This! So much this!

This is my issue with some people. Dislike a film all you want but stop trying to actually rewrite the film, ignore clear aspects about it or just outright lie about it.

I want better films whether DC or Marvel.. But people are engaging in contests with each other to see who can ignore as much of the film to make bullshit fallacious arguments. Then they'll get butthurt when people say it's too smart for them because they stubbornly cling to bullshit arguments even when rebutted to the point a 5 year old can understand

I was about...90% sure BvS was going to be bad from the moment Doomsday slid down that building.

I personally felt dread the second I heard "Clark Kent meet Bruce Wayne, oooh what a tight grip, don't pick up a fight with this man".

I was like, if a line this bad made it into the movie, and is showcased in the first trailer, there is literally no hope.

He wasn't Superman then. He didn't become that hero overnight... That's the entire point.
He has to be a hero to kick out a drunk asshole in his place of work? Do you think bars don't have people in place to take care of roudy drunk assholes who harass their waitresses like that? Do you think when he was hired, his boss didn't once consider "Hey, this massive dude will also be a big help when dealing with troublesome drunk people"?

No, he couldn't. He doesn't have "superspeed" like Flash in this universe, he gains his speed from boosting himself either thanks to his muscles, or through flight. This isn't smallville. Considering how close to Lois he was, flying at full speed was the only thing he could have done in that situation.
Except for multiple times in the fight against Batman when he goes super fast, and manages to stop suddenly, implying he has superspeed. Or all the times in Man of Steel, when Faora shows off her superspeed. Or when they did all these featurettes for Man of Steel, and had a special on how they presented superspeed.

But okay, maybe he just forgot he had those powers.

Come on now. The guy just tried to murder his fiancée. That's a lot of self control if you remember how he reacted when Zod threatened his mother.

Fair enough.

Here's the thing though, Superman has never faced anybody that could be a threat, safe for the other Kryptonians. He thought Batman was a fly, as illustrated earlier in the movie when he landed and Batman ran over him and crashed his batmobile. To Clark, Batman can't do anything.

He tries to talk, he sees Batman doesn't listen and wants to fight, so Superman initially tries to humor him thinking it would be over in a second.

As soon as Clark is exposed to the kryptonite (something new to him), his mindset entirely changes. It's not "let's show Batman who's the boss so he can listen", it's "survive".
Superman could literally just grab him, hold him up, and say everything he needed to to lay out the situation. Batman sets off multiple gattling guns on Superman, and he just kinda shrugs it off as an annoyance. Hell, just fly him straight up and dangle him by his cape. That fight is utterly pointless.

Captain America is an unaccountable jackass who feels that he should be above the law and feels that the best way to settle arguments by goading people into fights on Shield helicarriers. Unlike Cavill who is man enough to walk away from fights with sexual harassers rather than destroy a small business owner's diner, is more than willing to settle disputes with genocidal warlords by pleading with them before letting fists fly, talks to the army and is willing to work under them, tries to bring about change through non violence by influencing people via the press or talking to them at banquets. But hey Captain America when he steals cars tells people not to put their feet on the dashboard so I guess he represents truth, justice and the American way.

Maybe you should take your own advice? Cause the spin you put on Cap's actions in Winter Soldier falls under "bullshit fallacious arguments". Cause Cap wasn't gonna talk it out with freakin Nazis and to suggest it was even an option is sheer lunacy..

Really? People get upset if you insult their intelligence????? Stop the presses!

Or maybe, the more likely and less insulting answer, is that BvS is just a poorly made movie.

It's not GL and it's not Superman, it's

Martian Manhunter.

If it's J'onn, he better not be the last remaining Martian.

Still not completely sold on Cyborg, but I'll wait until the CGI is fully finished.

Cautiously optimistic, but hopefully it serves as the final push to righting the DC ship.

I don't know why because its so obviously a JL tier hero and my first thought with the vibrations was Superman

but the second Alfred talked my head went to
JasonTodd-RedHood.jpg

which makes little sense and is just silly.

BvS is a poorly made movie, it doesn't mean that people saying fallacious things isn't a problem. This happens with almost every form of media and is actually annoying.

Next I'm going to hear Forrest Gump was some kind of brain surgeon. I don't know what it is that cause people to exaggerate to the point where they're altering the plot and details of a movie but it needs to stop if we're to have actual discussions about the media we consume.

It would be neat to have him pose as Superman to keep the world's hope alive.

They also need a shapeshifter to prove Clark didn't die... somehow
I mean, they legit buried a body, open casket. I really don't know how they'll pull that off. In the comics, Clark Kent was missing and no body was found or buried.

Lol at The Flash, cautious with everything else.

At the very least it looks like it's going to be a fireworks display of a movie so it probably won't be as bad as BvS at the very least.

It's not going to be Superman at the end. He would be able to make the ripples, but he's just going to fly / walk in rather than something so forceful.

Its powersuit Lex.

I will say, where's the military at in the big fight? Batman is shooting parademons, so bullets are effective. I liked how in MoS and BvS had the military try and fight the threat. It's like in The Avengers where the quinjet was super effective and instead of sending in support, they went straight to nuke.

Gotta say, I'm not a big fan of the Martian Manhunter. I'd much rather have brooding Superman again.

That being said, they did a great job of hyping up this mysterious character..
You can clearly see red on the shoulder of this mystery person. Maybe more misdirection?

Superman probably goes to see Alfred, because Superman knows who Batman is and i´m gonna guess also knows where he lives. Alfred´s just outside/garage so he sees him first.

I don't care who it is as long as it isn't Jason.

So yeah, it's totally going to be Jason.

Yes the guy who settled the dispute in a non violent way

? He didn't settle anything. He took off his apron and walked away. The drunk assholes remained, except now with no one around to stop them from harassing the waitress. Him smashing their truck is nothing more than a tantrum, which doesn't solve the immediate issue in any way. Hell, it's not like the guy saw his truck smashed and was like "Oh man, that bartender sure got back at me." Instead he's probably just like "Hey how the fuck did my truck get smashed by a bunch of tree logs? How is this humanly possible?" This shit would practically be on the fucking news.

Yes that Superman who has been shown many times to be able to fly people at supersonic speed in MOS without killing them. It was ambiguous but yes

being caught into a settled stop =/= being driven through several walls at superspeed. Someone being hit by a car at even a fraction of that speed is going to suffer serious injury.

Are you kidding me? Like he said he'd take him in without breaking him meaning he'd not harm him, like seriously. He didn't even raise his voice. But yes that Superman.[/QUOTE]
I'll give that to you, Bleepy. I'm feeling generous.

Yes, that Superman who tried like 3 times to explain himself to a guy who refused to listen. Unlike Cap who said Zemo tricked everyone and then never mentioned it again and then decided to have a big playfight where he felt the need to beat up a child

Spidey makes a move against Cap, Cap counters move. But sure, let's act like everyone knows how young Spider-Man actually is beyond a "youthful" voice.
