I enjoyed Kick-Ass (the comic), and thought the movie was alright, but I found Kick-Ass 2 to be awful.

I'm curious how far they'll push this film.

Anyway, it's good to see Jim Carrey in a (hopefully) good movie again.

Here's hoping they do some serious refitting from the comic. Kick Ass 2 by Mark Millar was fucking terrible. That trailer seems like it's following the same basic beats, but that might not be so bad as long as they cut some of the truly nonsense details.

For those of you who don't care about possible spoilers:

Motherfucker basically sets out to make Kick Ass's life a living hell. KA gets his house raided by the cops, so his dad takes the fall and pretends that he's Kick Ass so that his son won't go to jail. You can see they're going this route in the trailer because KA's dad is the one behind bars when they're talking.

Anyway, his dad gets murdered in jail and when they're holding the funeral, Motherfucker takes the opportunity to attack them. This is the scene in the trailer when KA and Hit Girl are in the cemetery and get bombarded by a rocket launcher.

The worst of it, though, is when Motherfucker decides to hit KA through his girlfriend Katy. He shows up at her house and basically says something to effect of, "It's time you learned what evil dick tastes like" while unzipping his pants.

The story was just a bunch of mindless, horrible things happening to the protagonists. Here's hoping the film can inject some actual character development like the first movie did.

Yeah, this one almost looks like a parody inside the world of Kick-Ass. Plus, it's disappointing that its lacking some of Vaughn's fun bits and vision. Oh well, hopefully its just some fun.
