What does that have to do with being able to sell a movie? Paris Hilton is on tons of magazines also but that doesn't mean anyone wants to see her in a movie.
 
tomb raider sucks anyway. at least the series can take a page out of its own playbook and give it a fine lead. and few are finer than Kim Kardashian.
i just want to see her in 3D

Instead, looks like we'll just make the series even trashier than it was before.

I don't understand what's wrong with having a really hot and curvy lead just for the sake of having a really hot and curvy lead. No different from having muscular dudes instead of fat, old, balding guys, I think.
 
Hell no.

I never understood the mind set of watching a film solely for the sake of seeing a hot girl in it, I personally watch films to be entertained, not as a replacement to something I could do in my free time for free. If they're going to do another film, than the least they could do is cast someone who can freaking act.

There's nothing wrong with it. But she just isn't right for the role. Kelly is a much better choice. An even better choice would be someone like Kate Beckinsale. But Kardashian shouldn't even be in the conversation to play her.
 
Kim Kardashian is so sexy. Her butt is like a big mountain of pudding!

So cast her in something where she isn't supposed to be the female equivalent or an Indiana Jones/James Bond cross.

Put her in something like "I know what you did last summer". Give her The Matrix Treatment and cast her in something where her lines are restricted to saying "whoa". While she'll look amazing, she won't pull off classy/intelligent very well.

I'm not talking about the people opposing Kardashian playing the role, but more the people pointing to Ripley and Sarah Connor and saying, "Why are all female action stars actually attractive instead of being men with vaginas like these two?"

Especially when it comes to Lara Croft. People saying that it's not realistic for someone with Kim Kardashian's or Kelly Brook's builds to do the things that Lara does, so they should get someone with a slimmer, more athletic build like Evangeline Lilly? Evangeline's beautiful, but she's nowhere near the right body type for Lara Croft. Lara Croft is supposed to be curvy. Who the fuck cares if it's realistic? It's nice to look at.

No one is talking about realistic or else we wouldn't even be talking about Lilly.

It would take additional special effects to show Kardashian climbing anything because that is not what she does. She doesn't even have the ability to. She stands in front of a camera. She drives around.

Now if there are others out there that can perform as Croft then fine. But it makes more sense to make a good movie based off a video game than to make an actual video game movie which time and again results in it stinking.

I believe she was the first "model" for the game. I remember her being at a vendor show for EB Games years ago when I was a manager.

She filled the costume quite well iirc. Karima Adebibe was a knockout when she had the role as well.
 
Seriously, if a figure of religious authority provided that picture of Kelly Brook as proof of their God, I would become a monk of that order.

In recent years they've scaled Lara's breast size back a bit to make her look a bit more realistic. She's certainly still curvy but nothing like she was during the PSone days. So they even realized that you can't go overboard with physical features like that. That's why I think Beckinsale would be the best choice. She's somewhat close to Lara's current body type, she's athletic and she actually has a resemblance to Lara. For example the leaked TR9 concept art looks a lot like her.
 
Terrible idea, also I didn't mind Jolie's Croft. She was sexy (as expected), and her British accent wasn't THAT bad (it was pretty shit though, I can only imagine how horrible Kardashian's would be).

Just give it to Kate Beckinsale, her with Pony tail and Brown hair equals Tomb Raider Underworld Lara.

What's wild is she became famous for being a friend of Paris Hilton- someone else famous for not being famous.

Now she has a TV show, calendars, magazine covers, & butt enhancing DVD's. So now she is famous for something. Paris has been in a few movies though...

They've scaled her back a bit, but even at her smallest, she's still very well-endowed. In Legend and Anniversary (when she was scaled back the most, before they started scaling her up again), she's got a pretty similar build to Kardashian or Brook.

nobody cared about her before then. it snowballed and she capitalized.
 
I really don't like this culture of fame and idol worshiping. It's like everyone is trying to be Jesus but not actually have the religious credentials. I'm going to stop now before I slip into a rant and get flamed but long story short: reality television fame (where it isn't deserved and requires no work) sucks. It sucks hard.

I knew who Kardashian was before the tape but the tape definitely heightened fame substantially.

The point was that she is legitimately famous whether one likes it or not. She's still not right for this movie though.
