...and I'm pissed.
Not because of any lack of quality for the demo. On the contrary, the demo for the PS3 version seems to run just fine. What I am pissed about, is I am one of those people who gave into the hype of the Wii U version, and it was one of my launch games for the system. I always did think Razor's Edge was a better version of the original NG3, and I had no issues with the improvements they did make in the game. However, my issue is how badly optimized I felt the Wii U version was. It ran alright sometimes, but it got to the point where the frame rate was so bad at times, that it ruined the fluidity, and flow of combat. Not only that, but I found that the Wii U version had some very jaggy looking character models, and it wasn't always very pretty.
Played the demo for this PS3 version just before this, and it looks, and runs great. Not a problem there, in fact most people should celebrate that there is a great version to play of this on PS3, and probably on Xbox 360 as well. What does suck is that early adopters, or people who actually give into these game studios hype are never rewarded! I'm not complaining about the lack of exclusivity, even though I got the Wii U version thinking it would stay exclusive, but I hate thinking I have an inferior version of the game.
NG3RE was not a completely new game, and the Wii U isn't exactly complex hardware that should have been as hard to optimize for that some games make it appear to be. For a game as reliant on quick reflexes and timing, this game should have had solid frame rate on all platforms.
