Launch DualShock 4 starting to disconnect/not respond.

BiGBoSSMk23

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
My DS4's are beginning to spaz out mid game. I can tell by the sound from my earphones dropping out and the last action I pressed continuing on its own briefly before the controller snaps out of it.

The R2 trigger is also not responding, but that changes in severity from game to game. In Ground Zeroes it takes several presses before it realizes i'm trying to grab a guard. In Destiny less notably so, only shows when using Auto fire guns.

Anyone know a solution for this, or are both my controllers reaching their expiry date?

Lol @ that bump. My controller is doing some weird shit where it doesn't reconnect to the PS4 correctly. Like it keeps forgetting the pairing or something. Sometimes that controller doesn't charge right either. Also a launch pad.

Edit: lol, launch pad. No problemo Mr McD!

My controller has the same problems. Got me killed in Bloodborne a few times.
Also best bump/gif combo ever

Sony replaced my launch Dual Shock 4 for free last month. Sent it in, new one turned up 2 weeks later.

I'm kinda SOL there since I had to replace the ribbon cable for the lightbar on both pads.

I know... DS4 build quality:

Mine does it in Bloodborne too. Like Ill be walking along and hell just stop, only for a split second, and then start walking again. If I'm running hell do it too. Not the game. Def the controller. One of my sticks might be crapping out:(

I had to replace my launch window controller literally yesterday because the R2 trigger broke. Never had a problem with the DS3

I wouldn't worry, I took mine apart on the day PS4 came out because L1 started sticking whilst playing Killzone. Sony (UK) still replaced it. I just entered the serial number on their website and they sent me shipping labels to print off. Worth a shot!

My left analogue stick failed so it wouldn't register forward inputs at all. It's the only controller I have ever had fail.

All my DS3s eventually died but were talking 5+ years. How old are our launch DS4s? 18 months? Has there been a rebuild since launch?

Fair enough. I'll be sending them one at a time as I don't feel like trying to play competitive through a Vita. lol

On my third controller since launch... the rubber sticks frayed on two of them, R1 sticks on all of them, and in general I'm really disappointed with the build quality because I think the controller aside from that is great. Comparatively, I have launch Sixaxis controllers from the PS3 that still work flawlessly. I don't even want to purchase another controller because it feels almost like throwing away money at that point.

I've had some issues with it spazzing out for a few seconds. It seems to only happen when the battery is low.

Got two controllers at launch, and one more later on, for local multiplayer games. I've been exclusively using one of the launch controllers for all single player games, and so far it has no issues at all, other than the label at the bottom coming off.

I have an issue where rarely the game will display a reconnect controller message even though im pretty sure the controller never disconnected in the first place. sometimes I'll get it up to 3x in a row but then it just stops. could I be describing the same issue? It only happens itermittently and thought it was maybe related to interference.

How far are you from the console? About 2 rooms and one extremely thick wall away my DS4 starts to cut out, especially if my Surface Pro 3 is in the way, seems to just be the bluetooth signal. If you're far away, see if it's still present very close to the console.
