They couldn't... they pissed off their (idiotic) stock holders who thought it was real. This is a very neutered WWE.

This is pretty much the exact reason I think. The potential for a lawsuit was being thrown around because fucktards thought this was real, and then feel they got the wool pulled over their eyes.

I hate the Stockholder situation for the WWE.

Yeah me too. The only thing i would miss though are the celebrity guest hosts. That could have been a fun idea!
Could have but if it were to happen it would have just been a bunch of C-listers at best.

How can their be a Lawsuit when Vince owns like 90% of the voting share. When you buy that stock, you know what you're getting into(re no voice). You only buy it for the dividend.

Also:

-- During one of the video packages that aired during Raw and after the show concluded, Lillian Garcia announced how WWE is handling the refunds for people who attended last night's RAW. If you paid by credit card, you be refunded automatically and it will appear on your next statement. If you paid in cash, you could get a refund either last night at the arena or sometime this week at the Resch Center Box Office

So the WWE is giving the scalpers the refund:lol

warrior turns 50

blog-

I didn’t know living to be 50 was such a big deal — or something to be despised or ridiculed. Of course, not many former WWF, or even today’s WWE, wrestlers hang around alive long enough to celebrate their 50th birthday.

he sure did have a good time making fun of jake roberts in this-

Studio Briefing said:
World Wrestling Entertainment and General Electric, the owner of USA Networks, could face an investigation by the SEC into their publicity stunt last week that likely caused WWE shares to fall 7 percent on Tuesday, Fox Business Network reported on Friday. The plunge in WWE shock occurred after WWE announced that it had sold its RAW TV franchise to Donald Trump. The following day, however, both WWE and USA apologized and acknowledged that no sale had taken place -- that it was all just a gimmick to publicize a new "story arc" for the wrestling show. But Randy Katz, a securities lawyer with Baker & Hostetler, told FBN that an SEC probe "certainly is a possibility. ... The world today versus a couple of years ago has less tolerance for these types of issues. There's a greater likelihood today, than if this happened a few years ago."

Wow.

They could have at least let Donald throw in a line about thinking about selling the show to his billionaire friend Ted, which would have at least made McMahon bidding against himself makes sense.

oh Jeffykins :lol

I've found all this shit but not Orton is a pussycat.gif. It was even posted in the Wrestling thread that week! C'mon you guys don't remember it? Cena-Carlito match when Carlito spit the apple in Cena's face afterwards?

Last night's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw scored a 4.5 cable rating. The show did hours of 4.25 and 4.81.

So, what did it? Trump or the commercial-free? Whatever it was, knowing Vince McMahon, you're bound to see it 100 times now.

Dm, do you remember the gif I'm taliking about. Randy Orton playing with a ball of yarn like a cat while distracting John Cena, then Carlito did the Backstabber on him?

Wow isn't that like a one point jump over their normal average?

I wonder what they will contribute to the success, Trump? Last Man Standing? No Commercials?

I'm pretty sure it was the no commercials thing. A lot of people probably tuned in to see how they would "trump" the commercial breaks. See what I did there?

I remember it, but I don't have it

Maybe it was the SmackDown match that did it. :lol

Keyser Soze said:
What does the 4.5 stand for... I always thought it meant millions, but other TV shows thought me I was wrong....
I thought it was either millions or a percentage of the viewing audience.

Its really weird as I believe a 4.5 on cable is different than a 4.5 on network TV? And even then it only rates households and not number of people watching.

Is it sad that last night I actually found the diva's match more entertaining than the 5000th Cena/Big Slow match?

At least I got a good night's sleep after turning off the tube.

after thinking about it, WWE could afford to give the money back and go commercial free. The NBA gave the WWE a lot of cash to shut up about the Denver thing last month and the Nuggs probably gave Vince a lot of cash to avoid a lawsuit.

6/23 Impact tapings spoilers-

*NYC Street Fight: Brother Ray vs Brutus Magnus
During the match, Rob Terry, Doug Williams, Kiyoshi & Bashir all ran down and attacked Ray. Devon came down with a chair, gave Terry a wicked chair shot & put Kiyoshi through a table with a 3D. Postmatch, Brother Ray offered pieces of the broken table to the fans of the iMPACT Zone. They brought a young boy into the ring to give him a piece.

