Yeah, thats the big question for S4 - if not Penny, who is coming to the island? I keep saying its more Dharma peeps, perhaps setting up a new struggle in S4. But thats baseless speculation, so who knows?

Greatest Hits was such a heart wrenching episode. In theory, it should've been cheesy, but it just blew me away. I'm glad they didn't kill him that episode, because you just can't kill a guy after that much awesome.

You bring up a good point about Desmond, nobody's mentioned anything about that yet. On top of that, he knows the boat's not Penny's. Imagine the looks he'll give to Jack and vice versa when they tell each other what's up. :lol

I want to see Jack chatting up the dudes from the SS NotPenisBoat, like maybe three of them and suddenly, POP POP POP they all get capped and you see a soaking Desmond running over the crest of a hill, guns blazing.

"JACK NOOOOO, DUCK!!!"

And Jack's all "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?" clomping over to him, Jack-style, and Des is like "You don't understand. They're the bad guys."

bwarrrrrrrr LOST OPENING LOGO

I'd love to see that. Or something a little more subtle like:

Jack and co. make their way back to the beach. They arrive just as Desmond does and he walks up to them.

Jack: Desmond! It worked, we're rescued!

Claire: Where's Charlie?

Des gives her a dead stare, turns to Jack, shaking his head.

Des: It's not Penny's boat, Jack.

Jack:...what?

Des: It's. not. Penny's. Boat.

All of the castaways looking increasingly worried as ****, quick cuts between Jack's shocked despair and Desmond's dead frankness....

cut to Henry Gale laughing hysterically - BWAAAAAR LOST.

Nice.

"I hate to say 'I told you so,' Jack." in that total Ben Linus fashion, all smirking. Maybe finish it off with Alex and Rousseau punching either side of his face simultaneously.

I actually like this, and could see them going with something like this :lol

EDIT: I wanna see flashback episodes for BOTH Alex and Rousseau this year.

I never hated him, but I did get the sense that the writers never really knew what to do with him, and as such, he often got some of these strange arcs. At least he ended off on the highest of notes.

Season 2 and 3 premiers started with the totally unexpected scenes (S2: Desmond waking inside the hatch, and S3: suburbia and the plane crashing) in which both times people thought the scenes were not taking place on the island until the OMGWTF twists... I expect a similar mind**** for S4 opening.

I never really got that sense. I always thought charlie wanted to be a hero even though his actions didnt always translate as such.

I mean even from the pilot, he wanted to be a hero wanted to go out into the jungle on the expedition.

I thought he did that to get his drugs back.

I think you are mixing Charlie and Boone up. In the beginning, Charlie was just trying to get some easy pussy by being in a rock band, but eventually had to settle with the pregnant chick.

Later, he was reacting to irrational fears, and then being bitchy when Locke showed his ass up on the beach.

How long will it take to get me hooked on Lost? I watched the Pilot and still don't know whether or not to buy the DVD set. I don't know, the show somehow seems a little bit slow to me.

The show is slow. If the pilot didnt get you, i dont think you will like the show.

Charlie is not your typical hero in the sense that Boone was to be. Even if we were to forget the pilot, Charlie has always wanted to be seen as heroic, especially after he tossed his addiction. Through the killing of Ethan, the constant protection of claire and the eventual sacrifice of himself, i feel that the message is clear - he even wrote being called a hero as one of his greatest hits - although obviously he hits the apex of his journey in the finale.

This is coming from someone however who liked Charlie's character from the start, even when i first heard "Guys, where are we?" in Lost's beginning promotional material.

By the fourth episode, "Walkabout". If that doesnt get you, nothing will. So stick with it until at least that episode. Its a Top 5 episode in the entire series, to me.

I absolutely Agree. To me "Walkabout" is perhaps one of top 5 or top 10 tv episodes of ANY tv series. It was the episode that got me from "wow I really like this show" to "holy shit I'm watching all of season one right now." The story was just so expertly crafted and intricately shot, it reminded me of an M. Night Shyamalan film (you know, one of the good ones).

Yup. That episode made me Locke my favorite character on television.

"DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!"

just finished watching S3... and I couldn't disagree more... I HATE LOCKE... I was actually happy when he was shot... BUT NO... walt had to come back a fix everything...

