Lack of E3 rumours this year?

I recall someone making this kind of thread around this time last year, and then 2 weeks later we had a "Why is E3 so leaky?" thread.

For the stuff that's left, some thoughts:

- The J-RPGs are meant to be Sony collabs on some level. Haven't really seen the guy talk about them much since post-E3. Most people believe they don't exist at this point.
- A new Sly seems like a logical assumption to make, but no confirmation yet.
- A new Crash feels impossible, and like Verendus is screwing with us.
- The creator of Shadow Hearts is working on a new title, but he won't say what it is. Pretty sure it's not SH3 though.
- Between FF15, World of FF, and FF7: Remake I'm betting we won't hear about FFXVI until E3 2017 at the earliest.
- A new Parasite Eve sounds like BS, only Square had that thing they said a while back about trying to reinvigorate new IPs, and Motomu Toriyama has been silent for a couple years now. Feel free to connect the dots or erase them entirely.
- Capcom had an earnings thing not too long ago that brought up another Monster Hunter title that they expected to sell beneath what MH usually sells, and it supposedly wasn't Stories. This could be that, but I never found out what happened to it.
- DMC5 has been teased for awhile. A friend of mine pointed out the Pachinko thing and suggested the franchise was dead, but honestly I just don't see you remastering DMC4 AND DmC without it going somewhere.
- A new Prince of Persia sounds legitimately impossible. No idea WTF dude was talking about there.
- That cyberpunk action/adventure/RPG thing sounds lit, but I have no idea who could be making it. Unless 4A Games has a surprise for us. Their next game is supposed to be sandbox-y. (Total shot in the dark. Except the sandbox thing, that's real.)
- The Marvel Action/Adventure thing isn't even Verendus making stuff up. That's confirmed, it's just a matter of finding out what it is. SP! Spider-Man would be awesome, but I kinda want a great Iron Man game.
- There was a tease on the Soul Calibur Facebook page after Lost Swords got shut down that fans should "look forward to the next announcement".

Wait, really? I didn't expect a Wolfenstein sequel till about 2019, but if its that far along, Holiday 2017 seems likelier, along with a full multiplayer component in some form.
 
Well, I think Battletoads fans have a lot to look forward to. There was an insider here on GAF who confirmed it's being worked on. Which isn't really surprising to be honest. There's been tons of stuff MS has been doing with Battletoads lately, so it was only a matter of time.

But it's good that we don't have leaks. Leaks ruin surprises.
 
After last years E3 Megaton of announcements it doesn't surprise me.

I expect this E3 to be mostly updates on existing projects with a new game or 2 for each console. Though I guess that isn't far off from the usual.
 
What dreams are left any more? Naughty Dog just came out with a game, JRPGS galore have been announced, Shenmue 3 is a thing, Street Fighter 5 happened, and GT was shown before E3. I doubt this E3 will be any where near as good as last year.
 
There are a lot of projects that we know of that will be getting updates. That alone is good for me. I expect a few surprises.
 
Dont leaks happen like two weeks before its still far to early


Side note i do love the threads with the set pieces going up its like the beginning of e3 for me look forward to that thread every year

Crash Team Racing Online racing/battling
 
It doesn't help Nintendo told us exactly what they're doing. If they said NX was going to be shown then you would be seeing a ton of rumors, but since they're not showing it and only Zelda, its made this E3 pretty quiet.

Gameplay footage wise it can demolish last year's E3 of Dreams imo. More PS4 games have matured(1st & 3rd party) and are ready for that prime time. Let us hope they go all out with gameplay footage. Go all out with gameplay footage, yes? Yes.

Can't freaking wait. :::)

Then, a week out, once there are rumors going around, the "Am I the only one who's bummed out because all the surprises for E3 have already been spoiled?" threads will come.

Yep, it is practically a tradition at this point.

Either way, ships don't get leaky until about 2 weeks before E3. So, we got another week to wait before we enter leak season.
 
I want to see Shenmue III gameplay. And a multiplatform Shenmue HD from Sega.

I also hope Nintendo can at least officially announce the console a few days prior to E3, no real secrets - just a tease and the name, so developers can start announcing games for it. A lot of new announcements this year will likely be 2017 releases, so having the [console name TBA] logo on the reveal trailer from the start is a huge plus.

Depends on what you're looking for. I love Naughty Dog but UC4 was a foregone conclusion, not something to hope for. There's always room for more JRPGs (particularly since SO5 unfortunately didn't set the world on fire), Shenmue 3 was just an announcement it's not a "thing" until we see some gameplay. SF5 isn't anything I care about, neither is GT.

Honestly:

- Injustice 2
- Watch_Dogs 2
- Whatever Warner Bros is working on besides Suicide Squad
- Marvel's console project presuming it's not an MMO/MOBA/LEGO thing.
- Mass Effect: Andromeda
- Horizon: Zero Dawn

That's enough for a great conference. If this gets announced then E3 2016 is excellent.

Despite rumours, i really want a new Parasite Eve with a similar tone/atmosphere as the first one. Like i really, really want it.
 
Theoretically the Destiny: Rise of Iron leak could be considered an E3 leak, I'd assume that when they wanted to unveil it. Perhaps we're seeing the beginning of leaks.

Usually takes more time for these to happen though, it'd give it time. I'm sure someone is going to slip up.
 
If Rockstar announce a RDR2 or GTAVI, that will make it a great E3 for me. We already know there is a new Rockstar game being announced soon, and presumably that will be at E3. I expect it will be RDR2 rather than a new GTA though....they probably want to milk as much $ out of GTA:O as they can for a while longer.

Providing a stage to announce a kickstarter wasn't that cool imo, The Last Guardian outshone it with the gameplay and its Sony budget.

FFVII remake was probably the clear #1 for the most people, even after the leak as you said.

I guess I'm in minority though. This E3 is excited for me. I want to see how Sony handle PS4K/Neo announcement after negative reactions from forums, MS's vision for future Xbox brand, Nintendo with NX...oh, ok, errr the Zelda U game.
 
If DMC5 is going to be revealed part of me wishes it would leak beforehand. I know the surprise would be great, but I hate hyping myself up every year for it. Though if it doesn't show this year, it most likely will be at next E3 (or TGS).

Yeah, I don't think any new GTA would be announced either. There is going to be a big update to GTA Online coming very soon. With the Remastered versions I think that game is going to be fine for awhile. If there is some sort of announcement from Rockstar it will be something Red Dead related.....be it the new game or them finally bringing the original to the new consoles, then they announce the sequel at a later time.
