I finally broke down and bought Geometry Wars and have been playing it obsessively. My friend and I were addicted to playing the demo from day one but for some reason never actually bought the game.

PGR3 is a great start. The next game you need is Oblivion.

I might be getting a 360 too. I'm Waiting until after E3 though.

i was planing to do the same.
wait for E3 to compare ps3 and 360.

but i figured to wait till the end of this year is too long assuming there is no more delays for ps3.

and i really wanted to try xbox live since usually i play alone and got sick of offline gaming.


also the system has some games i want, MS sure will annouce some new exclusives at E3 and some intresting first party games. so i am all set.


and for the worst of it, if i save 60$ every month starting from next month, i would have money for ps3 if things went down with xbox 360 which wont happen

Congrats! Nice timing... I just bought one last night at Costco, and am pretty impressed so far, too, even though I only have 1 game (same as you with PGR3). The music/picture sharing thing is kinda wonky, but I'm sure I just need to look around to figure out how to make it work more like XBMC. I was really impressed with the packaging, and I did laugh (like everyone else) when I saw the power brick and the industrial-strength plug that goes into the back of the 360. It wasn't until yesterday that I truly appreciated how great it is to be able to turn the console on and off from the controller, and to be able to access the dashboard, etc. from within the games. I've known this for a long time, and deal with these systems at work, but at home, it takes on a whole different level of convenience. I only have a Gamer Score of 20 so far :lol (and my Gamer Tag is the same as here, ghibli99), but I'm really enjoying the system.

You know...its kind of funny...I read about people getting the red ring of light....but I have never even had so much as a hiccup in my system since I got it ~Jan.04......is the problem really that prevalent?....Are there any hard numbers out there?

There was a topic about this just a few days ago. The vast majority never had a problem with their 360. It's just that the few who had a problem (and I'm one of them) have been very vocal about it.

but you were talking about the launch console you got. and that you have the japanese version and its fine.


anyway isnt red ring means over heating?
i played yusterday for 2 hours none stop and it was perfect smooth.

I just ordered one, too.

I felt like an idiot because I found a like-new, used Japanese launch pack for 29,800 yen ( ~US$250) right after I ordered a new one, but with the 13% points back from Yodobashi, it's not a huge difference.

Should be enjoying Oblivion by the end of the week!
