This crazy tank Ekko is what Smeb spent most of yesterday's series trying to outrotate and control. I don't think people have any idea how hard it is to play Rumble or Kennen late game against him. Tons of pressure in the 1v1, very tough to gank, and can TP across and run down your backline even if they win an engagement.

Because then the other 4 SSG members on top take a turret and an inhib. Probably just trying to minimize damage, but there's really no good way to do that with that kind of pressure on opposite sides of the map.

Actually, no. His tankyness potential is the problem, not his speed.

tankiness is something that can be brought. Unless you nerf tank items, then you come to the realization that the reason why tankiness is a problem for him, is because his kit enables him to build tanky with little to no drawback.

Its in combination with his kit that it becomes problematic. When balancing champions in league, you have to take into consideration the items that they can buy, and the kit themselves. Ekko is a champion that can be built tanky, and still deal a ton of damage, as well as have huge mobility to help him chase squishies/trade. Not to mention how much damage he can deal.

The thing about Ekko and Poppy is that they can lose lane and will still shit on most meta top laners late game
