With some stuff patched, I'm inclined to agree. We already know that the ISA smg is getting patched as is the LMG most likely day one. As it stands right now, I'd say they're just about equal. With the edge going in a slight manner to personal tastes in dealing with controls. So, to me, KZ3>KZ2.

@tactical- Looks alien to me. I like it. Gotta remember. Helghan is a shithole planet. Even a jungle is gonna be hostile and unwelcoming.
 
Why do the reticules in motion controller FPS games have to look like ass? Is it a meme between developers or something? Why take extra steps to make it look like extra ass? It was fine before. If I buy Killzone 3, it will be bought with a Move, so this concerns me.

it is because they actually play tested the game and found that if the reticule does not stck out, people lose track of it. the thing is designed to help you play the game better.
 
I'm tired of trying over and over just to get to the multiplayer screen. I keep getting errors.

Botzone just isn't as fun.

Quit the game, do a network test them try again or restart PS3. Or better yet get a wired connection going.

there are reviews dropping for this game and the multiplayer is still in beta....

laughing so goddamn hard at this game and the general ass kissing press giving good reviews to a generic AAA shooter.

I love, love, love Operations. It's finally bridge the gap between generic objective MP to having more of a story feeling. I mean I love BFBC2, but KZ2 is implementing a story to the mission better. I know the cutscenes will get old and such, but at the moment, it really helps. It feels like a narrative exists to the mission, like it's still in SP mode.

How many maps ship in total?

I also am doing pretty damn well with the MP in general, I've never been this good with grenades. I've gotten some dumbass bounces (my fault), but I don't mind, I love how they can bounce off objectives so well.

The melee is great, I've gotten killed so many times because I wanted the animation, sure beats the usual knife slash stuff.

A few good games Vs. GAF. Then 90% of my team bailed... Then I spawn camped to hell and back.

I'm not sure if 'Lag' is the cuprit, why does look like I die within the range of 2-3 shots on my end? ...I played a few rounds of Deathmatch beforehand and the matches were smooth/consistent. And I only use Armor -- And they weren't headshots.

Also, I'll never appreciate brutal kills -- they feel cheap. If they were more like Reach executions or uncharted 2 stealth kills (from behind the enemy), that'd be cool but whatever at this point. It's a design choice I either cope with or simply avoid playing online.

But again, good games -- we had you evenly matched for a moment.

It's just an animation though, it's no different than a standard melee kill, it just ads a little spice to it.
 
Really enjoying this, so far I don't mind the MP changes at all. It's playing better than KZ2. Some of the bot spam is annoying, but my biggest grievance is still the controls. Maybe I just haven't found the right sensitivity settings, but I haven't found the sweet spot with this semi-weighty movement like I have with BFBC2, which seems to be the closest comparison. Then again, maybe it's lag. Servers have been shit all day.

Graphics & lighting & texture detail up close on the characters is outstanding. Really like Operations too.

Feelin' optimistic bro.

Damn I can't aim straight from the grabbing device preview screen. Too much lag. I need to find a better way. Was that last game laggy to everyone or just me?

Will try play more later. Now I'm too tiered as well (6 am here)

Edit - Are cheap Component splitters any good? Do they affect video quality much? I'm considering splitting the PS3 video output in two, one straight to the TV and the other one into the PC capture card.

Is it just me or is that frozen dam map kinda unbalanced towards ISA? I played maybe 8 games tonight and I think the ISA side won all matches.. It seems like the ISA spawn point is a bit closer to the middle and to most objectives than the Hig one.

Other random thoughts:

- Framerate can get a bit iffy at times.
- Aiming feels Killzone-y enough for me. Don't see what all the fuss was about.
- Tacticians are really crucial for winning. If you don't have 2 out of 3 spawn points you're pretty much stuck.
- Can you respawn on a point that an opposing Tact is currently capturing? I felt like sometimes I could respawn right away and kill the opposing Tact and sometimes I couldn't..
I'd rather they not allow any respawning as soon as an opposing Tact is capturing.
- Last point: fuck that engineer LMG. Shit is straight up unfair.
 
I've only played with bots so far and only with Move. I feel a little on the wild and out of control side but it also feels like something I'm learning and will get much better at, like the first time you used dual analog FPS controls. It definitely feels like it will be more fun as I get used to it.
