That's the first I've ever heard of people buying music videos. Sounds pretty stupid, like paying for a movie trailer. But we live in a world where advertising and consumption are essentially merged anyway, so you can't tell the difference between the product and the advertisement. The world of the "ad experience" as they say in marketing lingo. The other day I was watching a red band trailer and had to watch an ad before it; I was stupefied, here I was thinking I was already watching an ad for a movie.

I mean, it'a no different than buying a single from an album. People have been buying music videos since at least when Apple started selling them with the release of the iPod Video in 2006 I think.

WAY before itunes.

They've been selling complete music video discographies, and greatest hit compilations AT LEAST since the DVD format has been around. Probably sold them on VHS too, I don't know.

I think Dr. Luke, and Max Martin produced most of Katy's recent hits, most recently Both of them executive produced Britney's latest album, released just a few months ago. Max has been working with Britney for since her first album, and Dr Luke with Britney since at least 2008. So yeah nothing terribly new but they do make catchy Top 40 tracks.
