin'.

What if Vince was pointing to the Hogan impersonator??!?!?!?!

Wow I thought he was actually pointing at the Zack Ryder sign, but now that you mention it, it probably was the Hogan impersonator. Vince probably doesn't even know who Zack Ryder is.

"WWE has undergone a major creative structural shakeup in recent weeks. Stephanie McMahon recently hired a man named Ian Jones for the new position of show runner. The buzz coming out of the company is that Jones has limited or no pro wrestling background. His role is described as essentially managing the television product.

Meanwhile, Ed Koskey was promoted to position of Smackdown head writer, as reported over the weekend. Michael Hayes, who previously held that title, has moved into an advisory role that plays to his strengths as a former wrestler. The word is that he is in charge of the agents/producers, and he is also a key adviser for Vince McMahon when it comes to match finishes. Hayes and Koskey have a good relationship, and some feel Hayes may have actually gained power in the restructuring, so the transition has been smooth.

Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz is said to be less hands on when it comes to the actual grunt work of writing of the Raw television show, although he remains in charge of the team. His current role was deemed "more glamorous" by one source who noted that while Gewirtz still writes promos, he primarily works with the top stars.

Powell's POV: The source cited above noted that it appears that the new structure adds more bureaucratic layers between Vince McMahon and most members of the creative staff. Thus, it will be difficult for new writers to really make an impact since they'll have limited face time with Vince and will instead spend the majority of their time with the head writers. Thus, some ideas that they pitch that Vince may like may never actually make it that far up the food chain, and Vince may never know who actually came up with the idea.

The source felt that the restructuring essentially isolates Vince from most of the writing staff. In fact, the source stated that many members of the talent roster will get more face time with Vince than the majority of the writers do these days. It is alarming anytime we hear about people with limited wrestling knowledge being hired for key positions as Jones was. In his defense, I'm not aware of his background and can only rely on what others are saying about his product knowledge. "

how'd you feel if kane cut a promo before the mitb saying if he doesnt win again he'll retire?
As a massive Kane fan i'd actually not be that bothered, the man got his deserved world title reign last year and now he's back to the role he's spent half his career in, the big red jobbing machine, with that in mind he might as well bow out.
I do feel that his little exchange with Long on Smackdown could be foreshadowing retirement. (on the other hand it could mean the opposite, the return of monster Kane).

Product failing? Hire more guys without wrestling experience to run things! More hoops for writers to jump through! More reshuffling of positions and titles! More Cena wins!

This is gonna work out great *thumbs up*

Well at least he can't do any worse than what we already get.

Bro, are you serious?

Need a straight answer though, I'm going to shell out money if he's on it. It would be the first PPV I've purchased since Ben-oit (the way Jericho pronounced it) beat HHH for the title...think it was Royal Rumble 2003.

Don't count on it.

I just noticed that Ziggler isn't on the card for MITB at all and neither is Ezekiel Jackson, I smell an impromptu IC champ versus US champ match.

Just give Punk and Cena a 45 minute match. It's been a while since we had any of those in WWE.

There's a 0-0.5% chance Ryder will show up in any capacity.

You should, however, buy the PPV to support CM Punk.

I just went to wwe.com to check out streaming price. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA are you serious bro?

$44.95 in Canada, serious?

Also, I had to go through like 4-5 different pages/sites to find that.

I think if Punk wins and leaves with the title Ziggler should go on Raw tomorrow talking about how he has the only singles championship on Raw and build up the US title.

I dunno, it would make sense to me.

Why does GAF like Ryder so much? Can someone point me to his best match on YouTube? I need to see what all of the hype is about!

That would be nice (assuming Cena does something other than writhe around in pain for 43 minutes) but this is WWE, already this year we've had great ppv time wasters such as...
- Imposter Obama
- Opening Wrestlemania with 20 odd minutes of Rock promo possibly contributing to bumping a match off the card and a 1 minute long 8 man tag match.
- Alberto Del Rio promo to nowhere at Over The Limit
- Anything involving the Cole/Lawler fiasco
