Just Cause 2 Demo Impressions - 360/PS3/PC

Playing it right now, resolution is to big for my 1280 x 1024 monitor, at least the loading screens are.
 
Hopefully Valve time doesn't screw us over too much. I'll post some pretty pictures for everyone once I get hold of the PC version.
 
Omg. I'm killing everyone and blowing up cars and shit and jumping on flying helicopters and kicking ass. Yeah, I would've loved that game if I was 14 ugh.

You're basically an action star in a popcorn film, what do you expect? Game looks like it'll be much better than the first.

Agreed. Still not sure if I'm getting day one, but I liked the freedom in the first so much that I hoped they'd make a proper sequel.

Will set this to download and play on a full tank of sleep.
 
Didn't they say the full island is like 100 square miles? And the demo is only a third of that, game is going to be massive!

The entire island of Panau will be about 400 square miles. The map in the demo is going to be limited to 35.

Even if all you could do in the game was airlift tanks and parachute around I'd still have fun.

Edit: This has the best main menu I've ever seen on a current gen console game. Nice and quick, small text, no lengthy transitions.

Wow Wow Wow. I might have to buy this game for the base jumping, and parachute exploration alone. I haven't felt such freedom while moving since Crackdown came out. The fact that you can go to all those mountain ranges is mindblowing.
 
The corner of the PDA says "Demo Time Left" but it hasn't changed from 30 minutes since I started.

Edit: Oh, I guess I had to leave the first settlement. Hopefully someone can remove the timer from the PC demo.
 
C'mon people. Stop downloading and play already! I don't need to read all these posts about how you're downloading it. Damn, I'm just jealous. Stupid PS3

Yeah the demo is pretty big with tons of stuff to blow up. Upon seeing the whole map though I kind of gasped. It's super fun to use the parachute and the gunplay seems pretty good so far. Grappling dudes and putting them on... anything? Satisfying as hell. I was already day one for sure but waiting on the PC demo to decide what I get it for.
 
I did something or other and got a "Demo Time Extended" notification, not sure why.

Overloading the Bio Fuel Depot and grappling all the way back out the top was awesome.

Oooh you can detach mounted machine guns a la Halo 3.

I've heard that's supposed to happen if you're good at acting like a jerk (i.e. creating "chaos" by blowing shit up). Also how you unlock new missions in the full game.

Unless I dreamt that.
 
I just went up super high in the hellicopter and dropped for ages, ended up in some odd area, grabbled a car jumped in it jumped onto the top of the car from that onto a bike going past then took the bike over a jump and parchuted off again.


This is too much fun.
 
HOLY CRAP DAY ONE BUY

I just car surfed MY OWN CAR, hooked on to a police vehicle, hooked that vehicle to a cliff so that it ended up dangling over the cliff, and hooked BACK to my original jeep that was Ghostriding the whole time. WTF:lol :lol :lol

And there's a plane in the demo with the easiest plane controls I've ever played with that allows for some crazy stunts. I did not expect this to feel so polished.
 
Had a hard time trying to stick to and ride a gas tank like you see in the video, but finally got it. Vehicles handle much better compared to the first game too. Climbed up to the radio tower by the first mission and had guys parachuting in as reinforcements to stop me.:lol
 
I can't get the Black Market Beacon thing to work...the "Press Y" prompt goes away almost as soon as it comes up and I don't even know what's supposed to happen...

Lol I just pulled a guy off a motorcycle with the grapple, then grappled again to get onto the seat before it stopped rolling forward.

The evasive roll needs a few extra frames of animation.
 
Already have this one preordered for 360, nice to hear the positive impressions thus far. Cant wait to get home and download this sucka! Stupid, stupid work : ( Its like Im here 5 days a week or something.

So is the 30min time limit per session? As in I can quit and start it again without issue?
