Ive played most of the games listed in this thread but no game does blade runner better than technobabylon imo.

That's why I stopped using the hashtag. ...I still say I stand for equality, I still stand for journalistic integrity. But using the hashtag is bad because it put me in a group and a trench that I don't want to be part of. I prefer to build bridges. Not being entrenched.
Because I think nothing good ever comes out that is interesting or positive from this trench war. That's why I started distancing myself from GamerGate. I can't accept any part in harassment. As soon as that was happening I stopped using that. I regret reopening that wound for many people who were hurt by it. I really, really do. I am working with people, at Raw Fury and everything, who have been suffering with it. And so I saw the consequences directly. And I just feel terrible about that.
I don't want people to have the wrong impression of what The Last Night is about. When I was talking about how feminism has an impact in the future the way I said it was really bad. For me I was toying about the idea of what social movements can lead to in 50 years. There are so many themes in The Last Night that I wanted to cover, if I'm going to paint a comprehensive view of the future.
And so about feminism, the thing is, I was thinking that some feminists say the last barrier between men and women is the fact they carry children. Pregnancy. And because it makes it harder to get hired for instance. When you're pregnant you can't party, you can't drink, you can't smoke, everything gets really complicated. I understand that.
And I was thinking maybe in this future we came up with artificial wombs. Where you are free from having to carry your kid. And so then you know, cool, you can continue to do what you want. You can work, you can continue to drink or smoke if you want. That's it! I don't think it's bad or good in any way. The only thing I'm trying to say is I'm trying to imagine what could happen if I push that into the future.

It's a fantastic game and well worth checking out, even today.
They greatest strength is its non-linearity. The story evolves very differently depending on how you play
This x 1000000000000Play Snatcher as soon as you can.
Snatcher
Unfortunately it goes for an exuberant price
Definitely The Last Night, but it isn't out yet.

This game is everything blade runner made good but better... that storyline, impossible to forget.
Probably true, but IMHO there's nothing wrong in saying "the art is awesome, I'm hyped for that. Let's wait and see how the story ends out being". And actually, after reading how he explained his ideas after the shitstorm (like in the Vice article linked before), I'm not so sure they would be so outrageous or uninteresting. Yes, cyberpunk is about exploring and extremizing social themes, and his views on some of these could be interesting to see, outside of a couple of very bad tweets. As for The Last Night, we all often try to separate creator and creation, but 1) cyberpunk is a genre built on philosophical exploration and social themes, 2) the game is supposed to be very narrative-driven, and 3) said narrative is built around the developers opinions and beliefs as mentioned in the thread. And thus its compromised at its core.
I haven't played Snatcher, is the story that good? I may need a Kojima fix soon...
You have no idea !. It take 30 min to get hook, that warehouse section...And this is the festival of really good twist. Also a lot of side content dialog are so funny and good.
In term of quality of the lore and the dialog (the VO is outstanding for the time), i could say this is Xenogears/Chrono trigger level. I mean i played that game in like 2007 the first time. I was just blown away, I bought after a real physical Sega-CD copy like a year later (before the big boom price), i was like see does the game have the same effect on me as the first time... and i think it was even better, because the background help me to understand some really nice detail.
Damn you got me hooked already! So, there are like 6 versions of that game, should I go for the Sega CD one? I've seen that it's the one with most content and less censorship, I think?
He did say that this changed since thenBut the game was conceived out of a sexist understanding of what feminism is by someone who has shown no change or self-awareness. A huge part of compelling cyberpunk relies on a solid grasp of societal issues viewed through a futuristic, dystopic lens. Shoehorning a meninist's nightmare into that setting will make for a stupid story, and the devs have given no reason's to expect anything else. They haven't in any way proven they deserve the benefit of the doubt.
If all it has going for it is that it's gorgeous, I can watch clips online.
I'll wait and see what the previews say about the game. No doubt that journalists will put the games themes under a microscopeSoret swiftly defended himself, tweeting: "I completely stand for equality & inclusiveness." Four hours later, he added, "In no way is The Last Night a game against feminism or any form of equality. A lot of things changed for me these last years."
At E3's PC Gaming Show this afternoon, Soret began his showcase of The Last Night with an apology: "I am embarrassed by some tweets I made in the past. I want to apologize for those. They do not in any way represent who I am today or what The Last Night will be about."
The upcoming Xbox console launch exclusive The Last Night
Classic ones original Deus Ex, Snatcher, Anachronox, Rise of the Dragon, Neocron
Newer ones are new Deus Ex sequels, Gemini Rue, Binary Domain and keep a lookout for Cyberpunk 2077.

How excellent was this game? Not just subject matter either, it actually had interesting mechanics and writing too.
I can't for the life of me understand why someone like GOG doesn't take it on. Threads like these always demonstrated there'd be a market for it especially with the resurgence in point and click adventure games.
As a new Blade Runner film arrives in cinemas today, the video game that shares its name should be front and centre on GOG. But short of rebuilding it brick by brick, Blade Runner will never get a facelift or a new home. In 2003, a terabyte of data was lost. The source code went down the drain, and ever since, Westwood's magnum opus has been buried beneath the weight of time.
Like I said: They haven't in any way proven they deserve the benefit of the doubt. He did say that this changed since then

All of the suggestions mentioned. Does Hard Reset count? It's not really story driven, though.
Nex Machina!!
It has one of the best if not the best gritty neon city in the rain at night looking levels ever.
Plus it's an incredible game.
In addition to all the mentioned examples , you can also look up at Transistor