New TNA Champion, Kurt Angle comes to the ring followed by Scott Steiner, Booker T & Sharmell and Kevin Nash & Jenna Morasca. Angle introduces himself as the new champion and bring out the newest member of the Main Event Mafia, Samoa Joe. He comes out and hugs each member of the Mafia. Angle said it was all part of the master plan. It was all because of Jenna and her investment her millions which lead to Joe joining. He apologizes to Sting for not telling him and what he didn't know didn't hurt him. Mick Foley's music immediately hits and he comes out to the ring with Rocco & Sally Boy who remain at the top of the stage and head back down the tunnel as Mick enters the ring. He says Angle doesn't owe him an explanation..but he owes Sting one and Joe owes AJ one, but what Angle does owe him is a rematch at Victory Road. Angle wants Foley to cry, says he is a disgrace and has no power. Angle says he can choose his opponent at Victory Road according to his contract. Foley says at Victory Road, this crybaby is gonna kick his ass. Angle says, if you want something from the MEM, you have to give something back..how about we go back to Foley's office and talk about things.

*Kevin Nash vs Abyss
During the match, Dr. Stevie ran down and used a taser on Abyss & allowed Nash to get the ring. Stevie remained on the ramp & played with the taser as Lauren ran down to check on Abyss.

New TNA Tag Team champions Beer Money come out. They say not only are they the greatest tag team in TNA but in the World. They offer Team 3D their rematch anytime, but Scott Steiner & Booker T come out. Booker asks them if they have ever heard of the Steiner Brothers or Harlem Heat and that Angle is running things, so he and Scotty are getting a tag title shot and they will have singles matches against him & Steiner. Team 3D come out and from the ramp, they said they're a little frustrated and declare they are getting a rematch at Victory Road. They're going to Mick and giving him an offer he can't refuse. Hilarious segment.

*Knockouts 10,000 Tacks match: Taylor Wilde defeated Daffney

*Scott Steiner defeated Robert Roode.

JB is backstage with Kurt Angle, we learn that Sting is on his way and he wants answers.

AJ Styles comes to the ring to discuss what happened and calls Samoa Joe out to the ring. AJ asks if it was the money and says they had a plan. He said he turned his back on him, the company & the fans and screwed himself when he gave Angle the TNA Title. He wants to know who got in his head, who made him think it was all worth it. Joe says he can ask himself at Victory Road. Matt Morgan comes down and helps Joe beat down on Styles until Daniels makes the save. Nash, Booker & Steiner come down and beat down on Daniels & Styles...but then Sting walks down and the mafia leave the ring. Sting looks down at Styles & Daniels who are helped out by Security before taking the mic. MEM slowly start making their way back into the ring and Angle restrains Joe from Sting. Sting says he expected this from Angle & Joe but not from the other three. He said it was because of punks like Joe they started the Mafia. He tells Kurt he is pathetic. Morgan says Kurt had everything to do with this. Sting confronts the remaining members. He tells Nash he expected more from him, Nash basically says he went to bat for Sting in every instance. Nash says Sting's plan isn't working, but Angle's is...this honor, dignity and respect is bullsh**, and its all about money. You can make friends and you can make money but you can't do both in this business. Sting says this isn't about Oz, Big D or Big Sexy but the heart of Kevin Nash..he offers him the bat to take him out to get his place in the mafia, Sting turns his back and pulls out second bat and attacks Nash before he can attack him, fends off the majority of the Mafia until Joe picked up the second bat and attacks Sting with it. The MEM then all beat down on Sting helplessly. Nash grabs Sting, holding him and shooing away the Mafia and delivers a Jackknife powerbomb on him, while the MEM stand tall over their now former leader.

*James Storm defeated Booker T w/Sharmell via DQ when Booker smashed Storm over the head with his own beer bottle.

*The Amazing Red defeated Cody Deaner with ODB

*Tara & Amazing Kong w/Raisha Saeed defeated The Beautiful People with Madison Rayne when Kong pinned Sky following an Implant Buster. Postmatch, Tara took the black box she had at ringside with her over to Sky's fallen body and placed a live tarantula on her stomach.

