Killzone video shows some more of E3 level

God I love the ambience the booming voice over the loudspeaker adds. Talk about hostile territory.

Just imagine big screen T.V. and surround sound! Fucking awesome!

Anyone have any info on the audio for the game 5.1, HD?

That's Brian Cox as Scholar Viscari me thinks.

7.1 positional sound (grenades sound different inside then outside..etc).

Thought 7.1 lossless? I will try to find it.

I like this theory.

Dedicated servers.
30 hour singleplayer.
4 player co-op is in.
Rutger Hauger main bad guy.

Throw in Samuel L Jackson as the reluctant anti-hero with an attitude and it'll be heaven.

This game looks good, I'll give you that. But will it play good? My pants aren't going tighten based off of what I've seen, so far.

Whatever floats your boat, though. If it turns out to be a good game, I'll buy it -- no doubt.

Exactly my thoughts.

Clearly the fappage is about the technical aspects, at this point at least. But going by what we know, there is no reason to believe this game will not be great.

That's not entirely true. Aside from the fact that on a visual level the "fappage" is every bit as much related to the artistic merit and craftsmanship that is powered by the tech as it is to the tech itself, there are some pretty cool things seen in the brief gameplay demonstration. The first person cover system for example seems pretty awesome, and made more sor by the fact that it's utilized by enemies as well as friendlies. Actually, I find the whole first person motion deal quite exciting. Now it remains to be seen if Guerrilla can tie all this together into a consistently good game, but there are promising components here that go beyond just the tech aspect.

I think this is a great advantage by Guerrilla actually being a Dutch company. The game is going to feel different (just like the original) simply because they have different cultures, different takes on things..etc.

I hate having to bide time until 2008 but I'm glad that they're taking their time with it this go-around. The series has far more potential than the original delivered.

The aesthetic of Killzone 2 makes me want to move back to Europe sooner rather than later. True story.

If Europe is anything like Helghan you can count me right the **** out of ever going to Europe.

Just me, or could this video be made infinitely better by a Muse song?

Just saying.

:)

I actually didn't notice that before. :lol Nice find
Oh Fuck yeah thanks a-lot! :D It's only like a half sec. but still good to see!

When I saw the first gameplay clip I didn't see any of that, or any rag-doll physics.

That combined with how the enemies react to the shots is AWESOME!

Well, it is interesting that the only two games that have so far managed to make me feel a bit homesick have been HL2 and Killzone (1 and now 2).

Headcrabs in europe eh?

The AI is stupid. Most of the dude's body on the left is behind cover, but his head is above it. What the hell?

Don't worry, he wears a helmet.
Did he turned his head to follow the tracer round ? That's interesting.

It's not like any other game have environmental awareness to that degree. They just have the cover built to certain block sizes. There's numerous ways Guerrilla can get around this and prob with just a few days work and with this being a 08 title...

Nope. There was an Helghast ahead calling him "stupid". Try watching the gif again now that you know it and u'll see it makes sense.

Shit, you lived in Rinkeby? :D

Kidding.. Yeah the style somewhat reminds me of Europe. Half Life is like Estonia mixed with Göteborg or something.

Love the vid and the gifs. Next year will be the shit! The atmosphere is unbelievable. It's dark, gritty, and hostile. I don't want shineys on everything and I love the greys
