Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX TGS 2012 trailer direct feed

Of course it will, crazy. The Kingdom Hearts games sell really well in North America.
Not that crazy. The final mixes of the first 2 kh games along with several other examples seem to suggest otherwise though.

So yeah. I'll care once it's announced an international release. Japan only = good for them but no good for me so I dont care.

So long as the ports are good and are of a good smooth frame rate I am in there day 1.
...and maybe now I can FINALLY get my lazy ass to play the series.

Kingdom Hearts is popular in Europe as well but that didn't stop Square Enix Europe from never releasing Re:CoM.

Though saying that, I do expect this one to be localised... 6-8 months after the Japanese release. Then I'll FINALLY be able to play KH1 at 60fps (fuck the PAL version of it) and Re:CoM.

Speaking of which, KHI and KHII HD remakes are probably going to be their 2013 releases for the series, while KHIII gets secretely developed for a late 2014 release. Can't wait.

So...what game is this getting a remake, exactly?

None are getting a remake. This is an HD upres of Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories (a remake of the GBA game for Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix on PS2) with redone cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

Looks amazing. I'm not looking forward to too many games, but assuming they let you use the right stick etc this could be the best purchase I make in a long time.

Technically the cutscenes from 358/2 are getting a remake, but that's it. :p

Looking good! Can't wait to replay 1 and Re:CoM again in HD! Nice that they're going the extra mile with the Days scenes.

Apparently the option to was added in Final Mix, so it should be present in this release.
This is awesome and lame at the same time. Why not to port all the SD versions? KH2 and the psp one too please. :(
They'll probably release them in a second HD collection.

They wanna get money out of a 2nd Collection aswel.

If 2.5 is really 3 fully playable games, then having two volumes isn't really that outrageous in my opinion. That's a lot of stuff. And as is, 1.5 is two games and 358/2, which is the only one receiving the remake treatment (just the cutscenes though obviously).

I think they will do KH2 as one title and BBS as another.

And to be honest I'll happily buy them both...so they probably should.

They can include KH2 and BBS in a 2.5, don't think they'll include 3D with it.

That doesn't look like a reaction command exactly. The command there is Arcanum. Maybe they're moving the 4th command into a Triangle command instead. That would be a decent improvement.

If they want to that, maybe they are even willing to put in a decent camera in KH1, like the KH2 camera.

I can dream ^^

How is the camera in Re: COM? I only played the GBA version, so I have no idea.

Please... in English... please... I'm weak, here

The scripts are good-to-go... and most of the voice work done... no excuses

KH2fm, BBSfm and DDD cutscenes would make a nice second collection. Porting DDD would take way more work than BBS anyway due to the second screen, camera stuff being removed and whatever. BBSfm could be ported as it is with only losing the multiplayer perhaps.

NO NO NO!

Don't do this SE! If you make even more voice work needed that means even more EFFORT for localisation and we are never going to get this collectiooooon ;_;.

I'm conflicted. While I'm glad that they took the effort to remake all the (some?) in-game cutscenes and not just the prerendered ones from Theatre Mode, I also worry; this will require a ton of new VO and I'm not sure SE thinks it worth the trouble for a Western release. I guess, they could leave out Days or do it text only...

Anyway, seeing how much effort they already put towards Days, makes me really wish they went ahead and released Re:Days.

You guys are kidding yourselves if you don't think that a second collection would be 2, BBS and Re:Coded's cutscenes. DDD would probably come later in a separate thing.

I'm honestly not convinced at all that KH2 would come with BbS. It seems to make much more sense to have each major KH game headline a collection. After all, KH2 + BbS would not be "2.5", because they're not chronological at all. KH2 + Re:Coded + DDD on the other hand, would indeed be "2.5". :)

BbS + whatever new shit they put together would be... "0.5"... which is something they teased in the BbS FM Secret Ending.

God, what if S-E does a 2 collection with 2 and Re:Coded, and then just sell BBS and DDD separately too. That sounds like something they'd do.

Edit: That is a good point, I didn't think about the chronological stuff, I just looked at it in terms of release dates. BBS + New shit makes sense. I'd be afraid of whatever convoluted nonsense S-E sees fit to include with that game though.

They will probably make more money, which they will use to make more games?

Calling it: BBS+Type-0 HD collection! THE ZER0 COLLECTION!

You can add Crisis Core if you wish ^^.

The only way it would make sense to have BBS in 2.5 is if BBS is not intended to be played before KH1, but is still a prequel story.

Looks decent, but after 3D's terribly disappointing sales in Japan, Square-Enix should have realized the need to stop messing around with this series and trim the fat and re-worked the collection as BBS+KH1+KH2 (no one cares about trash like 358/2 Days--it's stuff like that that's hurting the series and keeping it around isn't going to help--SE needs to focus on the actual core of the franchise) instead, and for maximum effectiveness in reinvigorating the series in all regions, planned to release it on PS3/360/Wii U... but, lol, Square-Enix. Such a... dare I say, "Simple and Clean" (yes, I hate myself too) collection is such an obvious and pretty much surefire way to reinvigorate interest in the series, but Square-Enix gonna Square-Enix, I guess and keep doing things the hard way.

A lot of the backgrounds and the skyboxes are also pre-rendered.

Yeah and since there were no camera controls, they probably didn't bother filling out those backgrounds/skyboxes anymore than they had to (for a 4:3 screen). I wouldn't be surprised if they had to extend (or remake) some of them for the HD release.

But the real reason why FFX HD is taking so long has to be FFXIV. I think Kagari said they've got 300 internal staff (plus 400 contractors) working on it? So they've obviously absorbed at least a couple of other teams into it. The Osaka team were probably saved from the same fate by sheer distance, assuming they're the ones making this.

Looks good. I bought KH1 when I got my PS3 as I never played it when I had a PS2.
Only played like a couple of hours since the PS3 makes extremely loud noises with PS2 discs so if this ever gets localized, I'd want to finish it.

Yah...As much as I like FFXIV and want its success it is just crazy with the way they handle the management. I can foresee people going forwardm proposing their ideas, only to be pushed to make social games because of the lack of manpower and the overall climate.

This remaster is looking quite nice and I must agree that the KH art style really translates well. Here's hoping that they're well received enough to kick off a second KH HD collection and other collections.
