Listened to the entire show, wonderful stuff. I haven't really been listening to them a lot lately but if this is truly the end, what a way to go out.

Aww crap, I wish I would have checked Off-topic before watching Heat. Missing this bums me out. I started listening to LCD this past December and would have really liked to have at least watched a stream of them playing live. If they were play again, even if I have to fly to New York, I will be there. But for now, I'll cross my fingers and wish for a BD/DVD release of this performance.

Okay guys it's time to get away, I have too much love for discussing this band but all I want is to sleep right now. Goodnight all my GAF friends.

Yeah

You weren't joking, though.
Gaf uses a sarcasm tag?

LCD Soundsystem was called "the best band on one's heard" in Variety or Rolling stone or some music magazine best of year whatever issue's. This is after Sound of Silver debuted at 46 on the U.S. Billboard.

Sigh. The music industry needs James Murphy more than he needs them. Hopefully he will have some amount of output like how Trent Reznor is still busy since putting NIN into retirement.

Looking forward to the inevitable Blu Ray. Shall be glourious.

It's just that you said you were joking, then you qualified the earlier statement by saying they weren't mainstream.

Sorry I couldn't detect your sarcasm. It's hard to tell who's fucking around in a thread when people say they're tearing up while watching a livestream.

it's cool. I should have explained the reference sooner, not called it a joke.

As for me, i really did tear up when the last song came up. No sarcasm there.

It's great that music can have that kind of power over a listener.

Can't believe I used to care about yr opinions on music.

Clueless.
I'm sure they contributed greatly to a scene & genres of music I couldn't give two shits about. I tried pretty hard, and I could just never get into them at all.

Got into this band about a year ago, because of GAF mainly.

Hope to hear more of James' stuff! Loved this band!

Yo, I got to see this band with Hot motherfucking Chip, so I'm not jealous of the guys who got to go to this. But my God, guys, we've lost a legend. :(

Personally, I'm excited to see where Murphy ends up next. Nice to hear they ended on NY,ILY,BYBD (yay for stupid acronyms :lol), anything other would be inappropriate.

*waits for the recorded version to turn up*

Haha, I was drunk and surly last night. ^_^

I do think James is one of the best musicians of the last decade though (and will be remembered as such).

Me and my bro did the whole show from 2am - 6am in the UK, singing and dancing just about reservedly enough not to wake anyone up. It was draining but oh so worth it.

Watched them at terminal 5 earlier this week which was amazing. I'm glad I got to see them live at least once. I'm looking forward to whatever project murphy has lined up.

I wish I could remember who introduced me to these guys and thank them. I heard someone say of them that its dance music with lyrics far better than they have any right to be.

Such a fantastic group, thanks for the music.

Paid a small fortune for seats to the show. Kind of wished I paid a large fortune for GA tickets.

One of the best shows I've ever seen. The video simply doesn't do justice to how much the band actually rocks. I love the dance tunes, the extended middle set, but man, when they want to rock, they fucking rock!

My favorite band of the last 5 years. Feels like I've lost a friend.

I was one of the lucky that was able to get seats that weren't scalped. 300s though, so I was a little worried if it wasn't going to be good enough, but it was still quite amazing.

The show was loads of fun; I enjoyed just about every song they had performed, even songs on CDs I generally skip (like Sound of Silver). Some of my highlights were North American Scum, seemingly everyone screaming at the top of their lungs "Where are your friends tonight?" and cheering to "...this could be the last time", seeing different members cheesing at points (like Nancy), and everyone celebrating before their last three songs. I had been to only one other show before, but the angle I had this time it was a lot easier to appreciate how their stage setup was. Definitely looked like a big group of people just having a lot of fun.

It seems weird to me though. I find it hard to believe they'd stay away from LCD in concert for a very long time. Not because of money or fame or any of that, but because of their friendship and chemistry and songs.

All My Friends is one of my favorite songs of all-time. The lyrics really hit a chord with me considering I am 31 years old and feel that the partying days are behind me. I do miss them though and often think about what my friends and ones who I am not so close to but partied with are up to.

Man, I've really ignored Sound of Silver. Good thing they only played stuff from LCD and TIH when I saw them. Bar All My Friends, of course.

Us Vs Them and North American Scum are quintessential LCD. Nothing beats Movement in book though.

:(

I was lucky enough to catch them in a basement with fewer than a hundred people many years ago. I saw them at festivals years later but nothing ever matched seeing them that first time. Glad they were able to leave on their terms.
