Jurassic World Official Trailer

The thing I hated about that scene is when Grant and Sattler are holding off the raptor and they're reaching for the gun... then the kid there is doing nothing the entire time. WHY DIDN'T HE GO OVER AND GET THE GUN?!

Yeah, that became more prevalent as I got older. You can see Tim just hopping up and down with his hands on his head.

Then he decides it's a good time to watch/nag his sister while she's trying to save the park LOL

One thing that always bothered me in the original film is at the beginning when the helicopter descends you can see 2 jeeps backed all the way to the end of the dirt road.

Then they exit the helicopter and there's a shot of park employees backing up the jeeps for them.

IT DRIVES ME INSANE

Sorry I was just watching it again last night and needed to vent

The thing that really bugged me about that scene is Sattler is pushing against the door right next to the door hinge. She is practically applying no force.

Agreed. The Compy puppets were brilliant, and they put the T-Rex animatronics to really good use. And yes, JP3, what's that.

The Compy puppets are so good. The scene with Peter Stormare....
JP3 was the typical Joe Johnston movie...he only made one great movie
Falling Down
.

EDIT: It was Joel Schumacher...

@ bananafactory: As I said: JP is full of movie mistakes. I mean...where does the T-Rex come from? He crashes through the fence....but after he's gone there is no ground. Instead there's a bottomleess pit behind the fence, lol.

Got a feeling that this will come in at 100mins or less, a bad sign for the films quality if it happens imo.

I think it might be upwards of 3 hours based on how bad absolutely goddamn dreadful the CGI is. If it was short, they'd have more time to focus on the individual scenes instead of rushing it and putting out garbage.

That's true. I love the animatronics in TLW though. JP3 was a colossal ...well..no, JP 3 doesn't exist.

My biggest complaint about Jurassic Park II wasn't so much the animatronics or the CGI. It was the soundtrack. A friend and I saw this in the theatre when it was released, and the one thing that grated on me more than anything else was the really poor use of John Williams Jurassic Park Overture. The new composer would shovel it into the movie at the worst times and overuse it every chance he could get.

At least John Williams had the decency to make a new main theme for the Lost World and not recycle his previous work.

Just a feeling thats all. I smell another JP3 with this.

I don't know how you can get any such vibes from a trailer that barely relays any information (frustratingly so).

This is the Jurassic Park 3 trailer, and nowhere in this trailer is there even a hint that it is actually as garbage as it truly is.

The majority of criticisms I've seen about Jurassic World (it's campy, CGI-heavy, fake looking, silly story) is the least of JP3's problems; it's far, far, FAR deeper than that, and you could only feel that despair and emptiness by actually watching that movie. I feel like it's almost impossible for Jurassic World to be as bad as JP3.

I daresay Jurassic World seems like it's coming from a more honest place than The Lost World. Spielberg himself lost the passion for the franchise while directing The Lost World (though I still enjoyed it enough), and Joe Johnston just came in to pump out a corporate sequel because they wanted to keep the sequel train going (a JP sequel every 4 years).

Man, the delivery of some of those lines was appalling. This looks super cheesy, and not in a good way. That's early CG, right? The shark and the water wave look awful. I do have some hope from the opening of the trailer though, had a really nice build!

I really like this shot:

And this one:

I agree, shit looks awesome.

The thing that always bugged me about JP was the ninja T-Rex popping up out of nowhere, from inside the building, to save the day and attack the raptors so Grant and co can escape

Those Chris Pratt lines must be a result of bad trailer editing. I can't imagine it being that bad in the final cut.

I'm almost positive that each sentence uttered in that trailer was spliced from different parts of different conversations. The trailer team just did a ridiculously lazy job with it lol

Was watching the movie last night. Aren't the jeeps on the other side of the Tyrannosaur paddock on the ride back? The track loops around the park, they're not on the same side as they were during the day. At least that was the impression I got.

I really like this shot:

In one of the scenes from the supposed trailer leak
it showed what looked like the two boys in the bubble being attacked by a T-rex like creature
. Can you confirm that? That would explain why they were wandering the park, though if it was IR, how the hell you gonna survive that in such a tiny bubble...

Nope they are on the same side. It's one of the biggest movie mistakes ever imo, lol.

BTW: When the Jeeps reaching the T-Rex enclosure (daytime) there's a hole in the wall ( a part of the fence is missing), lol.

"Spared no expense"

edit: There it is:

Are you talking about JP1?

In movie magic fashion they just flipped the cars around on the track to go back the way they came. If they were on the other side of the Rex paddock, the fence would be on their left side instead of the right. Plus that same goat is there on the ride back.

Woudn't be possible if they looped around to the other side, assuming there is one.

I keep trying to make sense of this statement but my head hurts too much.

As if a movie has to be two hours or more to be good. You need to see more movies, man.

Agreed. The Compy puppets were brilliant, and they put the T-Rex animatronics to really good use. And yes, JP3, what's that.

I didn't dislike the animatronics in TLW, necessary, but JP did a MUCH better job transitioning or matching the CG shots with practical shots.

JP, up until recently, still managed to trick me on which shots are practical and which are CG. In TLW/JP3, I can probably point out every single shot that's practical vs CG. They're just not handled with the finesse of the original, IMO.

From the footage, it was hard to tell what it was. But it seems like it was one of the two.

"In addition to being partially shot on a larger gauge, Jurassic World will also be filmed in 3D (not post-converted), so that the T-Rexes and velociraptors can come roaring out of the screen as well."

Linky

Can't wait!!!

Hellll yeah. Will make my day one IMAX viewing optimal.

When the Jeeps reaching the T-Rex enclosure (daytime) there's a hole in the wall ( a part of the fence is missing), lol.

Is that hole there at night? The night scenes don't have a clear shot of it so I don't remember.

There is a -slight- defense for it because it looks like there's a steep inclined drop where the fence stops, judging from the tops of the trees. It's still a safety oversight though.

Is there a single music album, video game or movie GAF doesn't complain about?

No man The Lost World sucked.
Uncharted 3? Pshh that was trash.

GAF is not a hivemind and indiviuals all have their own opinion. SHOCKING, I know!

I didn't like what I saw in the Trailer but maybe that changes until the film releases here.

It looks just as generic and silly as I thought it would be.
That part with Pratt and the raptors was pretty corny; the scene was trying way too hard to be "badass".
Also the mutant Dinosaur is just stupid, plain and simple; the justification for why they made it is flimsy at best and it really shows how desperate the filmmakers are to make a bit of coin from this film franchise.
UGH!...cash grab all the way.

Hopefully we can actually get an exciting ambitious well-thought out Dinosaur flick that actually respects science, sci-fi fans, movie-goers, paleontologist, and paleobuffs one of these days because this sure ain't gonna be it.

Just realized, why isn't Kathleen Kennedy listed as one of the producers on the projects?

I remember her being associated to the project early on - she's produced most of Steven Spielberg's pics too so I am shocked I don't see her name.

Maybe because of her new position at Disney/Lucasfilm?
