Last SC3 characters revealed (favourites return!)

What kind of weapon does Li Long use? he looks awesome.

I thought they were just adding SC1 chracters that werent in SC2, but i guess they are adding characters that were from Soul Blade and Soul Edge or something too ?

I cant wait for this game =/

Li Long was the original user of the nunchuck blades in Soul Blade/Edge. This is like the ultimate Soul fanservice game, everyone is back!

Everyone has their own stage. I also just noticed that there's some pretty heavy self-shadowing going on. Or, another-shadowing. Weapons and body cast shadows on the other player. I just noticed it now playing with Astaroth vs Talim on a bright stage. He simply eclipses her :lol

SC2 had shadows off the weapons onto characters, but did it have characters shadowing each other?

Ivy has stances.

Here's the shadowing. She's darker from the belt down, as you can see.

Heh, we been nagging for a while for DoA4 should have some sort of selfshadowing. SC2 and SC3 looks are like the few fighters this gen with selfshadowing.

Fuck... DO NOT infect another thread with this.

Evolution didn't have Self-Shadowing?

Hm...don't remember that. But if it doesn't than I guess it doesn't.

VF4 didn't have self-shadowing, as for Evo, I got to check again on that. SC3 self-shadowing looks be better than SC2's with that pic posted above. SC2's self-shadowing was a bit flaky at times.

SC2 has self shadowing? I tried the game right now and I cant spot a single shadow from the model being cast onto him/herself. And there is no shadow being cast from one character onto the other like the SC3 either..

In SC2 only weapons cast shadows onto the wielder and the other character. In SC3 weapons cast shadows on the wielder and the entire character casts shadows on the other character.

Awesome! This background is back...I hope the same BGM returns as well!

I'm so getting this game...I wasn't really all that hyped up before, but I definitely am now.

The only characters I wish they would kill of forever are Spermvantes and Voldo. I hate those guys.

You hate him because you do not understand him. Voldo is my favorite character to use in the Soul Series. It's just so damn fun to own people with his crazy ass fighting style. If this is online, I'll teach everyone to respect Voldo!

Respect completely unpredictable movesets that defy even fantasy physics?

Voldo is an extremely cheap character.

If you play against him enough, you will know what to expect. I think the problem you guys are having is the same reason that I own so much in the arcade- no one uses Voldo...so when you come across an expert Voldo player you get whooped. My friends were thrown off when I decideced to start using Voldo, but once they figured him out it they matches became equally competitive. I definetly wouldn't call him a cheap character..you just need to figure out how to fight him. If you consider yourself an expert then you should have no problem fighting any character in the game.

Will SC3 be online or not?

Figuring out how to fight him = memorizing his moves. Not terribly hard, but not exactly a win in the "balance" column.

I don't remember the topic though... sorry. :(

No online so far.

*sighs*

Maybe next gen.

I'm glad about the customization, I find a lot of the 2P costumes to be ugly. I never really bothered with customizing in VF4 or Tekken 5, but all the options make me interested in SC3's.

I've been playing a bit of SC3 and Li Long feels NOTHING like Maxi. For one, he has no pure soul loop stances.

Have you gotten to see how Hwang feels? Like SC1 or like Assassin in SC2? Does he seem to have any changes made?

You are dumb.

I are not!

In all honesty I'd say they are about even.
I think each game, DOAU and SC3, do a good job at playing on each of the console's strengths.

If you notice the only stage with rain in DOAU is in a very confined area with almost no draw distance beyond a few feet. SC3 on the other hand is drawing oceans filled with boats splashing about that are on fire. I see fur shading and self shadowing in SC3 but none of that in DOAU. Tons of moving objects like flapping sails, butterflies fluttering around, and mist and spray particles all over the place in SC3. I don't see much of that in DOAU although the safari stage is awesome.

There are lots of differences between the two games, but as a whole, I can't see how anyone could put one over the other in terms of graphics, technicaly.

What I mean is, from what I've seen, Soul Calibur 3 sure as hell wouldn't look any better on the Xbox. Just as good? Maybe... Better? No.

OT: Is there a Soul Calibur site like Vdfc for Virtua Fighter where one can find detailed dojos and guides for different characters?

I wholeheartedly approve of the return of Li Long.

Also, I'd totally hit that owl thing.
