Kerrigan is the new Sephiroth

Am I the only one who played Starcraft and didn't follow the storyline one bit? I remember that Kerrigan was a Ghost (I believe there were some missions where she was the main focus). But, god knows when she fucked a zerg and developed wings.
okay i guess starcraft is an old game so this shouldnt be tagged as a spoiler

kerrigan was a terran ghost.. she also was the lover of jim raynor

then she got betrayed by arcturus mengsk

she was captured by the zerg and turned into an invested terran

there she did not have any will at first because of the overmind..

but as the overmind died, because of tassadar, she developed her own mind and became the queen of blades

They are obsessed, they want the world, but it's all lies, they just want the same girl every time, granted is in different timelines, and who knows how Mario works, but yeah, obsession about a girl.

someone didnt play zelda huh

shes all powerfull?
what makes you think that?

the protoss and terran aren't weaksauce
not to mention the supposed GODLIKE xelnaga race that have "returned"

They will all be assimilated. It is inevitable

she handled mengsk, de gaulle and artanas like little babies in the last mission of broodwar

she killed Phoenix and destroyed the UED

but her agent duran seems to be more powerful then she thinks he is

also Jim Rayno swore that he would kill her someday

Zeratul should be mentioned to.. he is way to powerful to be counted out...

First. Her broods were the ones who trashed the three fleets. Kerrigan wasn't even present for the mission going by gameplay.

Second. It's Fenix, and since nowhere in the fluff is Fenix presented as being particularly hard to kill, killing Fenix is not a good measure of Kerrigan's combat ability.

Third. Her fleet was the one who decimated the UED. (Well, more annihilated than decimated.)

Don't confuse being in control of an extremely powerful force with being an extremely powerful force.

Sephiroth was a light weight compared to Kefka anyways and Kerrigan was a far better villain.

so Kerrigan aims to be the ultimate expression of incomprehensibly poorly written evil, an icon for wrist-cutters and emo goth loners everywhere, to be batted back and forth at gamefaqs for eternity?
:lol

Somehow I think Blizzard is better than that.

Wow this thread took off while I was asleep.

Okay, I admit that Kefka is a very evil villain that surpasses Sephiroth on his spoken evil, but he doesn't have the cool status in the minds of gamers. I am telling you that she will have it, I think that's some of what Blizzard is aiming for.

Ok, I remember now. Thanks.

Its only explicitly stated in the Zerg campaign like a million times. You'd have to try and miss it

I'm starting to wonder if I even finished the campaign at all. 98% of my Starcraft time was playing mods like Paintball, RPG's and etc.

Curtis Blackburn makes the majority of evil game personas look like pussies. He's one dimensional, but that's what his corporate sadism needs to be.

You know, if we're talking about characters that are pure evil, we really shouldn't ignore some of the other characters in Blizzard's universe.

You know, like the three Prime Evils in Diablo (Diablo, Baal, Mephisto) or the Burning Legion in Warcraft.

You know, that's something that's kinda lacking in videogames. There's very few truly evil characters. Writers always like to make them either cartoonishly "muahahaha" evil or just "misguided" or otherwise sympathetic.

I can't think of very many antagonists who are actually despicable to the point of unlikability.

Luca Blight in Suikoden II...

really?
was that mentioned in the game?

If you rely on the games alone for Blizzard franchises you miss out on like half the backstory and lore.

It's written in the instruction manual for SC. I'm sure blizzard will come up with some poor plot device to get over this.

The primary plot device being that the Xel'Naga hadn't the slightest idea what was going on up until the Zerg was all "Hi, I'm gonna eat your faces now, 'kay?"

To be fair, Kerrigan is mortal.

I don't think blizzard makes truly immortal characters, either... I mean we killed the Lord of Destruction in Diablo 2, so...

(Tzeentch > Kerrigan indeed)

You peg me the wrong way. Blizzard routinely does this leaving inconsistenies throughout a universe. I never said the original explanation was satisfactory, heck my joke about poor plot devices is proof. Though between this and diablo2 from the original I'm having a laugh at how much shit they can come up with.

Is Tzeentch at the top of the Chaos Pantheon in levels of evil then? I was always more of a Slaanesh fan.

As a general rule, the manipulative bastards come out on top a whole lot more often than those whose evilness are purely driven by emotion.

Plus, the Eldar have got a game plan for taking out Slaanesh. Whether or not it works is up in the air.

(And of course, for sheer Ax Crazy, it's kinda hard to beat Khorne. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!)

Sorry, it's a crappy iPhone pic. Once they get her set back up at work, I'll post some better pictures, if you want to see her.

Yeah, that'd be appreciated.

And where is 'work' exactly?

"Do not ask which creature screams in the night,
Do not ask who waits for you in the shadow,
It is my voice you hear in the night,
And it is my body that lurks in the shadow,
For I am Tzeentch, and you are the puppet,
That dances to my tune...."

What a cockmaster. Is that game any good? Suikoden 3 sucked balls. So, I never bothered with any of the others.

Finally got around to playing the game for the first time this year, and apart from a slight lack of dungeons, it was one of the greatest games I have ever played. Although I recommend playing 1 first (it's short, and not a bad game even if the last quarter of the game feels VERY rushed) to set up the story for the second one. I didn't care much for 3, felt it was too slow-paced with a bit too much backtracking, perhaps maybe one day I will give it another shake.

She's displayed in the lobby, of the building across from ours. Takes them a few days to get these things put back together, so give it until weeks end before I get some shots.

Don't explain your jokes.

Also, beaten to the reference.

Didn't read the whole thread and shouldn't have to.

Don't know who Kerrigan is outside of said Nancy. (Nor do I care, if I haven't heard of the videogame Kerrigan already). I know who Sephiroth is. Rendering your attack on my "joke" moot.
