What did i just watch? Is this supposed to make like zero sense? Why was a girl sucking up a big black shadow man at the end? Did that dark haired woman marry that big fat guy or something at the end?
That doesn't make either the <nation> version of the other though. They're so incredibly different. George Lucas was inspired by WWII fighter pilot movies with Star Wars; you wouldn't call them related. That was my point.
That Paprika and Inception share the device of going into someone's dreams doesn't make them remotely similar (and thus eligible for '<nation> version of <other nation's art>' title) at all.
I think it's maybe the only movie in that trio to actually seriously attempt dream-like imagery. I don't think Paprika was exploring that so much as exploring fantastical imagery.
