People think Clerks 2 is shit? Really? Don't get me wrong it's not amazing but shit?

I loved the original Clerks, but I thought Clerks 2 was so cringeworthy bad that I turned it off about 3/4 of the way through and swore off Kevin Smith movies.

I actually loved the movie, but the choreographed musical dance number was definitely cringe worthy.

I would live to see Clerks III in black and white. Also, I would love to see Mallrats 2..period. Very hyped.

It's hilarious . . . Affleck has an oscar for best-writing and an Oscar for best picture . . . and yet through some sense of loyalty, Kevin Smith often still gets him to play parts in his (funny) movies about cheesy fart jokes and smoking pot.

Surprised Dogma isn't getting more love on this thread. Easily his best work IMO.

Watched Mallrats 100x when I was in college and loved every minute of if. I knew the acting was bad at the time but it just didn't matter. I tried to watch it a few weeks ago and just couldn't bear it. So I agree that it didn't age well. Same with Chasing Amy.

Clerks (and Dogma) still work though. And I just watched Clerks II for the first time a couple weeks ago. It wasn't too bad.

On MR2. I'll be cautiously pessimistic.

Then he announced the Canada horror/comedy "trilogy" and there were rumblings of Clerks 3 (is that still happening?) and now out of nowhere he's fast-tracking Mallrats 2. I'll never believe anything he says about his future plans ever gain haha.

IIRC he said that Tusk got him back into the movie industry and secured him the backing he would need to make Mallrats 2, Clerks 3, and some other stuff.
