Konami ask for feedback for next MGS title

The parts of MGS2 and MGS4 which sucked are because you caved into other people's ideas of what MGS should be, Kojima. Trust your own instincts and we'll get a master piece like MGS1 and 3.
Tanker sucked then? I don't know. I thought it was pretty decent considering it was simply a prologue of the main game.

i think koji pro is going to have a peace walker: sub... for NGP with online play, dual analog support, extra missions, tweaks here and there and other stuff you can add to the game.

it's probably going to be a release for NGP. i still don't know if they're going to bring it to ps3 tho.

I won't be satisfied only with peace walker dual analog support. if mgs will go to NGP, I expect full range of action available in mgs 4. peace walker remove a lot of Snake's action to fit psp button limitation, it works out great because the entire game, level and enemies are designed with the limitation in mind. but for NGP, I want full MGS4 experience (in term of control) including body search, crotch grab, worm crawl etc.

You can't add more stuff to Snake's character and story; this stuff has already gone way beyond the point of being ridiculous.

Knowing Hideo and Konami they're probably thinking of making another clone pop up at some point, or even thinking of telling you Old Snake was actually a clone himself, with Snake's memories.
They'll even try to convince you this was planned from the beginning: that wasn't the real Snake, but he thought he was ! He was a poor attempt at a clone and that's why the character aged so badly. Meanwhile, the real Snake...

Way to troll Big Boss...

Seriously, either remake Metal Gear 2: SS or pick Meryl as lead character this time. That could be interesting.

Solid Snake is my favorite game of the series, but I don't want a remake. The game's fine as it is and a remake will only ruin the plot and retcon it. I don't need that.
There's plenty of other characters in the Metal Gear Universe that could be main characters in the games. Or just reboot the whole thing with new characters and themes.

The Solid Snake saga is finally done, no need to continually bring it back from the dead.

Stop making them, the series is dead. After 2 pretty bad installments I have no faith in Kojima. I don't think he or anyone knows what do the series. I know one thing though, don't listen to the fans.

This. But I guess it doesn't matter anymore since the series has already been ruined with MGS4 and Piss Walker.

so it's becoming apparent that the majority of mgs fans in this thread either haven't played mgs2, or they don't 'get' the points that kojima made so obvious. i know im going to be challenged by this and then i'll have to make a big internet post. urgh.

I love reading your big internet posts about how awesome MGS 2 is. I enjoy agreeing with people.

Has anyone suggested not making another MGS title yet? If not, I'll be the first (something tells me I'm far from the first though). MGS4 killed the franchise and pissed on the ashes while killing paraplegic senior citizens in a military cemetary.

At the very least, shelve the franchise for a good 5-7 years then let someone new have a crack at it.

We all got it. It just made for a shit game and a terrible follow-up. Kojima seemed to forget that he had his tongue in his cheek when he made MGS2.

Yes of course because reiterating the same old tripe on a yearly basis isn't embarrassing at all.

Honestly, you're by far the whiniest "fan" I've seen around the net. You're so deeply devastated that MGS4 didn't stroke your fancock that you completely overlook the many, many merits of that game, and the series in general. By your own admittance your dissappointment with MGS4 invalidates the series as a whole, which is so depressingly narrow-minded, considering Metal Gear has pioneered and influenced many areas in game design.

I love to see what a person like you could do with the creative power invested on H.Kojima and the team at KP. Until you can prove you have a better, grander vision for the series, keep your unappreciative, butthurt blathering to a minimum.

God. Now I WISH the series would just die. Thanks.

I want the weirdness back from MGS2 like with Liquids arm taking over Ocelot and more giant mechs. I wish Kojima didnt wuss out for MGS4 and went with his original vision. I love all the games in the series, but I would like it to have the weirdness of MGS2, awesome bosses like MGS3 and game play like 3 and 4. No nanomachines

on one level, maybe a little it, but not true at all when it comes to the themes and ideas.

My favorite game of all time is MGS1. And i believe this franchise has run its course. It all starts with MGS2 not being a proper sequel, MGs3 being a prequel, and then MGS4 featuring a really old solid snake, a retarded Liquid/Ocelot and a need to tie all the loose end, and that ending...

It has been downhill, and the whole portable spin offs thing going on the PSP...there's no longer a sense of being something special. And now Rising, which i bet is gonna suck.

Either you do a reboot, or you just let it be.

Keep making Kojima doing what he's been doing, but more.

I wouldn't mind MGS on the NGP, the controls issue would be gone

mgs2 is a ''proper sequel.''

But it is pretty great. The series died after MGS2.

There are only two acceptable solutions right now: kill the franchise, or (because we know Konami won't kill the cash cow) COMPLETE reboot. Start from square one again.

The last time they tried listening to the vocal fans the result was MGS4, so I'm not sure a survey is a good idea in the first place. Almost all of the questions being gameplay focused is a good sign though.

We all know that's not going to happen. Konami would fill for bankruptcy.

I know, hence my last post. Reboot this bitch. Get rid of all the baggage, characters and ludicrous plots and start again. Finally get rid of Hayter too.

It really isn't.

Themes and ideas that had nothing to do with MGS1, playing Raiden as part of this simulation like thing, Solidus (Clone angle getting retarded).

It went full retard.

Let Kojima either do ZOE3 or something new maybe akin to Snatcher and Policenauts.

Yes that's what we need from Kojima, more games with barely any gameplay in them.

I don't remember this much hate before MGS4 and right after.

I remember people debating on if it'd come to the 360 after release, not "how shitty the series is and how it needs a reboot".

You fuckers are laughable, you obviously don't give a shit about the games yet you still post in the thread.

Anyways, I did the survey a couple of days ago, but I hope it's more like MGS4 than PW just with less cutscenes and less Act 3.

No, only you care. Probably because we hate MGS 4, so, therefore, we are not fans of the series. Because MGS 4 is perfect. Game of the forever.

I could care less about mgs!!!!

1=2=3>4

Shut up

Edit: Only the long cutscenes and the fact that Act 3 was pretty much unreplayable really dragged it down, but the actual gameplay is awesome, so many ways to approach each situation.

Someone probably needs to chill down a bit.
There's nothing wrong with criticizing a game you still love/like.

MGS2 is Kojima at its craziest. I don't find it to be anything like Metal Gear "let's try to please the fans but fail miserably" Solid 4. It's easy to see MGS2 is a game Kojima wanted to make, filled with original ideas left and right, even if some of them don't work all that well.

MGS2 ftw.

And there is my annual limit of times I'll agree with jett all used up. If you hate MGS2, I probably hate you.

I would take a director's cut that featured the original ending and cut the crap out of MGS4. I don't see why he can't do it

Snake and Otacon being tried and executed, while awesome, couldnt have salvaged that POS.

Pretty much. Although it's an interesting angle, it doesn't really match the tone or content of MGS4.

Honestly, who thought Drebin and his monkey was a good idea? Or Johnny and Meryl? Or that absolutely wretched wedding scene? Jesus, I feel faint just thinking about it.
