Just got my Wisdom Teeth Pulled. All 4 of them

I've had all mine out as well. I had them taken out two at a time and both times I had no pain at all. I had them taken out at the hospital by an oral surgeon and he was fantastic.

I had incredible tooth pain once (abscess) that even oxycodone did not cut completely. I was supposed to have that tooth removed by the surgeon who prescribed me the oxy, but chickened out after my wife ended up having a root canal from a specialist around the same time because her chickenshit dentist wouldn't do one on her (at some 32 weeks pregnant). $1600 down the drain with no coverage.

So to pay about half that for my tooth when the pain eventually subsided anyway...nope.

The oxycodone was awesome, though.

had 8 teeth pulled for my orthodontics when I was younger. local anesthesia too so I remember the entire process, blood squirts and everything.

try to get some sleep if it's possible. I also think the headache are a side effect of the surgery, you just had 4 teeth ripped out of your head.

I have all of my teeth in. Dentist wanted to pull them but the reasoning he gave did not convince me. He said that they are "a little close" to the molars and that taking them out would be easy. He said in the future there could be problems but he wasn't sure. I am 27 years old now and have had zero cavities in my life and zero tooth pain so I think I am good. I know that this sounds a little stupid as usually one should trust their doctors but he literally couldn't give a reason to me and just wanted them out just because. I told him I needed more of a reason than just because.

Be thankful you're able to even get them out.

Feel better :)

Ive probably experienced the worse pain imaginable, you know how I said ive been getting headaches on the side of my head? I pretty much confirmed it has to do with my gums where m ywisdom teeth use to be, the more sore or swollen they're the worse my head feels and the tonight was the absolute worse, doing some googling the 3rd night is usually the worse especially when it comes to swollen gums and it has been killing me all day, even when I took several naps, tonight it reached a all time high that i was in bed holding my head until I felt the motivation to get up, grab my painkillers, my ice pack ad head to the kitchen for some ice cream, changed ice packs and everything, headed back to my room where I continued to shake and having a throbbing head, im guessing the painkillers kicked cause I can actually stare at my computer screen now. But god, I dont like this, I just want this week to be over, merely on the fact that I most likely will be in alot less pain.
And also so my breath wouldnt smell horribly.

When you look at the empty sockets where your wisdom teeth were, do you see white tissue? You're in the timeframe where you could be experiencing dry socket. If you get nerve pain along your jaw or ear, then you probably have it.

How much do you guys think it would cost to get 1 wisdom tooth pulled out? No insurance, of course (dental insurance is a scam).

There is this dentist place right next to my apartments, I can just walk home afterwards after getting this done on a Friday.

Yeah I had all four out at once. It was fine. Mouth felt shitty for about 4-5 days then back to normal except some big holes where teeth used to be.

Does anyone know how to clean those holes? I'm super conscious about that stuff, I try to maintain it super clean but I can't. I went to the dentist today for a regular control and he cleaned up the leftovers I left for over a week (gross, I know). I don't want that part to become infected

Several hundred dollars + more depending on the anesthesia. Cost also varies by doctor. You'll think twice about that scam once you get the bill.

Seems like I'm just about the only person to not be absolutely miserable after my wisdom teeth removal. Had all 4 taken out at once, was eating pizza and cutting grass the next day and even managed to not notice that I tore and swallowed all my external (non-dissolvable) stitches. I guess my oral surgeon is a miracle worker.

I was knocked out cold when I got my wisdom teeth removed. I remember waking up still in the chair (the operation had just finished) and not feeling sleepy or weird at all. On my way to the pharmacy to get my pain meds the numbness went away and was replaced by the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. The pills didn't really help at all either :'(

I guess im pretty lucky.. Got almost all 4 of my wisdom teeth grown in, the 4th is just starting to come through. No pain or anything. My teeth are pretty straight, I got some good genes for them so I think im solid. Hoping to not ever have to get them removed.

Just whatever you do, pray you don't get dry socket.

Apparently thats exactly what happened, but my gums hurt and swelled but they were really manageable, and at times didnt hurt at all, the problem is, one of my wisdom teeth were coming in at the side and so the dentist had to cut into it and get it out, so the blood clot only half formed there and not all the way, the thing is it was giving me headaches out the wazoo, some really bad ones at that, so I wasent really experiencing it like everybody else would.

I let mine grow, all four of 'em. I've had some problems with them from time to time, like milder inflammation and such, but all in all it hasn't been that bad. Now they're perfectly aligned with my other teeth and they don't bother me at all.

I lucked out with my teeth. Never had to get braces or a retainer and didn't even have to remove my wisdom teeth. I still did though because they aren't really useful. Thankfully it was incredibly easy. I never experienced any pain. My sister had impacted wisdom teeth though.
