What the hell is wrong with you? I know you like Conan because of the Joel reference, but you hate Andy? His one-liners are rarely bad.
I just find his enthusiasm to be forced and his voice grates on me. Then again, I find the big bang theory to be horrendously predictable/derivative and only somewhat funny, masking those major faults with the occasional klingon joke. It just takes a little more to get past some of my jaded-ness I guess :lol

Oh god I'd pay big to see him live if he comes anywhere near here. I guess I could make the 4 hour trip to Toronto if they get a venue big enough :D

that's entirely the point

Then maybe I just haven't 'gotten it' yet, just like how I used to dislike Corner Gas before I 'got it' and now adore the show. I'll try and open my mind a little lol

...Did you just compare Andy Richter to the Big Bang Theory?

I am disgust.

... you... adore... Corner Gas?

Corner Gas.

That one?

Corner Gas.

Yeah... you've just lost all credibility.

I pray for the day someone in real life says "you just haven't gotten corner gas yet".
Well, it's a commentary on contemporary rural communities left behind by the substantial migration of skilled and educated individuals to cities. The typical representation of peasants frames them as everyday people that even city peoples can relate to, while in Corner Gas they are conversely, yet appropriately, substituted with and represented by characters with a complete lack of wit, humour, or anything whatsoever interesting to say or do. The painful experience that is Corner Gas is, indeed, subversive in its treatment of our bifurcated modern society.

Otherwise it is mistaken as a shitty, boring sitcom.

Nope. Just saying that I don't always align with the popular opinion on some tv show characters. I would take Richter over BBT any day

I'd like to point out that GAF Opinion rarely aligns with anything resembling the majority opinion of people.. Show is/was popular here

Someone actually did and forced me to watch a few episodes and now I don't hate it. Apparently it took watching a number to get most people I know who like it to like it :lol I used to think the show was horrendously un-funny and slow

Anyways enough de-railing, bring on Conan Live!

Bravo. Could not have said it better. Canadian tax dollars at waste.

yeah, what the fuck is Corner Gas?

It's this terrible show on CTV in Canada. It's produced partly using tax dollars. Like a lot of Canadian "comedies" it's only about as good as the worst, unproduced script for an American sit-com pilot. It's about a bunch of mentally retarded (literally, I think) gas station employees who get into hijinks with their SOs, parents, caretakers, etc.

It stars unfunny Canadian "actors" who were either too untalented or ugly to make it big in the US.

It was on the air for something like five years, which is really rare for a tv show in this country (most of them fail miserably, or don't have enough interest in them to be produced for a second series).

A lot of these shows usually get caught up in being very "Canadian" to the point of cliche. Ie; very hocky, curling, donutee, etc. They play up the Canadian steretypes for some reason I'll never understand and thus, never relate to.

So? Ratings rarely speak to quality. Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men are currently the most popular sitcoms in Canada.

While I would love that to happen since I am moving back into town, I highly doubt that will happen man.

Leno's first guests when he's back on the Tonight Show:
Monday, March 1 – Guests include Jamie Foxx, Olympic Gold Medal Skier Lindsey Vonn and a musical performance by Brad Paisley

Tuesday, March 2 – Guests include Sarah Palin, Olympic Gold Medal Snowboarder Shaun White

Wednesday, March 3 – “Jaywalk All-Stars” with the Cast of “Jersey Shore,” Chelsea Handler, the most decorated American Winter Olympian of all time Speed Skater Apolo Anton Ohno and a musical performance by Avril Lavigne

Thursday, March 4 – Guests include Matthew McConaughey and Jason Reitman

Friday, March 5 – Guests include Morgan Freeman and Meredith Vieira

Monday, March 8 – Guests include Simon Cowell

Tuesday, March 9 – Guests include Christoph Waltz, Animal Expert Dave Salmoni and a musical performance by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts

Wednesday, March 10 – Guests include Kristen Stewart and Guy Fieri

Thursday, March 11 – Guests include Dana Carvey and Kim Kardashian, with a musical performance by Colbie Caillat

Friday, March 12 – Guests include Dakota Fanning and Judd Apatow
So basically... if the only reason you wanted to watch Leno is because of the guests, you won't have to tune in these first two weeks. Seems like nobody interesting.

You have a strange definition of "interesting". If you're someone who watches talk shows for the guests, I can see several people on that list you might find interesting. Especially if you're into sports/olympics.

Interviews with gold medalists, Jersey Shore and American Idol stars, and two stars from Twilight. America will eat this shit up, man.

The only talkshow where I'm interested in the guests is Craig Ferguson's. So to me personally, I meant 'interesting' as in 'entertaining', and none of these guests really come across to me as entertaining. Sure, it's incredibly impressive that those Olympic medalists won, but they're usually not the most entertaining in interviews. I'd have though Leno would book at least one 'comic' guest as well, surely there's some big name comedian he could get on his first week. But in the first week, I'd only call Chelsea Handler fitting of that tag. Second week, Dana Carvey and perhaps Judd Apatow (though he's more the director-type than the comedian-type). But honestly, if Dana Carvey's the biggest comedian you have in your first two weeks... that's not very entertaining. Carvey hasn't been popular in years.

What does a douchebag first thing to do ?

Interview another bigger douchebag.

Well done.
:lol That's what I was thinking.

That's a great guest line-up, in my opinion. Damn.
Really, though? I don't agree at all. Letterman's line-up, for the same week, includes Jerry Seinfeld, Tom Hanks, and Matt Damon. Those honestly seem like bigger/funnier/better names to me.

Interesting? Yes. Funny? Hardly. When I watch a late-night show, I don't want interesting... interesting is for Oprah or Ellen. Funny is for Conan, Letterman and Ferguson.

I would have loved to see Conan (and his audience) destroy the cast of Jersey Shore like he did the other two MTV retards. My prediction is either Leno telling them that they are best people on earth or lightly touching on the controversy before telling them they are the best people on earth.

WTF what happened to the planned celebrity boycotts?
Those fucking traitors!

Conan? Tour? Yes! Please come to Seattle in May. I should be there by then.
I support Conan going on tour so he can keep fresh while the Fox deal gets hammered out.

I hope it gets hammered out. I know that Letterman's contract is up this year, but he's not going to step aside yet.

The Creep Jay Leno commercial is fitting but the real one with the Beatles singing 'get back to where you once belong' makes me want to kill puppies.

I haven't seen the real driving commercial yet but from the looks of the stills I'd throw something through the tv if it comes on.

They're the most popular in America too, sadly.

At least the Office and How I Met Your Mother aren't far behind.