*TNA World Title Match contested under tag team rules - Kurt Angle & Samoa Joe defeated Jeff Jarrett & AJ Styles when Angle made Jarrett pass out from his leglock submission. Postmatch, Scott Steiner, Booker T and Kevin Nash come down to celebrate with Joe and Angle. Styles grabs his Legends Title and goes to chase off MEM. He eventually hits Samoa Joe but the remaining Mafia members come back into the ring and beat down Styles gangland style while Jarrett was still unconscious. The lights in the iMPACT Zone go out and Sting's music hits, and as they return on, Angle is choking Styles with the TNA World Title while Sting is behind him with his signature baseball bat. Sting takes out the members of the Mafia and grabs the TNA World Title. The lights go back out and not only has Sting disappeared but so has Angle's TNA World Title.

* Show opens with Justin Roberts announcing the chairman, Mr. McMahon. Comes down, starts off kind of like a babyface, then starts complaining about the stench. Talks about cheeseheads, cutting the cheese. Then he figures out what it is: the stench of fear. Runs down the fans, says most would get fired if they were graded solely on performance. Brought out General Manager Teddy Long, asked him what was planned for the show. Teddy said there was a tag match, Jeff/Rey against Edge/Jericho.

* McMahon said that wasn't good enough, Teddy said it's a cage match, and the ref will be CM Punk. McMahon decided to put Teddy on probation.

* Opening match saw R Truth beat Shelton Benjamin in 8:52. Pre-match, Shelton cut a promo talking down to Truth for not getting a proper education, making fun of the lyrics in Truth's song ("You can be..."). Looked like they headed to commercial around the 2 minute mark. At one point, Truth seemed to botch a jawbreaker on Shelton, and they re-did it better. Furthermore, Shelton did the old German-Suplex-into-a-near fall combo, but he didn't bridge it. As a result, both of 'em had their shoulders down. *shrug*

* Backstage, they did a segment with Vince, Teddy and Rey Mysterio. Vince talked about the mask and Rey's match with Jericho, Rey responded in Spanish. Vince was mad, asked Teddy what Rey said, and said Smackdown would be English-only.

* Later tonight: Punk vs. Morrison

* Next match was Divas tag action, Alicia Fox and Michelle McCool defeat Gail Kim and Melina in maybe 6 or 7 minutes (forgot to time this one) Melina got kicked in the mouth early, and sold it for a little while. Gail finally got the hot tag after at least 5 minutes, and had a pretty good counter while on the apron; Fox (I think) went for a shoulder to the gut from inside the ring, Gail jumped it and came down on her back. Gail hit a cross body block off the top after that, but then McCool got a blind tag and hit the Styles Clash (or whatever it is she calls it) for the pin and the win.

* To the back, with Punk, Teddy and Vince. They talk Money in the Bank and Straight Edge. Vince talks down to Teddy some more.

* Dolph Ziggler/Great Khali at The Bash, No DQ.

* For the top of the hour main event, John Morrison beat world champion CM Punk in 14:36. Morrison made his entrance, then I think they'll take a break, as he posed for a while, and even pointed out a "Shaman of Veggies" sign in my section. First 3 minutes were quite slow, but it picked up after that. Punk hit a German into a bridge pin on Morrison for 2 (unlike Shelton, Punk actually DID bridge), and John seemed to be shaken up from landing high on the German. Punk tried a sunset flip powerbomb to the outside, Morrison countered by dropping a knee across Punk's neck. Back in the ring, Punk countered an attempted running knee from John into a single-leg Boston Crab. After escaping from that, Morrison hit his springboard kick for a VERY long 2 count, then went up top for what seemed to be a moonsault. Punk cut him off first, and hit a second-rope reverse suplex for a 2 count. Morrison rolled Punk up for 2, Punk countered for a 2 count of his own, then Morrison countered back into another pinning combination for the 3 count and victory. Crowd was surprised by the suddenness of the finish. Post-match, Punk offered Morrison a handshake, then got him up and hit the GTS.

* Josh Matthews interviewed Jericho in back, who said he knows what's best for Rey. Pretty typical Jericho promo, and not half-bad in my view.

* Then, time for the typical "stand in the ring and go over the PPV card" segment. Whee.

