Just Had Chick-fil-A for the first time

I don't patronize them anymore, but I do miss the spicy chicken sandwich and their peach milkshakes.

Edit: Dan Cathy doubled-down and tweeted shit about the repeal of DOMA before someone in PR told him to delete that shit.

God he's such an ass.

Chick-fil-A is definitely one of the best fast food joints I've been to. Obviously that's a relative measure and they aren't going to compare to a real restaurant, but sometimes I'm in the mood for fast food or it's just the most convenient option.

Love the food. Not at all a fan of their founder's views, but I'm not going to boycott them.

Always get a #1 without pickle. Sure, it might be a bit bland, just having the meat and bun (maybe I should get lettuce on it more often?), but it's so delicious.

Did try the spicy one once, but I generally hate spicy food, so not going to be a regular fixture in my visits there.

I've yet to try it as there isn't one a convenient distance from my house but I do drive by one every week. I might try it out next time I'm there.

I'm not familiar with their menu so please shoot me some recommendations guys and gals, I'm going all out when I go.

Spicy Chicken Deluxe with waffle fries dipped in Chick Fil A sauce with a lemonade is my usual.

If you don't like spicy food, the regular chicken sandwich is also delicious as are the nuggets.

Is he also upset that you can't buy black people anymore? Because I'm pretty sure the founding fathers would've been immensely upset over that as well.

I am banned from a local one. Food is good but it's not out of this world good and I don't like the goody goody atmosphere of the workers there.

From the actual restaurant

Kenji goes through a lot of work to get the recipe as close as possible.[/QUOTE]

It's not the same if it hasn't been sitting in a space age flavor enhancing aluminum foil baggie for atleast a few minutes. That's the secret.

Glad somebody's talking some sense in here.

I have to wonder if this could potentially lead to a George Zimmer-style scenario (in which the founder/owner is fired by the board). At this point I would almost expect it seeing as having Cathy around is potentially bad for their bottom line.

It's a private, family-owned company.

They don't answer to shareholders or a board of directors.

I had it for the first time on Wednesday and thought it was amazing.

I remember when everyone was boycotting Chick-Fil-A so they would make their own chicken sandwich, trying and get as close to Chick-Fil-A's recipe as possible. They would go "OMG IT'S SO GOOD" and all it would do is make me want to go to Chick-Fil-A. May as well have been holding up a giant sign telling people to eat there.

I don't know if all places are like this but the one I went to is usually busy as hell no matter the time or day. After you order you basically have to stand next to the counter in some small area waiting for your order. What happened next really isn't my fault, it is, but at the same time it isn't. They usually fulfill orders one at a time and they have one person doing it not really in tuned with any of the people taking orders so people can easily just grab any other's person's order and just leave. When my order came, I ended up taking three different person's orders too because I wasn't thinking. We walked out and that was the end of that. And I know about getting banned because we also had a friend working there and she basically said that. They weren't happy and were basically wondering what was going on for a while. Well, I didn't realize I took so many other people's orders until I checked the bags. LOL.

What an odious twat, couching his hate in patriotic euphemism. "Cornerstone of strong societies." Biggest load of shit I've read in a year.

Never had Chik-fil-A, never gonna

Weird how in that post he said it was trivial in comparison to the economy, and now it is trivial compared to chicken. I guess he just didn't want to outright state that he knows nobody personally that is gay so he gives zero fucks about them.

Going to CFA doesn't mean you don't care about gays or anyone else. Talking in general - not speaking for this person at all.

Chick-fil-A was the only place that had decent unsweetened iced tea by my house. And the people that worked there never uttered a single negative word in my presence, unlike most of the fast food joints in the area.

I'll give them a pass on their owner being a jackass. Same for Microsoft and Apple. :P

Yeah I love Chick-fil-A. Never had them where I used to live, but now I do here and it's great. Not only are the chicken sandwiches good, but they are also top-tier when it comes to chocolate shakes in my opinion.

The constant "My pleasure" annoys me, but I do respect their decision to close on Sundays.

I know. I didn't say that. But saying "Homophobia doesn't bother me" seems to suggest that. Kind of why I was only talking about that poster since he literally said that.

This thread made me hungry for Chick-Fil-A, so I got some on my way home from work.

It has been raining all day, but as I pulled up to the drive thru window the sun came out and as I was pulling away I saw a rainbow.

Was that you God?

If I genuinely thought that my few dollars affected the business of big corporations I'd be vegan.

I'm not. Hence, I enjoy chik fil a every now and again. I don't think they're as good as everyone says, however.

What about Microsoft getting rid of the DRM policies on the Xbox One? Voting with your wallet can actually work in a capitalist society if you can get enough people to vote with you.

We have a Chick-Fil-A at the food court of my college campus, but they only serve the regular chicken sandwich (which looks like crap), chicken nuggets, fries, and salads. I don't like them that much, although I have yet to go to a real restaurant.

Yeah I have the same problem with my college CFA. I swear it has to be something exclusive to them. The food is crap there, but I think it may be decent at real CFAs.

If you're lucky enough to live near one of the eight Nando's in the US then you've got to eat there.
There are 65 of their restaurants across London alone! It is god tier chicken though, so addictive.

I work at the one near my house. Every single day we get flooded with mobs of customers. I know the food is good but holy shit I would never stand in line for over half an hour just to eat fast food. Their chicken ain't THAT good.

People actually stand in line for half an hour for fast food? What!? Are you the only place in your town?

What is the issue with Chick-fil-a? is it that there a christian company? if so isn't it the same as donating money to the church? I think they do far more good then bad (and bad is subjective)

No, the issue is that they donate to anti-gay groups. Which isn't like donating money to a church since not all church's donate to those groups.

Lines going out the door or all the way to the back of the building is a normal day. We're the only Chick-fil-A in the area and we also happen to be located right across the highway from a big air force base. I found out not long ago the week before they hired me they had to install a second drive thru lane because they were having problems with too much traffic. It's still gets ridiculous but I can't even imagine how much worse it used to be.

Chick-Fil-A must be a drug to a lot of these people.
