Thanks for the heads up, ordered!
What do you mean? Everything I said is true
Who's talking about a two hour version, I said 30 min cut so it's three hours+
Whew! I got the second-to-last one in stock! Thanks OP.
Really? Says there was about 18 in stock when I ordered a minute ago.
Says it won't ship for 1-3 weeks for me right now. Fuck!
It runs on a bit too long and I felt from a modern perspective the main character is unlikeable but the movie is gorgeous and its worth watching if only to see how it has influenced so many others in film
Says $26.99 for me.
Will wait for price drop. I still have to buy Wreck It Ralph on blu ray

Even if you don't like the movie (Although your tastes would be highly suspect if this were the case) the restoration on the Blu-Ray is a showcase for your movie watching setup. Easily one of the most impressive restorations I have ever seen.
On the same level as Ben-Hur, but with a superior final act.Better than Ben Hur?
I've never seen this...I'm curious. How good of a movie is it? I still really enjoyed Ben Hur when I watched it a few weeks ago.

It would most likely be a top 10 for me if was shorter because it clearly doesn't need to be this long. It's so painfully obvious that it was made like this for the same reason we have 3D movies now, to give people something they can't get at home with all those "epic" shots that don't really have any purpose. Every time I'm really getting into the story it's kinda like the movie stops teling the story and yelling at me "THIS SHIT IS SO EPIC"
Huh? Lawrence came out in 1962, well before the advent of home video. All movies were "something people couldn't get at home".
Admittedly you could split it into a two movie series just fine, but if you really want to do that then just stop at the intermission and finish watching the next day or week or whatever.Edmond Dantès;49635588 said:A two hour Lawrence of Arabia just wouldn't work.

It's a film in love with the cinematic language of film, capturing an era, sense of place, and state of mind - back in an era where a shot could linger without feeling a need to jumpcut in a desperate appeal to ADHD-riddled brains.
When I ordered, it defaulted to 26.99. Was this a mistake?
Alright so I added
Lawrence of Arabia
The Princess Bride
No Country for Old Men
To my cart. But the price is listed as 24 pounds, not 17. What gives?
