Kingdom Hearts TGS Scoop

Why is it that S-E takes the DS seriously 50 percent of the time and the other 50 percent do this?

Offshoots have always been farmed out, it's not like this is practice is platform specific to Nintendo.

I meant that mostly because the mobile is apparently internal while DS is external

But I also meant in terms of WHAT we get...

(Dont get me wrong I am giddy for FFCCRoF, CB, FFIVDS, etcetera, but we do get our share of lamers while the other systems seem to get nothing but AAA material)

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
It starts by showing scenes of the ending of "Kingdom Hearts 1" Soon the text "Deep Past" comes up, to be followed by "Shut-Eyes gives birth to the concealed fate"

The trailer starts off with the boy who looks like Roxas, Ven, talking to a young male with black hair, the area seeming to be like "Hollow Bastion". The boy soon calls the young male "Ven." The scene continuously changes before showing the Old man that is seen in the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ Secrent Ending.

The old man's name is "Master Xehanort" and "Master Xehanort" calls the young boy "Terra". Soon Terra summons the keyblade into his hand.

Soon some worlds are shown, such as "Olympus Coliseum" and a new world, which resembles that of Sleeping Beauty is shown, confirming it's existence.

The scene then changes to Terra fighting against the mysterious dark male, who looks like he's in a bicycle suit, also from the secret ending. Terra manages to knock off the helmet, but his face isn't shown.

The scene soon moves to King Mickey summoning his Keyblade. Soon the scene begins to change rapidly, and Terra is at a beach, watching two boys playing before resting his sword into the grove. The two boys soon begin to become more visible, and it looks like Sora and Riku playing at the beach.

Terra soon says "Please don't depend on me, just erase me...friend"

Afterwards the text "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep" comes up, this game is for the PSP

sounds really good.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
The trailer starts from the scene where re:COM ended, afterwards the words "The other side attached to Sora still sleeps" and "The mind comes back whenever they touch." The scene then moves to Twilight Town, where Roxas, and Axel are sitting on the edge, as seen in KH2FM+.

Soon the trailer switches to Roxas being invited to the Organization XIII, and introduced to them, which soon cuts out to another scene of Roxas joining the Organization for the first time. Soon the scene then switches to the King talking about Axel, and Saix with Roxas pulling out his keyblade, moving into gameplay.

The gameplay features Roxas fighting with other Organization Members in a multiplayer game. This one confirms the allowance of being able to play as Roxas, Axel, Saix and Xigbar.

The scene then switches to Xemnas talking towards other Organization members. Xemnas explains that a 14th member has joined the Organization, and the 14th member appears to be a female, wearing a black hood. Soon the title comes up as "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days"

You can then hear Roxas in the background saying "I will disappear from this world in 151 days"

i'm kinda confused with the multiplayer option, makes it sound like if it were a 'smash bros'-like fighting game. anyway, i guess there's no doubt it's an action RPG

Fighting WITH, not fighting AGAINST.

The PSP has only gotten CC and DQ&FF:IS as original projects as far as I'm aware. Everything else is just another port and whatnot. There's Dissidia and now this, as well, but that's basically it so far.

The DS has gotten so much more, so yeah there's more garbage, but plenty of the stuff released has had a number of bigger people involved with the projects. Dunno why people are complaining about that situation.

The Wii/PS3 situation seems more in the PS3's favor at the moment, but no games have been released yet. DQS, though developed by GS, did have some of the main people of every major DQ game, something no other spinoff has gotten.

Xehanort...who can he be...the name sounds very familiar...
I wonder if the beach encounter with Terra was what led to Sora being chosen for keyblade...or they have some ties before that...

edit: nvm, remember who xehanort is now.. how did he look older but in the past...

I think I am mostly bitter because I dont like dungeon crawls... and the biggest announcement since pre-launch we get is Chocobo dungeon >.< (SERIOUSLY A WHITE MAGE CLASS? Maybe if it was multiplayer but god... lol)

And that no epic games are being announced for the Wii from Square-Enix (a bitter taste in my mouth from the company that wont be named stating that Wii brings in revenue for 360/PS3 development doesn't help)

If we had any info on Crystal Bearers I might be able to bear it (hahaha pun) but the game appears so seldom and I want to know whats happening!

