Kevin Sorbo/Kirk Cameron buddy cop movie where they take on the gay mafia, their hooded thug enforcers and their Jewish paymasters.

You can thank me later, Christian film industry.

to play devil's advocate he's just regurgitating something he heard on Fox, talk radio or The Blaze or something. the same talking point as been brought up for years, and as stupid and wrong as it is, i don't think its "racist". he put it very uneloquently though

You're not in his head though. How can you tell where his own inner held views stop and where the foxnews/conservative propaganda begins? To say he you think he's not racist is presumptuous. And especially in 2014 you should know better so I'm not giving him any benefit of the doubt nor should anyone else.

he very well could be racist. i don't know. but the average right winger sees black unemployment up since obama took office, of course they're going cling to the "fact" that their voting for somebody making things worse for them. it's not true because the global financial meltdown caused this, obvs. but like i said that's just something they see as fact and i don't see any racism in that per se... you could turn it around as "why do poor white working class voters vote for rich white people wanting to raise their taxes" or anything else

“Exactly,” Sorbo agreed. “They did deliver him, so they had a hand in it. Um, and what did it do? A $30 million movie made $500 million, so Mel sort of had the last laugh there.”

First off, there is no record of anyone handing over Jesus to the Romans, either Roman or Jewish. There is also no contemporary record of Jesus himself, nor his trial, nor his execution. Now regardless of what you believe happened, it's probably not a good idea to condemn an entire society, a culture based on the alleged actions of an at least partially fictional scenario.

Secondly, I don't think Kevin Sorbo understands the chronological order of "last" as movies like The Beaver and Expendables 3 remind us.

If he's gonna claim that "you (Jews) did kill Jesus" and put the responsibility of that event onto an entire group of people, I wonder if he himself is willing to also burden himself with the responsibility of all the historical wrongdoings of whatever groups/labels of people he identifies with.

omg this thread... and his twitter.. omg... :(

I always liked Xena better anyway. It was the superior show with better action, stories, and humor.
Everybody here "liked Xena more anyway..."

I wonder if Lawless posted stuff like that (i know she never will), if people would claim they liked Hercules more.

I've noticed this happen sometimes.
I'm willing to forgive a comment or two from celebrities, they are human after all with personal beliefs and ideologies like the rest of us. But the volume at which he's publicly posting this crap is off-putting.

Sure, it's possible. People turning out to be shitheads sometimes makes me retroactively like their stuff less, or taints my memories of them.

But I mean. There are some obvious reasons people liked Xena more. :P

Xena was always more popular.

For sure, but did NOONE like Hercules more? It's kinda weird.

Yea, the majority did prefer Xena and for good reason.

I just find it peculiar that we all like stuff and have no idea if their creator/actor is an asshole, but the moment we learn about it we instantly "dislike" their every single thing.

Personally I cannot understand it (but know that other people feel like this) It is a bit bipolar.

I just thought this headline w this picture was hilarious:

what about Josephus!

I like how with only 1 or 2 nights of a small amount of looting everyone calls Ferguson a riot instead of protest. Even when the looting was given a chance to happen in the first place after unnecessary police aggression against a peaceful protest.

That was Octavious

I remember watching Hercules because I liked it and when they introduced the Xena charactrr I thought she was really cool. Eventually the Xena series started being broadcast and I found myself being drawn towards that series more than Hercules. It probably didn't help that my local TV station started shifting Hercules to weirder time slots or showing it really late. It was probably due to Xena being more popular but then again that channels has a habit of putting later seasons of Tv series at odd timings. Like having new episodes of Buffy shown at 1 am, two years after they were broadcasted in the US.

Xena managed to draw me in more than Hercules. Hercules was also getting boring by the time Xena started airing here.

Initiating the coversation, Newcombe said, “I think Mel Gibson crashed a gate, in a very big way, 10 years ago.”

“Oh, he got attacked when he was shooting ‘The Passion’,” Sorbo agreed before continuing, “From the Jewish community, saying ‘look at the way you’re portraying us,’ I mean, I go, okay, news bulletin: you did kill Jesus.”

Sorbo then laughed, adding, “Come on!”

Yeah, I guess Mel did re-open the door . . . . the door for blaming all Jews for killing Jesus.

It's tiring being secretly angry all the time.

It really is. If you're a naturally hateful person like I can only imagine most conservatives are, learning to ignore the things you hate needs to become an essential life strategy if you don't want to die of a heart attack.

Damn it Dylan Hunt, why do you need to be like this?

The irony here is that I'd always read Andromeda was partly fucked up by Sorbo. The claim was after the first season he felt he knew where the story should go, and that Dylan Hunt needed to be an unimpeachable hero. Whereas the original premise would have it that Dylan was delusional, and would suffer some falls along the way on his quest. After they got rid of the original showrunner, it was all downhill.

Yeah I recall hearing the same thing. First two seasons were solid as was half of S3, or select episodes of it, but after that it went downhill. Even knowing that he's a bit difficult as an actor, it's still disappointing to learn that Sorbo is an ultra-conservative and seemingly is rather racist in some of his world views.

You know.. I find it kind of annoying that certain christians blame jews for killing Jesus. I mean...from what I read from the bible, wasn't Jesus always supposed to die on the cross? His death was supposed to be the sacrifice to cleanse humanity of their sins?

Idk, just a weird thought.

I'll enjoy beating the shit out of him even more oin my next God of War 3 playthrough

It becomes like a time-travel movie paradox. Well if the Jews behaved the way you supposedly wanted them to behave then there would be no crucifixion and hence no salvation! So they HAD to play their part (if that was their part) for everything to work out. So what are you mad about?

Not mad, just weirded out because they knew it was supposed to happen for their salvation.
