Kickstarter: SPORTSFRIENDS (Local Multiplayer, JS Joust, more) [Funded]

Sony should just pay the difference with 15 minutes left if they haven't reached their goal yet.

It's not the same but Shuhei Yoshida just made a small donation

I can't really justify upping 40 more dollars to the 100 tier for just 1 t-shirt.

Sigh, I wish the rewards were better.

They've added an additional reward at that tier: One (1) of these controller charms! :P

To be fair, would you want the rewards to be better, or the project to actually get the funding it deserves?

This year of Kickstarter has seen a lot of squandering of funds on shirts, shipping, not spending it and then being taxed on it, etc.

Amazon payments takes 5%, Kickstarter takes 5% and the average goal should be for swag to be 5%, which is nigh impossible. But $100 for a shirt that costs $6+ at base is in line with actually spending around $80 of the funding on the actual project.

People who offer amazing rewards that seem costly are wasting the money you're giving them, or you're just buying swag.

Fair point!

I just want to know why these games never released to begin with.. we've been hearing about these forever it seems, especially JS Joust.

They should have just released it, it seemed like a pet project.. should have just put it out there.

Hokra was commissioned for No Quarter last year.

BaraBariBall got 2 more characters just this year despite being constantly balanced and playtested since last year.

Joust has been released... to specific people for specific events, but expanded versions have been worked on, etc.

Super Pole Riders doesn't exist... yet.

And all of these are being worked on to create an expanded full package for both PS3 & PC/Mac/Linux. Why shouldn't these guys be able to sell their games?

We're soooo close. It's kinda scary. I'm going to sleep away the next 8 hours and then start to get hyped! See everyone tomorrow.

I want it to fund, but more than anything, I want to stop hearing about it nonstop on Twitter. Sony should have been funding this anyway.

Chipped in for $15. I've been mulling over it for a while, but seeing it so close to funding made me go for it.

Man, it's going to be tough to sleep tonight. It's all up to you now, Europe!

Edit: Also updated numbers/time in the thread title would be just dandy.

Pledged at the $15 level. I don't have Move controllers for Joust, but BBB and SPR seem interesting. I don't understand Hokra at all.

That sounds retarded...

Sure, but it's such a fun, physical game. You can hold the controller wherever you want, do different tactics. In one game Doug sat down and covered his controller, but I snuck my foot in between his arm and kicked his controller. A lot of pushing, pulling, kicks, dives, etc.

It sounds no more retarded than I am a super human in a helmet killing aliens to save the galaxy. Or I am playing a game where I re-enact fictional war stories for the sake of pure enjoyment at home for many hours so that my fictional rank goes up.

All games sound dumb on paper. Like why the fuck would you play tag in the first place, anyway?

True. But it doesn't sound like something that cost more than $100 to devolop. When motion controller moves x degrees red light goes on. May as well all hold a candle and try to blow out the other persons. Sure you might burn your house down....

Under 3K$ and 10h to go!

Are they going to add any visual element to Joust for scoring? Maybe use the Eye to take a picture of each player?

Well they're definitely going to bring a more cohesive package for the final release, that's why they're hiring professional multiplat developers. I think there will be some cool stuff in the end regarding those kind of things.

So excited. JS Joust is the best party game I've ever played and worth $20 on its own. $15 for these games as a package with little refinements and bells and whistles is incredibly generous. The wait's now going to be killer.

Just pledge 30$ and get those games NOW in their current, awesome state. ;-)
