Does Gamestop email us the code or do they hand over the code over the counter? Because when I preordered mine I got nothing.

If you pre-ordered for in-store pickup they should have emailed you one by now. Got mine anyhow. If in store you then you will need to pick up a card with the code in store.

Anyhow, I believe we could use an official demo impressions thread perhaps.

I know I wanna play the PC demo with three people that have not played it before, I want the whole new experience for everyone! But I doubt anyone has that kind of patience to wait till this evening.

Well besides, the good ole launch / finding servers should be exponentially better by the time I get to play compared to when it's first available :p

How late do you have to wait? I think the 4PM PST is a pretty good starting point. But I'm not expecting the actual release to happen for a couple more hours beyond that. So 8 or 9 PM EST / 5 or 6 PM PST is a reasonable expectation IMO.

Well while I don't get home until 6PM CST, I have to do some things (like we're having new internet service and I gotta make sure that works).

So I'm hoping to be in the range of 7:30 PM CST - 11:00 PM CST to be fully available to play.

See, you're clearly a more optimistic person than I am. I'm hoping servers will start getting up and running by that time. My bitter mind can't even fathom that people would be already on multiple plays by then.:lol

I don't even remember all of the first's demo messups, but I remember playing it at a decent hour that day! If not, hopefully a person can locally host it with little to no issues.

I think it's two levels, like the demo of 1 was (not 2 complete levels; level 2 ended after the crescendo, in the ammo room). Might have vs. 1's demo 'had' vs for the first stage.

Could've sworn you had 'second' instead of 'segment'. :lol
 
Game is so incredibly good and I can already tell this is going to be much better than the first. I knew I would love the setting as well. Anyhow, so glad Valve pumped this out in a year unlike their usual Valve time

should be easy to no clip out of the 2nd level to see if there's any more to it, as it was in the first demo.

i forget if i said i'd eat anything inappropriate if Valve actually got the game out in less than a year after the first AND made the first release date they announced for once... but it looks like it's going to happen.

I have a midterm tonight so I wont be able to try out the demo until probably 8 PST. I should probably study right now instead of checking the boards.

Count me in. I'll probably mess around in Borderlands, get abit of studying done, then play L4D2 demo for awhile after dinner.
 
God damn this game is good. I'm already loving the new characters, and the melee weapons are really fun to use. The defibrillator, adrenaline shots and boomer bile are cool touches too.

I'm a big fan of getting a desk mic + nice headphones. I haven't had much luck with the combined units in the past.

I have a logitech mic like this one, but with an audio plug instead of usb (mine is maybe 3 or 4 years old). It works pretty well (I never get complaints anyway).
