Just played the Ninja Gaiden 3 RE's demo on PSN...

...and I'm pissed.

Not because of any lack of quality for the demo. On the contrary, the demo for the PS3 version seems to run just fine. What I am pissed about, is I am one of those people who gave into the hype of the Wii U version, and it was one of my launch games for the system. I always did think Razor's Edge was a better version of the original NG3, and I had no issues with the improvements they did make in the game. However, my issue is how badly optimized I felt the Wii U version was. It ran alright sometimes, but it got to the point where the frame rate was so bad at times, that it ruined the fluidity, and flow of combat. Not only that, but I found that the Wii U version had some very jaggy looking character models, and it wasn't always very pretty.

Played the demo for this PS3 version just before this, and it looks, and runs great. Not a problem there, in fact most people should celebrate that there is a great version to play of this on PS3, and probably on Xbox 360 as well. What does suck is that early adopters, or people who actually give into these game studios hype are never rewarded! I'm not complaining about the lack of exclusivity, even though I got the Wii U version thinking it would stay exclusive, but I hate thinking I have an inferior version of the game.

NG3RE was not a completely new game, and the Wii U isn't exactly complex hardware that should have been as hard to optimize for that some games make it appear to be. For a game as reliant on quick reflexes and timing, this game should have had solid frame rate on all platforms.

I completely enjoyed the demo, except for those bosses at the end. Died like 3 times fighting them, but I guess that should be a good thing.

Sucks for people like you OP who bought the Wii U version, but what I can say? Better to trade in the Wii U version while it's still worth something.

Wait, are you telling me a game that was built for the PS3/360, that tecmo has had years of experience working on, runs better on those systems, rather than the completely new hardware of the Wii U, which they had less than a year to port and make new content for?

Get out of town.

Wait, Razor's Edge's demo is up on PSN? Or are you talking the normal Ninja Gaiden 3 demo? Or Japan?

Any tips on Ayane's boss? I'm having trouble with hers.

Apparently you can unlock Kasumi in the demo, but I have no idea how.

I didn't have significant slowdowns outside of online play and chapter challenge.
Wii U version gets updates regularely, so the PS360 versions will be the same game.

I agree, bought on release for PS3....it was horrid, so I traded it in. Needed some WiiU games to play and heard it was better. Bought it on WiiU, then a better version comes on PS3/360 (which I rather have). I wasted so much money on NG3 and feel burned.

In general I think you should avoid playing the Wii U version of multiplat games if you have the option. It has, what, one superior port? AC3? And I think even that's debatable.

I'm not sure why anybody would care about this game anymore. 3 releases and it's still shit from top to bottom, a disgrace to the series. The ship has sailed, give it up, start over.

The profanity is juvenile. Cursing doesn't bother me, hell I do it all the time, but when I'm playing the game and enemies keep saying shit and fuck about 250 times within a minute, it's pretty off-putting. I had to stop playing due to it. Not sure why there has to be so much cursing in a ninja combat game.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is pretty good on Wii U also. Only downfall of that version for me is not enough people online.

Lol, same thought I have had as a PS3 owner for the past 6 years...

That seems to be a good one too, yeah. And yeah, the problem that game and CoD have on Wii U is low traffic online.

Trine 2 was great, and it looks like Need for Speed Most Wanted U will be great as well, but other than that...yeah.

Anywho, I feel like the Wii U version is pretty good actually, and it constantly gets updated so there's hope for Wii U owners yet. :)

Skylanders' also "superior" (1080p, more control options, off-TV). Need for Speed hopefully will be too.

But, no co complaints here. Never had a problems with slowdown, though I heard some had plenty, and the Wii U game has everything, aside the extra costume you unlock by having a save on NG3. I do hope they lower the price of the Wii U version after this release, but doubt it.

It's just sad, because the framerate is really terrible... and I've bought it online just days before they announced the PS360 version =/

I don't mind if the textures are really better on the PS3 version, I just want a better framerate =/

You might want to avoid Metal Gear Rising as well, then (the same applies to it). Doesn't bother me, though, just a heads-up.

Playing the demo now. Finished it twice so far. Tons of content (Unlockable difficulties, upgrades etc.).

Runs miles smoother than the Wii U version, and I swear it looks better too. It actually looks really nice.

EDIT: Your save carries over to the full game, too.

I died a few times until I had enough Karma to level up her weapon. They are way underpowered for those bosses. These gave access to new moves. I pretty much just spammed any combo that consisted of heavy attacks since they have problems blocking/dodging them. Make sure to save Ninpo from the Spider Clan fight before the boss fight so you can heal during the boss fight.

What was most frustrating was that Ayane seemed to constantly switch targets, made it difficult to focus on just one guy.

As far as Kasumi goes, I think you have to keep playing higher difficulties until she unlocks.

Holy crap. Even on Hero mode this is hard. The original PS3 demo was a cakewalk. These guys don't let up. Those guys at the end of Ryu's part were fun though. But I feel bad getting beat so bad on Normal as I was pretty good on the first two games. I guess it doesn't help I don't have some of the skills I liked to use for crowd control, like being able to leap at enemies and throw them and stuff.

Close up, Ryu looks amazing. But the environments are kinda meh. like boxes with wallpaper to make it seem like you're somewhere. lol. =P

I'm really curious has any of these "better on wii U" games actually been better on the platform.

From what iv seen

Batman AC Worse
Black Ops 2 Worse
Razors Edge Worse