My guess is that Xehanort prolonged his life through his pursuit of the whole Kingdom Hearts power, thus willingly splitting himself into his Heartless and Nobody forms, hence why both look younger and considerably better built than his frail old form in the secret ending. I have a pretty kooky idea about who Xehanort is in the first place, but I'll wait until it's played out before I say what it is... which could take a while.

...If you're interested in hearing it though; basically I think Xehanort himself is somebody else's Nobody from long ago which has itself found a heart and, rather than becoming a whole person again, used it to split himself again into another Heartless and Nobody. One, his name is an anagram of "No Heart" with an X added which follows the naming convention of the Organization XIII Nobodies, and two, being a Nobody of a Nobody has got to be some powerful zen shit right there, which would explain why he's far and away the most powerful member of Organization XIII.

I think, for once, I'm looking forward to the PSP spinoff game over the DS one. I hate Roxas with a passion but I'm very interested in the characters that showed up in the KH2 secret ending.

Because the high end Sony platforms are more important to them?

Personally I see it as more as an agreement between Sony and Square. Square makes sure their products sell on Sony or the deals off baby.

Thats off topic though. I think the DS game will be great although I'd much rather have CoM2 set in between KH2 and KH3. I also agree with Amir0x just this once about 3d and think that they should have stuck to 2D (and im sure anyone would agree if they knew how great CoM looked on GBA)

Just when i thought i knew most of the KH universe they do this.

Actually, Riku was the one who was chosen to wield the keyblade, but since he succumbed to the darkness in his heart (or some other mumbojumbo) Sora got the keyblade.

It's ridiculous how dense most of the people in this thread are. How did you guys not expect a bunch of handheld titles? That's the heart and soul of japanese gaming.

If you can't figure out why, I suggest taking a moment to think about the lifestyle of the average person in Japan.

I'm glad the PSP one is the real one. I loved Chain of Memories and played through it twice for the full story, but the DS title sounds... cheap.

A multiplayer 3D game starring Roxas sounds cheap....and you liked Chain of Memories? Man oh man, now I know why I ignore your posts.

Well, pretty much expected announcements, both DS and PSP KH sound good. I could live without KH Mobile but hey, this is SE way of doing things now, at least we are still getting the DS and PSP games. Interesting that Disney wants to continue with Square-Enix, I thought they were far more stupid and were going to do the games themselves. Bodes well for KH3.

Wtf Square talk about milk.

Not that I care about handheld KH games much, but I think the DS title probably would've been better in 2D ala It's a Wonderful World.

Blame the ultra high production values that S-E strives for. After all it took us 3 years to get Crisis Core! :D

I reckon they could re use the CoM engine..it looked great and still looks great.

Chain of Memories was cheap, too. That's part of the reason I don't want to go back through that again. Reusing the story. I basically got nothing out of it except learning about a few of the OXIII people. (IT WAS STILL FUN AND I EXPECT THIS TO BE, TOO)

I'll probably end up getting both.

Enjoy Last Remnant...

Okay, so remember that awesome Keyblade War that happened at the end of KH2? Well, that probably won't happen in the PSP title. The game will probably end right before the Keyblade War happens and it will probably deliver some line like "Continues in Kingdom Hearts 3...coming Soon".

So... you think KH3 is going to be a prequel? :P

Err, why? It was obviously for that game.

Everything I need to know about the lifestyle of the Japanese I learned from Persona 3.

I don't see any reason why they can't play consoles anymore. Some of them get a whole extra hour a night to kill with nothing else to do.

The logos look like photoshops.

Still excited about 179 Days, however, yay Roxas!

Dunno if it made it over here, but GDJustin's thread lets loose the developers...

DS = h.a.n.d. (lolz outsourced!)

PSP = Musashi/COM+ team

mobile = Before Crisis team

Well, if they were all good games, there wouldn't be. Unfortunately thus far they have been batting .333, at least as far as American releases are concerned.

So none of them are being worked on by the Crisis Core team. Interesting.

Actually the Before Crisis crew, is partially the Crisis Core team.

So Mobile version FTW then?!
