Capcom
Capcom released its financial results for the year ended March 31, 2014, revealing both sales and profits were up for the company in part due to the success of Monster Hunter 4.
The game publisher noted sales of 102.2 billion yen (roughly $1 billion) for the full year, with profits of 3.4 billion yen ($33.8 million), an increase of 15 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.
Capcom highlighted the "explosive popularity" of Monster Hunter 4 as well as strong sales for Dead Rising 3 and Resident Evil Revelations for its successful year. Monster Hunter 4 launched in September 2013 in Japan and has since sold 4.1 million units, making it Capcom's sixth best selling video game.
Likewise, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen was said to show "firm sales" while Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Dual Destiny hit its sales targets. The company also noted lower than expected sales for the release of Lost Planet 3, stating this was "due in part to intensifying competition in the European and U.S. markets." Lost Planet 3 received a 7 out of 10 from Polygon.
