Just saw Hachi: A Dog's Tale

Are there any dog films where the dog doesn't die at the end?

No one cared when the blind man died Quill or when Richard Gere died and I'm pretty sure no one would care if Owen Wilson's character died in Marley& me. but dogs dying so easily make people cry.

And I always thought Hachi kept going back to the station because people kept feeding him there.

Did you watch it? What'd you think?

Watched it with the girlfriend. I thought it was much more powerful than almost any so-called "tear-jerker" movies I've ever seen
which is only 2 - Marley and Me and The Notebook, didn't cry =P) I had to keep buckets under my girlfriend's eyes! I recommend watching it if you're in for something really emotionally destroying =(

So it was depressing and I held on to my dog for a good 20 minutes after I saw it :'(

I watched this today. Couldn't help feel that it was pretty messed up that the family didn't force the dog to stay with them. Dog kept waiting for 10 years without really any proper food or shelter. Is that right?

Someones I watch my mother's dog just sit and stare at whatever store entrance she wandered into, and it isn't "noble", it's brainless and sycophantic.

cried like a baby during this move, though ;_;

The way Hachi saw a vision of his friend at the end before he dies hit me hard.

Also, try searching for "A tale of Mari and three puppies" in youtube. That movie broke me aswell.

As a dog owner, movies like these have a much greater effect than those who dont have one.

Cant wait to get home and see my 2 huskies.
