Lady parallel parks onto Ferrari 458 Speciale at car meet

If I backed into a $300,000 car I would expect to get an earful.

As one should in that situation, lol. The fuck. Dude shouldn't get violent but I'm not gonna hold it against him for being upset when there's PLENTY of room to park correctly.

This expectation that people should be passionless robots and that his anger is not justified baffles me.

It's his car, someone not paying attention fucked it up. That's happened to me before with a FAR cheaper car and I was angry. Nothing abnormal about that.

Can only imagine the people trash-talking the ferrari owner would react the same, if not worse, in this situation.

They'd be just as mad. Fuck the bull.

Good to know people with money have no right to get upset at "small" stuff.

Don't you know, having money means you're supposed to not have human emotions. Listen, there's a lot of things to criticize the wealthy about. Being upset an incompetent drive smashed your car isn't one of them.

After watching the video I can only assume some people would call douchebag anyone who walks up to them to complain about something, even if they act calm.

Yeah, watched the video 3 times and the Ferrari owner is amazingly calm under the circumstances. To invent such malevolence says way more about these people posting than the car owner.

The posters talking about the Ferrari owner as if he beat the shit out of the woman in front of her kids are weird.

Ferrari owner must learn to suppress his humanity. He exists only to be a stereotype of middle-aged arrogance and excess.

It's impossible for this man to express real pain without representing Biff.

He must remain a stoic, forgiving android for that is his place in this world.

Another thing about the video as well is that it happened at a Cars and Coffee event.

For those unfamiliar, Cars and Coffee are auto enthusiast events that happen nationwide in large cities where people go to show off and discuss cars.

So you have an auto enthusiast event where people go specifically to show off their rare or favorite cars and a guy ends up getting his own vehicle damaged. I seriously cant believe people are truly blaming the owner. This wasn't some trip to the groceries where this happened.

Apparently him being able to afford a Ferrari means he has no right to be upset when someone damages said Ferrari.

I remember being in this little book store and we heard the sound of a car in the parking lot hitting into a parked car.

I was talking to the book store employee about hearing the accident right after it happened and the employee said something to the effect of "the most important thing is that no one seems hurt" before realizing it was their car.

The person then began freaking out over their car with obscenities and shouting as they rushed out of the shop.

It demonstrates that people are justifiably upset when things happen to their car. No matter how shitty the vehicle is. It doesn't matter if the car is owned by a book store clerk or a Ferrari "douchebag." People are human beings with emotions.

Yeah, I find the people that are mad at the Ferrari owner to be idiotic at best. At best. Especially when they bring up the guy having enough money to afford it. I mean, seriously? Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.

Unless that lady was having some kind of medical issue when it happened, she deserves to get an earful and deserves whatever legal repercussions come from this. Being a dumbass doesn't absolve you of responsibility.

- Sees guy getting a little pissed off because his astronomically expensive car got damaged

- Goes into a frothing rage about 'macho posturing', 'pieces of shit', 'assholes' and how it wasn't a reasonable situation to get angry in

Logic!

After the viral shenanigans of skateboard kid, I wouldn't be surprised if this was fake too.

Boring vid either way.

Some strange hate going on here Ferrari guy was a saint compared to how he could have acted.

Seriously. The second he finds out that there's another car parked on top of his $300,000 Ferrari he says "Are you serious" and just stands there. He didn't even yell. I swear some people just love jumping up on a moral high horse and judging other people's behavior for no reason whatsoever.

That's not even a moral high horse. It's straight up bitterness that someone is doing better than they are so obviously they will defend the poor defenseless woman whose crime was nothing but not be rich. It's saddening.

Wow that's terrible. I wonder how the driver of the Ferrari handled it.

Oh shit, it was the dude in the blue t shirt at the ends car? Yeah he seemed as pissed as you would expect, stupid woman.

Probably fake, just like that skateboard one.

That was fake?

How are ppl talking shit about the Ferrari owner for being mad? Some fucking moron runs over my PARKED car I'm going to be pissed Ferrari or not tbh.

He's a douchebag punk, with his macho posturing that isn't fooling anyone. He's just one of those assholes you see in a bar in a college town that grunts and says fuck every third word, because you lightly brushed against him on the way to a table and he got some beer on his polo. Only now he's over the hill and balding, and someone scratched his midlife crisis.

