Jurassic World Official Trailer

What have we seen? We saw some raptors let out of pens, and them running alongside a bike without knowing where/why they are running

What's the reason for them not just killing him then? They clearly acknowledge him and could catch him if they so desired. He's also pretty nonchalant about them being next to him. Also, (spoilers in the leaked trailer stuff)
he clearly speaks to the raptors and says something like "easy girls" while in a pen with them without any protection.

Did he cover himself in raptor piss? Are the raptors running back to the mother land? There's no motive for them to do what they do without domestication/taming.

Let's do this :p

So you went back and took pieces of the original and recombined them into something new? You read what others had done and you took the next step. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox, and now [bangs on the table] you're selling it, you wanna sell it. Well...

Yup exactly. As I've said we don't have context for that scene, if they are running from Hybrid Dino then they're not gonna give a shit about going after Dinolord when something is trying to eat them

I was under the impression that the story leaked during the summer and we heard that the Raptors were indeed 'working' with Pratt's character in some capacity?

People saying the CG in the original looks better than this CG need to go back and watch the original again.

The Brachiosaurus looks like shit now.

no it does not.

Three things i would have not done with this movie

1. train raptors
2. aquatic dino
3. genetically modified dino

I really do not like any of these

I know some people are citing guardians as example of cgi upgrade but then we have wolverine movie to counter when the upgrade isn't enough. Let's wait and see

Maybe they're running from a bigger threat or perhaps towards a different target.

The aquatic dino is the best part of the trailer.

Thomas Jane's character in Deep Blue Sea is probably what they should've went for here. You can clearly see that Thomas Jane has spent a lot of time with those sharks and there's a sense of expertise and respect there, but he clearly hasn't domesticated them.

This was the rumor leak that people are talking about FYI:

THE PARK

Building on our original scoop: JURASSIC WORLD will be a real running theme park, complete with a monorail (as teased in recent concept art above), shops, rides, and shows. It's the most popular theme park and a family destination. To get there you have to take a high speed shuttle boat from Florida. Inside the park there are a multitude of activities, including a Dino petting zoo and a Hologram info center where you can learn about the methods they are using to create dinosaurs (an enhanced version of the original one). One of the rides is called a "Gyrosphere" that you can get in and ride around in the wild to get up close to the Dinos.
RUNNING and SCREAMING

Business is good at the park, but the powers that be start to dream up new ways to keep customers coming back; namely by splicing Dino DNA with other dinos (and other species). That becomes the problem. They splice together a T-Rex, raptor, snake, and cuttlefish to create a monstrous new dino that, of course, gets loose and terrorizes the park. Nothing like a little greed and human arrogance to ruin a good thing, right? Dino expert Jack Horner has teased this bad boy since last year and now we have an idea why he says we'll want to "keep the lights on" after seeing it. He may be right.

GOOD DINO vs. BAD DINO

According to our source, there will be lots of Dino on Dino fighting, as some of the Dinos are "good guys" that are trained by Chris Pratt's character. The raptors and T-Rex are among the "trained" good dinosaurs. The big bad dinosaur has instant camouflage abilities, like the cuttlefish, so he blends into the background, is smart like the velociraptor, uses his jaw like a snake, and can terrorize like the T-Rex. Does this mean the new dino will be the ONLY "bad" one? Or will there be more than one? Unconfirmed, but it will be the catalyst that kicks off the peril.

And that's it! See, not so bad, right? Nothing ruined and a good bit to ruminate on until the next bit of news, set pics, or perhaps something official. Personally, I love it. I love the park being a real, working park and being able to see John Hammond's dream come to life and people enjoying it as such. I love the idea of the "tamed" dinosaurs as well. I know that may sound like blasphemy to some, but it makes sense (in a world where we recreate living dino's, anyway). Having a new "big bad" dino that terrorizes both the humans and "good" dinos should make for a lot of fun. We certainly don't need to see another version of JURASSIC PARK with humans running from a T-Rex and Velociraptors, so I like the idea of having them be more of an ally to a greater threat this time around. I'm sure some will feel differently, but it works for me.

