I've noticed now that I live in Texas and Have Whataburger, Fiveguys and In and out to choose from, that the common feeling is you love one, think one is ok and the other sucks.

Whataburger people seem to find Fiveguys to be nothing special (I'm the opposite, I think Whataburger is incredibly flavorless and bland)

In and Out people are just insane, that shit is nasty. Like some of the worst tasting cardboard crap I've ever had. Yet it has such a hardcore client base. I do not know how their tastebuds work.

Granted I have not tried other mid-level burger places so that limits the comparisons.

Few weeks ago I arrived in London and a friend convinced me to try Five Guys. Burger was absolute garbage, tasteless rubbish. Cajun Fries were fantastic. Paid £13.75 for a burger, small fries and a drink.

Yup, I think Smashburger beats out Five Guys. Smashburger has kick-ass burgers, shakes, and fries.

Because of its price, I don't really consider Five Guys in the same fast food tier as I do Whataburger, Wendy's, In-N-Out, etc. but I do really enjoy it. I'd compare it more to Smashburger or something.

As far as cheap fast food goes, Whataburger > In-N-Out, IDGAF what West Coast GAF says.
