Just had an epiphany. Milk before cereal.

Nope.

Cereal before milk. Hell, I even push down the cereal slightly to get more milk in.

And even when the cereal turns to mush, I solve the problem by drinking the milk and chewing whatever's still left. Win-win as it also quenches my thirst.

holy shit

Terrible. You put the cereal in first so that you don't over or under fill with milk. I don't want the cereal to soak up all the milk and leave me with nothing to drink after. That would also leave some cereal bone dry and too crunchy. You also don't want to over fill because then you might spill some on the way to your destination. The cereal will then risk getting soggy too fast.

You pour the desired cereal amount in the bowl and the milk over it. This gets the top later nice and coated, but doesn't get it too soggy so that whenever you get a spoonful you have a nice mixture of just-right-soggy from the bottom, just-right-crunchy from the top, and some milk.

Welcome to the art of cereal eating.

By putting milk in last, the cereal is exposed to milk for a shorter amount of time as I can pour milk and recap it faster than I can shake out the proper amount of cereal and roll up the top of the bag and tuck the box tab.

You are a fool. Cereal goes in bowl. Honey goes on cereal. Milk is SLOWLY poured over cereal in quantity sufficient to dissolve all honey and slightly moisten all cereal, and not a drop more. Everyone always makes a swimming pool and tries to drown it in the stuff, then wonders why their cereal is soggy. Sheesh.

DA FUCK!

If that's how you're gonna roll, why not just cut the top off the milk carton and pour the cereal into that? By the time you get to the bottom you should have the most glorious cerealified milk ever consumed.

When I used to eat cereal more regularly I would not only add the cereal after the milk, but would heat up the milk first. I always likened cereal to oatmeal in terms of the content of what you're basically eating.

And I actually kinda liked soggy cereal. Never realized how fanatical people were about cereal til I saw another cereal thread on hear a couple years back.

The hell... Next thing someone is going to say they put Ketchup on their cereal...

WHERE IS THE MADNESS GOING TO END?

Nope. I disagree with this method. Pour the cereal into the bowl, and carefully pour the amount of milk that you're comfortable with.

You will have soggy cereal that way. Most cereal is very porous so when you pour milk over it the cereal readily absorbs the milk. However if you pour the milk into the bowl first then the cereal, it should float on the milk preserving its crunch.

Here's something I do: honey with your cereal. You can still put a small amount of milk, but dry cereal with a tablespoon of honey, all mixed together, is like eating a chewy, awesome flapjack (depending on cereals/what you mix in with your cereal).

Yes, you should MIX cereals (why restrict yourself to one flavour?), adding stuff like figs/fudge/glace cherries, etc., according to taste. You know, anything that would be lethal to a diabetic. I probably crave the sugar because I do a lot of exercise, but I have always LOVED cereal (breakfast is my favourite meal of the day).

I'm not advocating eating this kind of thing more than once per day, but as part of a balanced diet this is better for you than the alternative of sweets/flapjacks/pastries. And honey is GREAT for you.

No, I do not work for a honey manufacturing company, nor am I a spy planted to infiltrate humankind by evil bee overlords. There's a reason Egyptians poured this stuff all over themselves, and why you can still eat it from jars sealed thousands of years ago. It's a natural antibiotic and will make you more attractive to the opposite sex (okay, maybe that last part is an exaggeration).

Why does hate people soggy cereal, it's delicious and better

certain cereals are better soggy to me personally.
Frost flakes soggy. Great!
Pop or Smacks Soggy? bleh

Last year when my wife got on her better living kick she purchased some special K that came with a cereal bowl; with instructions!!!! Those instructions say to pour the milk first. She's been doing it ever since. I rarely eat cereal but when I do it's cereal first. Then again my bowls are usually of the cake mixing variety.

I just fill a glass with milk, pour in a bit of milk as I need it, and once the cereal is gone I drink the rest of the milk.

Hmmm...

Maybe the soggy cereal can be deep fried, reacquiring crispness.

Who's dudebro enough to take one for the team and do it?

a simpler solution to your soggy cereal would be to eat it before it got soggy..

the only cereal that gets soggy extremely quick is Pops. idk why but im pretty sure it comes pre-soggy.

1. Bowl
2. Smoke Bowl
3. Bowl
4. Fill with milk
5. Add cereal in small portions until milk is gone.
6. Drink glass of orange juice
7. Hate yourself for having fiber and dairy to start your day.

...

your welcome.
