Kingsman is a fun movie but Casino Royale is much better.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Kingsman is a fun romp. It's Men in Black but for spies. Vaughn is a great director and he makes some of the most entertaining movies out there and especially the most entertaining X-Men movie. Compared to the Craig-Bond-movies I'd say they're aiming for very different things but both succeed at what they set out to do. I think the Bond-movies have better expiration dates, though.

Movie would be utter shit without Colin Firth. Couldn't stand Eggsy one bit.

I hope we get a prequel with Colin Firth as the main character all the way through.

Maybe "utter shit" was an overreaction there were a lot of great characters in the movie but I really didn't like Eggsy.

Kingsman did nothing for me, ok, church scene is awesome and shocking at the same time, but besides that, the whole script is kind of silly and the movie pretty forgettable as a whole.

And while I'm not a big fan of Craig bond movies, they are better than kingsman for sure.

I'm not a huge Bond fan but the love for Kingsman mystifies me. I've seen it twice even. I thought Casino Royale was better for sure. Don't even have that many Bond films I've sat through, so maybe Kingsman is better than most of them but... I kind of doubt it unless none of them have redeeming features.

Kingmens was a couple of cool action scenes wrapped around a pretty lame movie in my opinion. The whole plot and "U WOT BRUV" stuff got boring soo fast.

Daniel Craig seems really bored of Bond now, I definitely felt like that watching Spectre. I want someone else to take over.

They are not comparable. Kingsman is just a bad parody , that winks a bunch of time to the audience explaining what the movie fails to evoke.

Reminded me of Austin Powers more than Bond.

Yup. Powers , Spy Kids , Leslie Nielsen movies...that's much more in line with Kingsman than any Bond movies (much less the Craig ones).

Kingsman tried to tread the line between playful parody and serious spy movie, but it ended up being neither. Didn't have any likable characters, the violence was way over the top, and it broke the fourth wall too much. It just wasn't a fun movie to watch for me.

The best part was staring down the blonde woman's ass crack at the end.

Kingsman was a cute movie but nowhere near as impressive as any bond film

If I was to describe one part as impressive -- it would be the fight choreography in that church scene, I know everyone talks about that scene -- but there's a reason for it, it's pretty spectacular.

Loved Kingsman, but I don't really find it comparable to Bond films. They are completely different in tone and aren't trying to be the same thing. Apples and oranges.

Kingsman was like another wanted for me. Great fun but not something to be taken seriously

I didn't know there was such a dislike for skyfall. Reviewed well. I loved it and I thought others did too. Guess I was wrong.

Also most seem to not understand quantum got fucked by writers strike. Calling that movie bad is a waste of everyone's time.

No. I even liked Quantum of Solace a good deal better than Kingsman. James Bond should really be nothing like that movie, including the not very good ultra-stylized action scenes everyone seems to be so fond of.

The concept of Kingsmen - making a modern era Moore-style Bond film is great. I love the idea.

In reality, it was pretty awful. It took mostly shitty aspects from those old Bond films and mixed it up with Stormbreaker.

The whole narrative was classist and boring. Blah blah blah, poor people hit each other, blah blah blah, you need to be a gentleman, blah blah blah, vote Tory.

Some of the action was decent, but really nothing to write home about. The Church scene didn't do particularly much for me. The parachute scene was the only real stand-out, if memory serves me correctly - and even then I preferred most of the set pieces in Spectre to that.

I love the Moore-era Bond films, and I think there really is a place for something like that to be an amazing film in cinemas. Kingsmen wasn't it for me.

Ok. and Gravity is better than Interstellar. and <insert generic action movie here> is better than Mad Max FR. <insert generic fantasy movie here> is better than LoTR:FoTR.

In actual reality, Casino Royale alone is in a different league than Kingsman. I liked Kingsman, nice popcorn fun movie but nowhere near any Craig bond flick as a film.

Yeah kingsman was fantastic, but people get pretty dogmatic when it comes to bond. For a lot of people, bond isn't about being a good movie, it's about checking the boxes on the bond movie form. I loved sky fall, but a lot of the bond diehards weren't too crazy for it.

Kingsman works really well, but you're not going to inspire a lot of good discussion here if all you're saying is that it's better than a bunch of mediocre formula movies.

What's the point?

The church scene was dumb. Gratuitous slaughter with really obnoxious editing style and it went on far too long.

yeah. and it wasn't even that good looking. but the MC was cute and i would have a whole movie with him from his Dog's POV while i watch MC plough someone.
