Yeah... I honestly think it will be modestly handled. I could be wrong. I hope I'm not. I don't think they set out to create something that looks over the top, but something that fits with the look of the rest of the dinosaurs but with those traits that they hope visitors will find "cool." The problem is that it's the same mentality that goes back to Ellie's comment about how some of the plants in the visitor's center were poisonous but they picked them because they looked good.

I'm not worried about the actual design of D-Rex. The problem is the logic behind making a smart camoflauging dinosaur. How absolutely dumb do you have to be? How are guys supposed to be impressed if they can't even see the animals and what's the point of making the D-Rex smart. It's not like they're giving SATs to the animals.

I think it's going to be a T-Rex with a mixture of genetics of the films previous villains (veloceraptor & spinosaurus).

Edit: Or has it been already be claimed as such?

I guess i can't fault pratt that much when they give him such generic and cornball dialog. "It depends on what kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab."

Very cornball. but could sound better in the actual film instead of isolated in that weirdly edited conversation.

However, "Mommy's very angry" was used in The Lost World trailer... and it still sucked in the movie.

I'm surprised they're doing this project after the terrible 2 and 3.

Don't you dare put them on the same level lol

Genetically engineering a super-dinosaur is a different story though, but that falls into deeper suspension of disbelief than the rest of the park does in context.
Park has been operating fine for 10 years, they then get the bright idea to start fucking around with them which leads to trouble.
Thats the point, they somehow made this horrible idea work well for years making loads of money but it wasn't enough for them and thus their stupidity causes another disaster.

Fast moving CG just doesn't seemed to have advanced much since JP3. The focus has been on detailed performances up close (Gollum) and perfect integration into scenes (District-9). But even in those films whenever there was a bunch of movement something looked off. I don't know if it's motion blur or animation or what.

Anyways I have no issues with the premise. Bringing back dinosaurs the way they did in the first film is not possible. Genetic engineering of that DNA is in the same boat. I believe it in this universe.

Who knows. I think it's just a haphazard result of financial panic. The park has got to cost an unfathomable sum of money to operate every day, and if park attendance is beginning to wane it could scare the company into running with stupid decisions. If that sounds stupid, that's because it is, and the original park was guilty of things that are arguably as dumb, such as the ability for people to get out of the jeeps while on tour.

I think the idea, at least what they believe the idea to be, is that people would get to see a dinosaur that can do different stuff. It likely doesn't stay camouflaged but it would be hilarious if it did. It would go right back to the first one with them getting upset that they can't see the dinosaurs.

Was good up until the GMO dinosaur thing

ehhhhh

will watch i guess

Supposedly Diabolus Rex can turn invisible essentially(cuttlefish camoflauge), has the size of a T-Rex, the intelligence of a raptor, and other crazy shit like venom.

Absolutely stupid shit put together into one killing machine. Some absolutely idiotic moron decided to make the perfect carnivore.

I remember reading this a long time a ago on gaf.
I think I blocked it out of my memory

Where did you guys get that the park has been opened for 10 years ? Because the "decade" spoken in the trailer does not refer to that.

Also, why would anyone be proud of someone going to visit that park ? It's not an achievement. It's not as if the kid had graduated from law school. :/

Maybe because he is going away from Mommy and Daddy for a long period of time?

Well, that looked cheesy.

The shot with the water dinosaur was cool as hell but the rest just looked really fake. Not really feeling it.

The dialogue/delivery was really weird too.

This just made me want to rewatch the original. I need to get on to that.

Many times they tend to over-animate CG and shoot them too sharp. Clothes, hair, and body movements are altogether too smooth and applied a liberal amount of motion blur, making it weirder when it's overly detailed in a shot. Full body CG shots still have a long way to go.

I noticed that. lol that's so silly. I smell a shitty sub-plot with those kids.

I like how the trailer was ambiguous in a sense that it didn't show any major scenes from the movie. It makes sense that they had to make a new threat with genetic splicing. The raptors scene was awesome too because its like bringing your dogs out on a big hunt. With Jurassic Park 3 being so meh, this can only do better.

I still don't get the hate about the CGI the movie is still being made this probably was something they slapped together for the trailer.

The movie does not release for another 6 months so I will wait until I actually have watch the movie to judge it, and be honest people you are gonna see it.

lol yeah, I thought the same.

The park having been open for a decade is on the Masrani site.

EDIT: lol @gif

Kid is probably terrified of dinosaurs due to some event happening when he was a kid(maybe the T-Rex in LA incident). That way it is a throwback to the kid in JP1 while also demonstrating consequences from previous films.

He agrees to go to the park with his brother to get over his fear of dinosaurs. Why the parent's don't come too? No clue, maybe it's their anniversary and they're going on a trip without the kids.

I was so incredibly hyped with that trailer. Until I saw trained velociraptors, when the hype turned into laugh-disgust. Sorry but nope. 6€ less for Universal.

This looked amazing......

.... until the comment about the bio engineered dinosaurs. Normal Dinosaurs are already cool and threatening as fuck, why do they need to add this dumb sounding plot point????

I'm gonna need to see reviews before I get excited about this. The idea of a new Jurassic Park isn't that interesting on its own and this trailer didn't do much to get me hyped up.

The last scene reminded of that leaked script about the soldiers and intelligent raptors they would use. Probably already mentioned in here.

Sounds like something one would say to the creator of the atom bomb as well.

David Wallace!

Edit: Just finished. Jesus christ, these people just don't learn. Some Mothafuckahs are always trying to iceskate uphill.

I'm going to assume the kid has something wrong with him which is why him going to something like this is a big thing for him. The older brother even rolls his eyes at their moms comment.

Man between this and Age of Ultron... so far trailers this year just aren't doing it for me.

Trailers specifically aren't appealing, not the actual movies.

Yeah, those would make sense.
