Layton 3 is just a week away!

It's not really odd, Level 5 released those screens for the 5th game on 3DS because they already released the 4th game and third parties were showing off what they had ready for 3DS at that point. Nintendo was promoting the 3rd game since it's next to be released here.
 
Hope this is better than the last. I found the puzzles to be too easy, and the story was awful IMO last go around, although I still loved it.

You can indeed, just got my shipping confirmation email earlier :) Of course, the earliest I will have it is next weekend if I'm lucky, but at least I know it's on its way!
 
Argh! I didn't notice this, were there any pre-order bonuses at GameStop that I missed by any chance?
I was planning on pre-ordering later this week when I also put down my Etrian Odyssey and Scribblenauts pre-orders, looks like I'll be able to just buy it instead.

(I'm preordering all of these so late since I just moved back into college in a different city, so I literally couldn't beforehand)

(And Layton is one of my favorite franchises of all time. I fell absolutely head over heels drop dead in love with the first game)
 
heads up for any Philadelphia fans: head over to Love Park anytime soon and you can play the game and get a free Layton t-shirt. the t-shirts are in limited supply. but it looked like they still had a lot. they will be there until 6pm.

you have to participate in the contest they have going to get the t-shirt though. Men vs Women. you have 3 minutes to solve as many puzzles as possible. the puzzles are relatively easy. early-game ones, im sure.
 
I imported the 1st Layton game from the US and immediately fell in love with it. After i finished the 2nd one, i don't think i'll buy the 3rd anymore. It's not that Layton2 was a bad game per se. But it was just... more of the same. Usually that's a good thing, but in this case it somehow managed to bore me (even though i think i completed all 3 minigames and most of the puzzles in the game).

It's a bit strange, but i'm just not excited about 3 anymore. I'll probably just google the story. I might buy the 4th one though, for the RPG included in it (i hope i'm not mistaken, but i think the 4th one has the RPG included?). That sounds like a breath of fresh air for the series, and just what i need to get back to it :)
 
Layton is my comfort franchise. I know exactly what I'm going to get with each game, and it's great, if unoriginal.

With Layton 5 for the 3DS shown in English, I am hoping Nintendo or Level 5 can squeak out layton 4 before Japan gets Layton 5.

it is autumn, windy and gloomy at outside and i dont have a job lol which means i can play Professor Layton while lying on my bed and drinking coffee! and i am almost 30 :((((((
 
I was almost completely unaware of this, but then I went to Gamestop to get Miles Edgeworth and saw the semi-unpacked box of Layton stock.

If I had gone Sunday, I would have caved and bought it already.
 
Amazon just shipped my copy, hope it gets here by Monday. While UPS doesn't seem to deliver on the weekends, packages tend to still move though the tubes.

Especially since I played the Euro version of Layton 2 at my little cousin's only to find out the shocking truth : the second game is fully dubbed in french, and there's obviously no way to switch back to the awesome english dub (even though it was in the first game's euro version).

The french dub wasn't especially bad actually, but the english voice for Layton is just so absolutely perfect, I don't want to hear anything else.

I grabbed this on Friday, Walmart had it on the shelves two days early, but I'm trying to polish off Ys 7 before I start up a new game.

Fun fact: Don't try and register a game that's been released early, Club Nintendo doesn't like it.

Yeah, go for it. If no one had made one by the time I got the game, I would of just made an OT with the box art and maybe the wikipedia description like I did with one of the star force games :lol
 
Any 9+ reviews? Just found out about the later EU date, so might import on ebay if it gets really good reviews
