Where is the video? This is the first I've seen of its. Looks AWESOME

Edit: Just youtubed it... it is everything we wanted from the first one and more!! Friend treasure system better be back!!

By the way didn't the original get a Pro patch? Will have to dig out my copy and play it again <3

Knack > Bloodborne confirmed. FS can't even do a Pro patch while the glorious Knack can.

One of the announcements I'm most excited about. Knack was a solid game with some flaws that they should be able to iron out.

It did. Looks gorgeous.

The target audience liked Knack. I also have a 4 year old who loved it and we had a great time playing together. Can't wait for 2
This is exactly what i've been saying on this thread, i think a lot of us(parents) understand that this game is tons of fun when we play it with our kids. I havent bought Bloodborne because i dont have time to play it when my son isnt at home and i just dont want him to see that much violence, dont know how im gonna play God of war though, i think i will have to play it an hour a day from 9pm (when he goes to sleep) to 10pm(when i go to sleep) idk i just know that i gotta find a way.

Do you have Rayman Legends?

I honestly hope sony releases annual Knack games, each one worse than the last, just to see how far some people will take it

But what if the reverse happens? And with each iteration getting better, they add more co-op options like 3 player co-op then 4 player co-op, then multiplayer? What happens if we all become knacks? lol

Man, Cerny probably already planning ahead with PS5 and Knack 4 for launch.

Yes, sir. We didnt finish the game though. Knack we did like 2 times together, then he played it once more with his mom, he made his mom played through the whole game, i couldnt believe it,i have tried for years to convinced her to play with me and the most she would played was an hour on lbp or motorstorm but not 6 hours at once.

But do you feel like it's gotg as I often read on GAF? :)
To be perfectly honest, I got more pure joy out of playing Knack than any other title this generation. And it's the only game i can say absolutely sure I didn't get sick of yet, and can pop in to play any time. That's the quality I judge my favorite games of all time on. This might go up there for me with Streets of Rage, Phantasy Star IV, and Silent Hill

Who talked it up like that?

Since it isn't a platformer.

Here are a few people that did before it came out...

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/02/20/knack-a-brand-new-platformer-for-the-playstation-4/
Over the years I’ve been involved in a number of character-based action titles – Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank – and with the gameplay of Knack, we’re trying to focus on the essential fun behind the action/platform gameplay.

Mark Cerny is not only the lead system architect of PlayStation 4, he's also a game designer, having worked on games like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Jak & Daxter, and Ratchet & Clank.

And sorry....action / adventure platformer game? Is that specific enough for you?

A bunch of folks have played Knack 2 and reported their findings.

Notable new features include:

> The ability to shrink and grow at any time (not just when scripted)
> A variety of new combat moves, including a host of co-op specific combos
> The ability to upgrade stats in addition to a skill tree for unlocking new moves
> Regenerating health, more frequent checkpoints and different level routes (presumably based on difficulty setting)
> Greater focus on platforming (in some areas, at least)

Already sounds like a huge improvement over the first

Knack 1 felt like some game they rushed out because we need games on PS4 and cant quite get Crash yet so lets pull a new mascot out of our ass.

I can't imagine Crash was even on the horizon until fans wouldn't shut up about the franchise. Knack fit an important launch title niche to give the console a family title, and the character himself is an absolute showcase for polygon count, resolution, and GPU compute in individually animating his component parts. It was doubtless a means of validating the hardware and APIs as they came together.

I just can't see this sequel being made if it was going be trash. I expect a MAJOR improvement. Japan Studio is about to start nice streak of quality games with The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2 and hopefully this.

Word :). ... and it was very fun in co-op too :).

This was by far the most surprising and downright WTF?! announcement of the night. Seriously though, WHY?! How much did the first game even sell? What an utter waste of time for everyone involved. At least the reactions in this thread were good for a hearty chuckle.

I am really salty about this games existence. I'm sure some people will be into this but I really think Sony could have spent their resources better. Where is my Sony funded Platinum game? Microsoft and Nintendo already have theirs.

This game would be better served with less bland geometry and improving those flat textures. Everything looks like it has the same volume on the surface.

Gonna be honest, the trailer didn't look half bad. This sequel can probably be a legit good game. Lets see how it does.

Schweet. That is sounding like some nice improvements. Really hope co-op has an online mode. Would love to play with a friend.

I actually quite liked Knack 1, though I still need to finish it.

My worry about Knack 2 now is that it will be designed around Co-Op gameplay, and as someone that doesn't do that too often it will be like other games (Uncharted, etc) and have me thinking as I play through - "oh that's where the other player would be" so often while I play.

I wonder if they're going to extend the whole idea of Knack imbuing elements to become fire-Knack and the like. It was really underutilized in the first game.

And not sure regenerating health is a good thing. The problem with the first Knack game was that health seemed only loosely linked to Knack's size. You could get pretty fucking big and still get one or two-shotted by enemies in a way that didn't feel right considering.

Really hope they nix the regenerating health on the harder difficulties.

My worry is that the story is being thrown out the window. I really liked what they were doing with the first one.

It really happened, I guess all that PS+ begging caught their attention to put out a sequel. Can we now get Knock on PS+ to build up the fan base before Knack 2?