* They played the cage lowering music, then went to the back where Teddy and Vince were with Jeff Hardy. Vince said he didn't want Jeff to win because of his past... doesn't want Jeff to be representing the show. Now time for the main event, Jeff and Rey against Jericho and Edge in a tag-team cage match, with special guest ref CM Punk.

Punk came out first in his ref shirt, and was booed. Both Jeff and Rey got big pops for coming out. Jeff, after coming out first, climbed up on top of the cage and hung out up there while Rey made his entrance. The two did some posing on top together, then climbed down while Jericho was coming down. Bunch of loud pyro for this match. Jeff and Rey hit Poetry in Motion early, eventually Rey went for an escape. He was stopped, so hit a cross body block from the top rope.

At one point, Jericho was sitting on the top turnbuckle, and Jeff and Rey knocked Edge's head right into his crotch. By my count, there were 3 crotch shots this match; one low dropkick by Rey, the head-to-crotch one, and one more that I didn't see very well, but I certainly saw Edge's face afterward. Right after that, Rey hit a hurancanrana from the top. Jericho regained control, tried to rip of Rey's mask while on the top rope. Rey pushed him off, then jumped at him. Y2J countered with a dropkick.

Rey finally got the hot tag to Jeff at the 12:30 mark in the match. Edge went for a spear on Jeff, but he moved and Edge speared CM Punk instead. A couple near-falls later, the finish came about. Jeff went for a Twist of Fate, Edge pushed him away, towards Punk. The two glared at each other, and Jeff turned around into a spear from Edge. 1-2-3, it's over.

* Post-match (and post-show, I believe), Punk got on the mic and told us to give it up for Jeff, before saying that he's still better. He got in the ring, then Jeff hit a Twist of Fate and Swanton to send the crowd home happy. After Jeff left and the cage was raised, Punk was left in the ring alone. For some reason, there ended up being a replica world title belt put in the ring, and Punk kicked it onto the floor, looking angry. Kind of weird.

Must not highlight Smackdown spoilers. I used to read the spoilers all the time since I could rarely catch it, but now I can actually watch the show so old habits die hard.

People were talking about the Attitude era the last few pages so I found this:

Rock vs. Austin at WM X-Seven

The last match of the Attitude era. It's actually kind of haunting to watch it now, especially JR's last line. The video is a bit grainy, but look at the insane amount of flashes that go off when Austin and Rock both do their poses. When I was a kid I watched this PPV with my dad and we had a ton of food and snacks like it was the Super Bowl.

Yeah, but I'd imagine that he takes a fistful of steroids every day.

Balls, I shouldn't have read those spoilers.

Still, I like that
Punk is using the "I'm better than you" line, and I hope Punk wins at the Bash so that him and Morrison can have their feud perhaps. Still, I know they're probably going to stick with Hardy to please the fangirls

Anyone else think that there's going to be some sort of Vince and Punk alliance. I get the feeling after reading Vince's comments on Jeff, and him talking straight edge with Punk.

Aww man that takes me back. WM 17 was the first PPV I ever watched. The whole thing delivered, but that last match was so awesome. I watched it with my aunt and my cousins, and they marked out like crazy when Austin won, while little ol Rock-loving me was mad as hell.:lol

Another favorite from that one was Angle and Benoit, though that goes without saying as most of their matches were awesome.

Angle v Benoit

I remember feeling personally betrayed when Austin and McMahon joined forces and Austin turned heel. He was my favorite wrestler and I was devastated that he would resort to such tactics to win the title :lol

6/24 Impact Tapings spoilers-
ay Lethal defeated Johnny Gordado during Lethal's entrance, he handed his headband & robe to SoCal Val, but threw it in her face, she threw them down, turned her back and walked away..leaving them at ringside.

*The Main Event Mafia comes out to the ring
. Kurt says he knows Sting is home licking his wounds, but it wasn't personal it was all business. He calls out Mick Foley who comes to the ring with his security team. Kurt immediately cuts off Foley who tries to speak and says he's crossed the line. He says he went over his head and lied to the Godfather. Rocco & Sally Boy stand in front of Foley, he says do your best. Steiner & Joe attack them & take them out. Foley says to just let him wrestle at Victory Road. Lets make a deal...Kurt says, door #1 he kicks his ass, door 2 its Booker 2. Nash is 3 and behind the curtain he unleashes Samoa Joe. He says he picks #1 and immediately hits Angle..the Mafia beat him down until Jeff Jarrett makes his way to the ring with his guitar. The Mafia runs off and heads away from ringside, Foley gets to his feet and Jarrett nails him with his guitar. The Mafia begin smiling as Jeff goes up the ramp through them, Angle slaps his chest..and Jarrett looks back at him with disgust before heading back down the babyface tunnel. The Mafia look confused and try to look for Jarrett.