Wow, really? I disliked him during Season 2 but I haven't met anyone who disliked him in general.

Hmm, yeah. You're the first person I've heard of who's HATED Locke.

I disagree and question some of his actions, but he's always been at the heart of the show for me.

I feel ashamed for even posting this but still need to know.

Why is everyone shocked with the fact that the boat that's coming to rescue the crew is not Penny's? Was it stated that they were baddies or something?

1. Naomi, the girl who parachuted on the island, said she was hired by Penny.
2. Ben told Jack not to believe her.
3. Locke killed her.
4. Penny denied any relation to her.
5. Something BAD happened after that episode (look at Jack in the future).

I think all that is reason enough to make assumptions.

I dont think we can ever be friends! :lol Seriously though, your entitled to that (blatantly false and CRAZY) opinion though.

Locke didn't die when he was shot because:
- hes too much of a badass and the island wouldnt let him die.
- more seriously, Ben shot him in the kidney, which would have killed him. Ironically enough, Locke's bastard of a father saved his life by ensuring that Locke had no kidney there for Ben to shoot.

... I just watched all three seasons in less than a week.

The season 3 finale. Holy SHIT. Probably one of the best finales I've EVER seen.

I mean the whole time I was thinking
holy crap, what if this is Jack in the future? This ISN'T a flash back!
But I really didn't think they would go that route.

I'm just in shock. WOW awesome.

P.S.
I know Charlie's dead, but I don't want him to be. He's my favorite character. :[

i'm still in season since i didn't have time to do a marathon (school, lol) but i saw the one with the case and the one before that one was, i think, the one with ethan. i'm digging it so far.

it seems to me that they do an ''omg what's in the forrest'' episode and then counter that with an ''stuff that happens between the characters'' episode. i think it's basically been like that up until now, i watched the first 10 episodes up 'till now. i like it, it doesn't throw everything in your face at once but it's a bit spread out and leaves room for character development.

i watched "...and found" from season 2 yesterday and will totally admit that things got a little dusty at the end. they got me, those bastards.

just finished season 3.
i changed my mind.

lost > the wire

un. be. lievable.

when is season 4 due?

edit: also, from reading the twop forums, it's clear some people don't understand "suspension of disbelief"

Im really excited at what 16 episodes a season will do to the writers.

This season is going to be so good, especially with abruzzi cutting off bitches toes.

I've finished watching the third season two weeks ago. I became so absorbed by the show that I had to watch three episodes a day. Thanks the gods that I forced myself to continue, I nearly quit in the middle of season two because it was a wee bit to slow for me.

Can't wait for season four to start and I think 1-18-08 has something to do with the Lost series :)

(EDIT) Added a link... and Lost > Every other suspense TV show

I had heard from many people for a long time that the show took a huge dive in S2 and again in S3. I had also heard that the show was all questions and no answers. What in the hell were these people smoking? The show has gotten better as time passes, and the final run of episodes of S3 is the most consistently amazing run the show has ever had. Anyways, just felt like Lost needed another love thread. I have just totally gotten lost in the show's plotting, themes, mythology, and characters (and the wonderful actors on the show). Terry O'Quinn's John Locke has hands down become my favorite character on televison.

I feel the exact same way as you do.

I came to lost late as well...at the start of season 3. I bought the season 1 dvd and season 2 dvd, and watched them all in the span of 2 weeks and was blown away.

But the way the show is set up, I knew i could not watch an episode each week....so I forced myself to not participate in season 3 and just wait for it to completely end....then I watched all of season 3 in one week, and yea, it is probably one of my favorite shows ever (alongside twin peaks, freaks and geeks, and heroes). and the Finale to season 3.....Greatest way to end the season Ever.

with that said....I was with you on John Locke...he was my favorite until like the middle of season 2.....Sayeed has become my favorite now. hahaha

You're the first person ive heard say that they hate Locke. I think Locke is one of the reasons why the show is so good. He is such a brilliant character. Him sawyer and desmond are the best characters on the show.

the last scene in "through the looking glass" is so effective that i had a f***ing dream about it last night. i guess after three seasons i've really dropped a lot of emotional investment in the characters, and jack's whole situation and final lines had the full effect the writers wanted, i imagine.

was anyone else as bothered by this as me?
