Man, you guys weren't kidding. His UK viewers are going off on that video.
It seems the UK has a lot of armchair politicians watching his show and they know for a fact he's wrong and they should vote 'Leave'

Er.. the clip at least, since many of them go point by point through what he says.

Not really. A lot of commenters already wrote off John's opinions because of his "liberal bias" and for not bringing up the pros for leaving as if he's obligated to. It's just pathetic all around.

Not so different from whenever he or anyone on YouTube takes shots against Donald Trump and you have Trump supporters demanding a video on Hillary in the comments. Also cuckcuckcuckcuckcuckcuckcuckCUCKCUUUUUUUUUUCK did I mention they love calling people cucks?

Let's not forget "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S 'CURRENT YEAR'!!!", the rallying cry of conservative children eager to beat-up strawmen.

Must have just been the replies I saw then.

I wish this Drumph thing would die it's so dumb and isn't catching on. Stop using it people.

Oh and why will next episode be "interesting" did I miss something?

Maybe it'll be John staring at the camera in shock for 16 minutes.

He's going to point at that 72% voter turnout rate and say:

The show hasn't brought up Donald Drumpf since that episode. John will gladly remind viewers about Trump's tiny little baby hands, though.

It was a good segment, but this fell short for me. I don't think they even scratched the surface.

But I cannot fault them too much, it's just that the show cannot really get completely around it. There is a by-paritsan discussion with steroids and its place, and the damage to the human body, as well as the entire system of forcing and pressuring athletes into doping and roids.

In Europe we've seen the failures due to Tour De France. The endless scandals have followed the tour ever since Indurains historic reign in the early 90s.

There also was no time for Oliver to talk about the rio olymics themselves which deserve their own segment. And in that, there is an entire segment on how steroids and enhancements are treated in Brazil, where in some places you can buy steroids and doping like aspirin.
I do martial arts where the drugs completely embedded even in Amateur competition. I cannot tell you how many young guys I see, some of whom I have fought in tournaments who I am almost certain have been juicing.
The damage it does to the body, the feedback loop that happens when young people get baited into this, because the others are doing it to is devastating. Even if you remove the moral questions about fair play, there is an entire discussion about the health risks long term of juicing your body.

I hear that post regulations in US baseball, that athletes perform a lot worse now. Bill Burr has talked about this on his podcast, about guys like Barry Bonds (I believe his name was) was performing to inhuman levels.

There's a special breed of disappointment when you get a notification for a new John Oliver video, only to see that the title isn't "Brexit II - Judgement Day" or something

As much as I like the show, that's true for pretty much every segment they've ever done though. With some prior knowledge of what John is talking about, you'll notice almost always some (sometimes big) omissions and, with a few exceptions, their "research" mostly seems to be just two or three PBS reports stitched together. It's nevertheless a lot of fun obviously and usually offers at least some insight into the issue, but it's still first and foremost entertainment, not that much more.

Yeah, the Olympic testing seems pretty corrupt especially when IOC favoritism is taken into account, there's been attempted cover up for a lot of popular athletes including U.S. Ones. Damn near everyone is on something and if they're not they're probably not making it.

This episode was great and I was glad that they covered this whole idea that Donald Trump and the GoP are believers. They don't care about facts, they FEEL a certain way, they BELEIVE a certain thing so thats how it is to them. In that CNN interview the anchor was literally telling facts about the FBI's statistic and he wasn't just ignoring them he was saying they were wrong because he BELIEVES they are wrong with no factual evedence to back it up.

Like holy shit no wonder I can't stand any of these people and what they fight for. There is no logical sense to them they have no fucking idea what they are talking about and yet people give them an open platform to spew completely ignorant nonsensical bullshit.

It's not wonder Donald Trump has come so far, there are two kinds of people in this world Thinkers and Believers, and Trump is telling that latter category exactly what they want to hear even if its provably wrong on every level.

I think this election is more about this then it is about political parties at this point, you can hold conservative values and be a thinker but these people don't care about the truth or facts just the agenda they want to push and they need to be shut down. They shouldn't have any credentials to stand on its like giving the a crazy man who thinks he can prove when the world is going to end and giving him a national platform to talk about his ideas and then is joined by all the other crazy people who think they can predict the end of the world to all spew the same nonsense.

Seems like this latest episode doesn't air on HBOgo. Why am I too lazy to boot up directv and hook up sound to it? Looking forward to it being on youtube in some form.

It's not an instant addition to HBOGo like Game of Thrones is. For some reason it's delayed a few hours. I think it's 2am EST.

Leading is more than just facts and doing the right thing. It's about getting people to believe things regardless of the facts presented. It was part of the reason Obama was able to beat the odds and be the first black pres (Hope).

Clinton unfortunately isn't stirring up that kind of emotion, trump is. It is why this election is dangerous if people that believe in liberal policies skip the vote because of what they personally think about Hillary. It's not about these individuals it is about ideologies.

If trump wins, it means that divisive thinking is still the most dominant opinion in the US, regardless if it's the majority opinion or not. And it means this country still had a long way to go

Always been the case. All their live stuff as far as I know, including Bill Maher's Real Time, is uploaded the next day. Usually by early afternoon or so. It seems like it's occasionally earlier.

The episodes are posted 9PM pacific/12AM eastern.

I liked that John talked a bit about how Kasich was offered a role as a shadow president, which somehow got next to zero coverage last week. Blows my mind.