*TNA Tag Team Champions, Beer Money come out to join West & Tenay for the following match. Scott Steiner & Booker T def Team 3D. Halfway through the match, Kiyoshi & Bashir come out & attack Beer Money at the commentary table. It looked like 3D was about to get the win. But in the meantime, he wants to talk to Joe, who comes out to the top of the ramp and makes his way to the ring. Sting tells him that he is the reason why wrestling and this company are as bad as they are right now. He's not willing to work for anything and expect things handed to him. He said he can fight this fight alone. Joe said, fortunately for Sting, he's been told to keep his temper. Sting asks who is in his ear, who's telling him, who is pulling his strings. Joe says he's going to say it one last time and you'll find out at Victory Road. Sting says he's going to find him tonight..pull him from the shadows bring him to the ring..tear him apart and feed him to the fans.

*Mick Foley comes out to the ring he says life can be funny sometimes and some times you need to make difficult decisions. He says that TNA shouldn't have two decision makers and suggests that tonight one should step down from decision making capacity. Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring and says he needs to ask Mick a question..if he thinks before anything he says. He says they are cut from the same mold, its the nature of the beast. He says in Foley's quest to regain his TNA title, he put TNA in serious danger and no matter what happens after Victory Road he will always be a true legend in this business. He tells Mick he needs to start thinking why he came to TNA, the young athletes and their families and the future of TNA, but they have to do it together. Foley appreciates what Jarrett is saying...and that in hindsight, they are even steven...but he does say he needs to prove something to himself and that winning the TNA title was no fluke and that's to take it back from Kurt Angle
and that's he's going to do it for the right reasons and for all the fans and wrestlers of TNA. He says Angle needs a warm-up match and tonight Angle should take on Jeff Jarrett..non title of course. Jeff likes the idea, but is "gonna tweak it" a bit..and make it a 3 way dance...himself vs Angle vs Mick Foley. Foley says he sees his tweak and raises one, so no one says they are in cahoots, they're gonna let Kurt Angle choose his own special referee. Jarrett says that it cannot be a member of the MEM or Matt Morgan.

*"The Outlaw" Jethro Holiday defeated Jesse Neal w/Rhino

Angelina entered the ring for her match. Tara vs Angelina Love for the TNA Knockouts Title. Match started with a few quick pin attemps for Tara, then Love escaped the ring, but Tara pulled her back by her hair. Madison Rayne tried to stop it and got thrown out by Rudy Charles. The match continued till finally Tara hit the Widow's Peak and got the win to become the NEW TNA Knockouts Champion.

*Matt Morgan & Kevin Nash vs. AJ Styles & Daniels. Daniels & Styles win when Styles pins Morgan following a BME/Frog Splash combo. Postmatch, Nash & Morgan attack Daniels & Styles from behind, Morgan gets a chair and traps Daniels's leg in it and stomps on it in an attempt to break it. Styles enters the ring to help his friend with a chair of his own, Morgan & Nash head up the ramp while security and trainers come out to assist Daniels.

*Non Title Match - Eric Young is the special guest referee. TNA World Champion Kurt Angle vs Jeff Jarrett vs. Mick Foley Angle wins via a submission. He had Foley in the ankle lock and Eric Young called for the bell. Postmatch, Jarrett went after Young and they battled to the back. Angle attacked Foley and Samoa Joe with the TNA title and a bat and Steiner, Nash & Booker all came down with barbed wires and barbed wire bats and proceeded to tie up Foley in it. Sally Boy & Rocco came down in an attempt to help Foley, but were quickly taken care of. Foley's new security team led by Bugsy McGraw came down armed with nightsticks and surrounded the ring as Angle celebrated with his TNA World Title and the Main Event Mafia.
