It's possible the douche argument is him giving up his seat just so that he grabs the attention of anyone watching. People usually don't give their seat to people unless they're old or pregnant, and the lady was neither. He was just being nice though.

If I was a celeb I would definitely live in NYC because in general this is the treatment you can expect. As a female i don´t have to worry about the 3rd reason to get up aka get up for person your age.. But my problem is defining when a person is elderly, i´m scared to get up for an, in my eyes, elderly person. For it then to turn out the person doesn´t feel that old yet, so he/she gets offended.. Had that happen ones, old grey mister with a walking stick shuffling into the train.. One mad mister..
