Its sad how many people cheat at games. They're fucking video games people. Online in a lot of games is being ruined by cheating. And I include people using M/KB on TF2 PS4 as cheaters. Its sad what people will do to get a leg up in a video game. How about just playing on an even playing field with everyone else.

I still have a VAC ban on my account from 10 years ago. I continue to get hackusations on nearly a daily basis on CSGO because of that . Wish it would drop off after a decade

This is all great and funny and such but ban waves put me on edge. I've been banned from a game before for cheating when I wasn't and it's BS when it happens, especially for something that you spend money on for micro transactions and gear.

That's not fun when you're not good. I only like to play multiplayer games when I'm good at them and manage to kick most people's ass. When I tend to lose at games, I quit. Losing sucks, it's not fun. So I can see why people would be inclined to cheat to make games fun.

Or just keep playing until you inevitably get a little better. I'm not great at Titanfall 2 or Rocket League but I enjoy the gameplay loop enough that I enjoy getting my ass kicked and try to improve.

Man, I miss the lawless days of XBL, where trash talking was encouraged and the Enforcement Team had snarky comments for the whiners.

That said, I don't miss ruining an AMAZING run in N+ because I suddenly got banned. Had "kickass" in my profile and apparently pissed somebody off in MP. Kept my head down since then.

But you're at an obvious advantage over anyone using standard controls. Its a performance enhancement that gives you an edge over people using the controller your supposed to be using. I'm cool with things like the XboxOne Elite Controller as its just a nicer controller that still uses sticks to aim, etc. Using a mouse to aim is so much easier its essentially cheating.

iirc there was some incident with Dark Souls 3 where some dickhead would get people banned by hitting them with a hacked weapon. On a side note, FromSoft/Bamco would ban people for graphical mods, which sucked

Years ago my original Steam account was banned, I couldn't even log into it. They eventually gave my account back over a year later. It was complete BS. False bans most certainly happen.

Yes, over five years ago in MW2. Still don't know why but the only reason I can think of is that I was put in a prestige lobby. Apparently they don't ban people for that but at the time maybe they did. It's the only thing that comes to mind.

A 7k mmr dota account is worth $700 USD.
It's not just cheating, it's financial gain.

Most of the VAC I suspect are bots in Dota and csgo exploiting matchmaking cheats and item farming. VAC has a much broader definition than simply cheating to win.

On the official RuneScape forums back in the day, you'd see all kinds of people claiming they were falsely banned. Or their "friends" were falsely banned.

The most frequent reason for bans were people using bots to power-level or mine resources. The explanations people would come up with for why they had been playing for 81 straight hours were pretty funny. And there was ALWAYS an incriminating admission in the defense. Like, nobody knows why you were banned, you're posting from a burner account, but they always had some sort of cover-up for something super specific.

Like, "I have no idea why I was banned I never cheated or used any bots or anything. I play legit and I just lost my whole account after years of hard work. I was chopping a ton of wood lately, maybe that's why. But I definitely wasn't cheating I just needed a lot of wood and played straight through an entire weekend without talking to anybody or responding deviating from the same cyclical path:"

Or "I just had my level 100 account banned for no reason and I don't know why. I was doing everything normal.
