Trespasser using the Source Engine box-moving mechanics would be pretty interesting if they built the Dinos around the slower-pace of moving objects around. Having to dodge dinosaurs and scavenge ammo would make for a pretty intense Jurassic Park experience.
Yeah, a JP game shouldn't be about killing dinosaurs, but surviving and escaping them. Maybe a game where its all about knocking them out rather than killing, or escaping, solving puzzles, etc but in a similar style as Trespasser? I don't know.. Maybe a game where you are a JP Park Ranger and have handle incidents as they arise? :lol
The GameWorks here in Vegas had the actual game/ride. You got in this room with one other person (at the time, my gf) and the doors shut. The whole thing spins you around maniacally as you're shooting at the dinosaurs. Got jerked around pretty bad and dizzy, plus a bit much for what I remember being like $4 or $5 but still kinda cool.
Oh my god, I LOVE this game! You have the very slow intro, the Tyrannosaurus pops its head onscreen, then the action never. Fucking. Stops. It's so fucking intense!! I've finished it a couple of times and I still watched the whole of that video, wide-eyed and unblinking.
I want to make a game like it someday, minus the criminal cheapness (plenty of sections where it is absolutely impossible to not take damage), but until then I would like a new Jurassic Park game like it plzkthx.
As much as I would love to see a proper JP game, it ain't gonna happen. We'll get one for the film, to be sure, but it'll be a brainless, crappy movie adaptation that's just as bad, if not worse, than the other ones we've had shoveled off on us the last few years.
