Justice League/Unlimited Coming to Blu-Ray

Well despite the dozens of heroes who appear in Unlimited, and the logo, the designs for the core 7 characters at the bottom there are all JL-proper designs. Classic Hawkgirl, GL with hair. Hopefully this means it'll have both.

I hope that's the case, as it would be silly to not include the first two seasons of the show. Granted, the first season was light on character development and solid storytelling, but there were some solid episodes in that first season. Season 2's Comfort & Joy is a personal favourite of the series.

Probably not the thread for it, but thin so don't wanna create a new thread for it

Are we getting a new Justice League cartoon?

Trolled around on LinkedIn and found some credits for a project at WB Animation started in March of 2015 for something called "Justice League: Action."

When this turns out to be fuckingnothing.gif, I'm blaming you two.

Sweet. Now bring Batman Beyond, Batman TAS, and Superman TAS to Blu-Ray :)

I don't think we'll ever see Batman Beyond in any HD format considering it was composed in lo-res digital video.

Batman TAS and Superman TAS on the other hand are very much doable, but need to be remastered.

Well...the first series of beyond was done on cels, I think...plus if the Return of the Joker is anything to go by, it'll be possible, though the standard def origins will probably show up if it's anything like Joker was.

It's been awhile since I watched it on Netflix but I recall even the first season of Justice League looking to be above SD.

Edit: Pulled up the first episode and yep. Definitely not SD, which is crazy given that it was 2001.

HD was a thing in 2001.

So, does this blu-ray collection contain all of Justice League (Seasons 1-4), or is it just Justice League Unlimited?
Didn't I read in this thread, that Justice League (season 1+2) is already on Blu-ray?!?

Still no young justice?
Already available from Warner Archive

Yes but in the context of television animation it's impressive.
To be honest, I don't remember any other big animated from the same timeframe.

The only other one that comes to my mind is Kim Possible, and that at least exist in widescreen, I guess HD as well.

My point of reference are the big shows on the U.S. broadcast networks.
In 2001 Star Trek had switched from Video to HD, and for example West Wing started being broadcast in widescreen (& HD?)

. . . as the best episodes are in 4:3
Season 2 of Justice League, and all of JLU were made in 16:9, the 4:3 versions are just the center.
Season 1 was made in 4:3, but in such a way, that it can be matted for 16:9, most of the time. Another example of this would be Mask Of The Phantasm

Oh wait is it JLU only?

Huh?

Pretty much all the best JL eps will be available in widescreen once the JLU sets come out.

All of JLU in widescreen will give us:

For the Man Who Has Everything
The Greatest Story Never Told
The Return
Task Force X
Question Authority
Panic in the Sky
Divided We Fall
Flash and Substance
Patriot Act
The Great Brain Robbery
Alive!
Destroyer

S2 of JL is widescreen, which gives us:

Twilight
Only a Dream
A Better World
Starcrossed

The only really good eps not available in widescreen are S1's Legends & A Knight of Shadows. But given the way that season was made, I'm happy with the 1:33:1 call that was made for the S1 BD's.

Gonna try my luck at Best Buy/Target proper before ordering online!

Also kind of disappointed no new features
Really would like commentary on the Cadmus arc!

Agreed.

Probably tough for Timm since he's probably knee deep in Season 2 of JLU Gods and Monsters Chronicles.

Plus, R.I.P. Dwayne McDuffie
