Kevin Durant Signs With Golden State Warriors

Kd whined about the media before, when he was treated with the softest kid gloves. He's going to get so much scrutiny and hot takes now his psyche and soul are going to melt.

Awww you mean a player... the guy with the talent decided to choose the path of their career instead of doing solely what the billionaire team owners wanted?

Boo fucking hoo.

Meanwhile Dirk leaves 60+ mill on the table staying 'loyal' to his team and all they have to show for it is fucking Barnes. GTFOH.

The league isn't broken because free agents act like free agents. All your favorite teams from way back have multiple All Stars for the most part, so miss me with that nonsense.

so he left to go to a better team, why is that a bad thing?

God forbid a player do what they want to do, basically.

Crazy move but NBA is so boring now. Exchanging Barnes for Durant is like the greatest chess move ever.

Lets contract to a 6 team league.

Is he gonna be ANY option when everyone's jacking 3s? Honestly I don't see how this will work.
They replaced Barnes with Durant.

That makes the death lineup something crazier now. Reliable offense and much better defender rebounder. With Durant/Green they can probably hold their own on the boards in the playoffs while still being small.

KD points can easily come from Curry, Klay and Green.

I don't see how Durant/Thompson/Curry meld well together. 80% of their shots will be threes at this point.

Would have rather seen him in Boston. Seeing what Stevens could do with them would have been interesting.
Boston would have made the association much more interesting, that's for sure. At this point you have to assume it's Cavs/Warriors again next year with the Spurs as a dark horse, no one else even worth mentioning.

If it was Boston you would have a real 1a/1b thing in the east with GS in reach of the Spurs and maybe the Clips if they get it all right for the West.

Now there just isn't much point in tuning in until the Conf. Finals. The NBA has a more pointless regular season than NCAA hoops.

what big name free agents are still out there? hope they sign with cleveland so they can stop golden state. not sure anybody in the west will be able to do anything.

On the plus side, as a Bostonian I'll be endlessly amused by seeing the majority of the world rooting for one of our teams in the inevitable GSW-C's Finals match-up within a few years.

Westbrook is getting traded next season

Durant left and thunder got nothing lol

If OKC was smart they trade Westbrook before the end of next season. Otherwise they'll have nothing.

Kinda sad how OKC once had Harden, Durant and Westbrook. Their own big 3. And now they just have one of them. I feel bad for OKC fans.

Sometimes when you win, you really lose. Sometimes when you lose, you really win. This was the case for the Warriors.

Gloria from White Men Can't Jump was right.

So he's just gonna clean the boards now? What a career change. Will we ever see the pretty 10-footer?

Living in the Bay Area - I can assertively state that Warrior fans are the worst fans of any team. I was quite happy to see them lose in the Finals. I will hope they lose next season and Durant opts out of his contract to go elsewhere.

The silver lining here is Seattle's revenge.

Bay Area sports fans in general are straight up trash. Probably the only fans here that are worth a damn are Raiders fans. At least they aren't band wagoning new jersey wearing fairweather fans.

I'm interested to see his role now. Will he get as many touches as on OKC or will he be regulated to a role player on offense so that steph/play/Draymond can still do their thing?

Someone's gonna have to get the short end of the stick cause there's too many good players now

Don't. We knew this was coming. And honestly, with our state pretty much dying right now, it's the least of our worries.

The reason this is such a fucking leg up is because this guts the #1 competition GS had going into next season. That's nuts.

You are sadly mistaken. His ring will have an asterisk with it when it comes to legacy and top players of all time.
Lol

Prisoner of moment reactions.

Golden State is a fucking team. The basketball will be beautiful and adding Kevin Durant will push them over the top to "Amazing team with flaws" to surefire dynasty*.

Again, no one will give a fuck if they get repeat championships. The fact that GS just lost helps the case of needing KD to really get them to the repetitious promised land that the Lakers and Bulls found.

*Pending chemistry, but for some reason I think that was solved the moment KD met with the team.

Heat wouldn't have won shit without Lebron. Warriors would have been favorites next year without Durant.

How is it no different?

Not to mention, if Lebron has a top five player on his team, he wouldn't have left Cleveland to begin with. He would have won a ship for them a long time ago lol.

The heat were a 40 win team who didn't beat his team the year he left. Not similar at all.
It's the same shit. Miami's previous record didn't mean anything with the squad they put together. People thought they were gonna be unstoppable.

A super team is a super team.

With talent concentrated on so few teams can the NBA ever expand? I know the NHL just did but they're run by a fucking idiot.

what big name free agents are still out there? hope they sign with cleveland so they can stop golden state. not sure anybody in the west will be able to do anything.

Cleveland is paying $54 million luxury tax. They dont have much cap space

We just need to think how to make the Spurs stronger. They are the NBA salvation. Westbrook for Tony Parker lol.

Poor OKC. They will become irrelevant next year when Russ leaves.

Are Sonics fans happy today? I suppose they must be.

Yeah, to run to a team that just won 73 games, league record, and last year a championship. How can you say you are an all time great player and improve on that?

Win 75 games, win 3 championships? Who says GS wouldn't have done that or come close anyway.

The actual measurement of his impact and legacy will now always be questioned.

Stephan A Smith (Hate this guy) - "One of weakest things I've ever seen..."

Yup. This is worse than LeBron on the Heat by far.

The max deal is the problem here. Uncapped personal compensation with capped team spending, like the NFL, would prevent consolidation as too much money would be out there for guys to leave it in favor of building super teams. The owners wanted to disenfranchise the players financially and in the process broke the NBA competitively. Least competitive major sport in the world right now.

You must be new too the Bay Area then

GS shares the wealth. KD will get his shots, he just won't average 30. Neither will Steph.

Kerr has a lot of options now. KD could also play with the bench more with Livingston.

Bitch ass move. LeBron didn't come begging for help from the literal MVP of the league. Lebron was unquestionably the best player when he joined the Heat.

Durant riding the coat tails of the curry. Way to make a name for yourself.

Fuck Golden State.

warriors better embrace being the villians of the league going forward

they might as well after this past playoffs/finals
