This scares the shit outta me, I just bought a PSP with the plan to mod, what is a good site for instructions/downloads? Is this softmodding risky? It there an EASY to install Hard Mod?

You got my sympathy. Bricked my Ceramic White unit a few months ago. Although in retrospect, my mistake must have been not formatting my memory stick. Didn't say that in the readme file, but later found that out on message boards all over. Got a Silver unit now, and upgraded to 3.03 and I don't know if I want to mess with homebrew again. :-\

Do you know if there'd be any trouble connecting to US servers to play, say, Socom or MGSO, or can it only connect to PAL servers? Sorry if it's a dumb question, but I must know!

I could be wrong but....

There is no difference between any region except the language which you can easily change upon start up and the fact that you can't watch Region 1 movies...

Then you can set it up the Internet and it should be like using a US PSP.

Again I could be wrong but I doubt it.

So now I have a working PSP again and can play Patapon! which is good, as otherwise I woudl have bought one.

shit, didn't realise. Basically I bought a new white PSP, bricked it,and my friends and GAF mocked me. So i gave it to a guy at work who was going to gut it for spares and make one good one out of two.

only recently with a friend talking about time machine or something did the ID storage patch get mentioned. Luckily my PSP was still untouched so we gave it a go.

Yeah I was gonna suggest this, but then I saw your thread necromancy. Anyway congrats on unbricking it, you might want to create a backup file in case anything like that happens again.