There's no "victim" here. Dude got the corner of his car banged up, and it will be fixed. Nothing of consequence happened, so there's no reason to act like a piece of shit, berating a woman in front of her kids.

His midlife crisis...lmao. You have no idea how or when this guy bought this car, much less his motivations for doing so...and insulting his looks? Way to be the douchebag you claim the guy in the video is. I think if someone fucked up my insanely expensive PARKED car, I would be subject to some raw emotion in that moment.

Yeah, pal. There IS a "victim" here...the guy that had his PARKED car damaged by a person who had no clue how to parallel park without causing an insurance claim.

Seems to be working alright for other countries. Even 100k is ridiculously low if you think about crashes involving multiple cars.

edit: Checked my policy. 100 Millions is my max coverage and that's a generic ass policy and after some googling seems to be pretty much standard.

$20m for me. The States really struggles with sensible insurance options.

so many how's in this thread is baffling to me. I think all of you work for benz.

She stepped on the gas and probably over acclerated (while probably accidentally being in reverse when she assumed she was going to go froward)

I would also assume she went even harder after the shock of going the wrong way

Is this a joke post?

For anyone still interested, there is another vid that shows the actual damage.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kF9zLx1kcRI

my guess is the car will get a new bumper, new hood and a new headlight. that would be the bare minimum.
however there could be other optional things like front lift system that we don't know of.

[EDIT]: And as i said before that Benz had expired tags...

Yeah, fixing it really won't be much of an issue. But the resell value is forever fucked. Especially with it being a modern Ferrari. It's years away from really going up a lot in value and it's always going to have a wreck and body parts replaced on its record.

ah, that will buff out.

And nobody here cares about the poor Benz. She's at least 30-35 years old and still looks gorgeous, although being owned and driven by a not very skilled/talented driver.

Well, it seems this 'plastic' car at least didn't do to much damage to the old lady. ;-)

Ehh you could probably buff that out..a little spit and polish. Oiy.

Dude's reaction was completely reasonable...not like he came in with fists flying.

Last accident I had the scuff marks came out literally with some spit and a rag. Was kinda shocked. So was the guy that sideswiped me. Then we started laughing. And thankfully insurance didn't get involved.

People who are hating the Ferrari owner are just plain stupid. Its one thing buffing out a scratch out of a Nissan Micra, its a totally different story on a £150,000+ vehicle much like that Ferrari. Last thing you want is a scuff or a dent on a top car like that. If that vehicle needed a new bumper or some minor repairs, you are expecting it to leap in the thousands easily. A car like this doesn't go into a cheap ass body shop to get repaired, therefore repair bills, even for a scuff, will be high. Want proof? My Mercedes E350 2013 plate required a new bumper, and i got quoted close to £1000 + painting + fitting as it requires the parking sensors to be drilled and fitted back in. How much do you think a Ferrari repair like that would charge? Theres a good reason why these cars are always low mileaged and well looked after. The only people who have the luxury to drive these cars like a datsun are people from Dubai/UAE

If it's so precious a car, don't put it on the road. I get buying quality cars, but if you don't have enough money to cover the repairs of a 150k car, then don't drive a 150k car.

You're incredibly bitter. It's really sad

Are you serious?

This is one of the craziest posts I have seen on this forum and that's a feat.

Thats terrible. She could have just drove in haha.

I would be mad as hell tho. It just such a fucked up and unwaranted situation. There was no difficulty in that park job.

The place this happened, Kate's Coffee, actually has a bar attached to it named The Old Brogue, and I frequent it every weekend practically. I wasn't there for this, but kinda crazy to see this on GAF regardless.

Oh, stop. God forbid someone gets (non-violently) upset because someone did something completely stupid to damage a valuable item. Or should we all just hold back every emotion until we suffer from a stroke from bottling it all up?

Who said anything about not having enough money to cover the repairs of the car? Its down to the insurance company to remedy the damage of the cars depending whos at fault. Its the fact it will leave a dent in a wallet, regardless if you are a successful millionaire and you had to pay the damage or the insurance company themselves. Doesnt stop people from driving such a car, and I dont think people make such a heavy investment in a car just so it can look pretty on a drive way, unless its a rareity, in which even then, some people take it out on special occasions.