Ehhh.... Not impressed by the trailer. So it's a single GMO that they went and created and they decided to start with a huge murderous beast? Ehhh... Well, hopefully it's better than a trailer but the sense of awe is gone from the first movie and we will never get that back.

Need a good story behind this movie to make an impact and I have my doubts. Also too much green screen can and will be a bad thing.

Still dinosaurs are awesome... I am so conflicted.

Looks about what I expect from a cash grab film trying to resurrect a dead franchise. It surely can't be worse than JPIII.

Michael Giacchino will be the best thing about this film. Can't wait to hear his score and William's remixes

Too busy trying to save their own butts? Why kill a guy when you're busy trying not to get torn to shreds yourself.

Maybe they're running from a bigger threat or perhaps towards a different target.

Have either of you seen the leaked trailer stuff? If not, I won't bother barking up this tree. You both make valid points, my only counter would be I think Pratt would still show a bit of concern either for the larger following target or the raptors beside him. He seems way too calm.

If you willingly have no expectation of quality then what do you care what people think about the state of the VFX in the trailer?

The trailer is horrible. The general reaction seems to be negative. But if all you wanted was another Jurassic Park movie then you've won already! :)

Much like me and Jupiter Ascending. Studio confidence is low and it's being quietly sent to February for release just like Robocop and Green Hornet before it. But I'm not the one paying for it and I'm actually excited for the film so, as far as I'm concerned, it's all good.

I don't care what people think, just pointing out the fallacy of expecting the CGI to be top notch in a teaser trailer, when historically it's not been an issue.

And if you want to compare it to Jupiter, that could be true. I feel the same way about the JR trailers as many of you feel about the JP trailer.

Nah I haven't seen it, so I'm happy to be told otherwise.

Just pointing out what this trailer made it look like.

I just see it as Chris Pratt riding with a pack of dogs...swinging with monkeys looks ridiculous no matter how you look at it.

The problem is that domestication takes thousands and thousands of years. It's not like a pack of dogs at all. That's why we're not training lions and tigers as hunting animals.

If this is true they have lost their minds. This is even more ridiculous than Sharknado.

I hear ya'. Not saying your wrong either, I mean, you've got the writer (I think) backing your side.

The problem is that domestication takes thousands and thousands of years. It's not like a pack of dogs at all. That's why we're not training lions and tigers as hunting animals.

That's not totally true. We've done it over the course of 50 years with foxes. Still much longer than 10 years though.

Trained/tamed raptors is actually a pretty awesome idea. They are always depicted as smart animals and human have a history in working with smart animals, so why not. I think it can lead to some pretty tense situations. I just hope they are careful with this to not break the suspension of disbelieve. It is a risky concept, but one that can lead to a damned interesting movie.

I do hope there are some badass villainous raptors as well though (maybe a cage somewhere in the park with the raptors that do not obey well or are agressive).

I loved the first movie (one of my favourites that I can watch countless times), really liked the second one (especially the first half was solid, I thought). But 3? Holy shit, that was bad. Lets hope this one is at least on par with the second one.

But social interaction among animals is something that is learned, and was a theme in the Lost World (book). So while the may not be as domesticated as a dog, they could have at the very least taken that first step towards domestication. I look out for humans, they look out for me.

Are you people seriously arguing theoretical domestication in a setting where genetic engineering exists to the level that allows the recreation of dinosaurs and even gene-splicing for hybrid killer dinos? Really? Lol.

Looked fine. I'm guessing they'll spend the first part of the movie trying to recreate the "awe' and introduce Pratt's character a bit later on.

Won't be an earth-shattering movie, but fuck, I'll have fun with it.

Gotta find a reason to be pissed off at a 2 minute trailer of a fictional story.

Actually, there were talks about this kind of genetic engineering back in the 70s I believe. That's where the original idea of the book came from. Sure, they were thinking big, but this was actually something they thought MIGHT be possible in the future back then.

Well, I'm not sure what to think. I'm not excited by the trailer but I don't necessarily think it was bad.

That said, the almost haunted, slow, sad version of the theme was great though.
